1828-1900; Pvt., Co. G, 2 MO Cavalry; Modesto Pioneer Cemetery; born in Pennsylvania; wife Anna Louisa; pension application #591285 filed in California; widow's pension application #713440 filed in California; living in Shaw's Flat, Tuolumne County, California in 1880; died near Salida, California.
Charles Evander Kettle
1839-1895; Pvt., Co. F, 7 MO Cavalry; Modesto Citizens Cemetery GAR plot; born in New York; residing in Hancock County, Illinois 1880; died as a result of an assault behind a saloon on Front Street, causing paralysis; described as 5'10" tall, crippled with two fingers missing from his left hand.
John Wesley Knapp
1844-1937; Pvt., Co. A, 20 MI Infantry; Acacia Memorial Park; born in Michigan; enlisted at Lansing, Michigan 08/18/1862; discharged due to disability 06/18/1863 at Detroit, Michigan; wounded 05/09/1863 during battle on the Cumberland River; wife Lucelia Ann; came to Riverbank, California about 1920; died at Topeka, Kansas while visiting son Fred W. Knapp.
