B, 6 IA Infantry; Oakdale Citizens Cemetery; born in Meigs County, Ohio; enlisted 07/17/1861, residing at Hopeville, Iowa; discharged due to disability at Jefferson City, Missouri 10/07/1861; widow Mary Kane; came to California in 1881, again in 1889; pension #578931 filed in 1886; widow's pension application filed in 1914 in California; J.S. and Mary had a restaurant called the Ban Box.

1849-1929; Pvt., Co. L, 9 OH Cavalry; Turlock Memorial Park; born in Ohio; residing in Madera County, California by 1900; a house painter; residing at the California Veterans Home - Yountville in 1920; pension application #1337837 filed in Oregon.

1836-1912; Pvt., Co. A, 25 TN Infantry, CSA; Acacia Memorial Park; born in White County, Tennessee; lost left forearm in Battle of Chickamauga; wife Mary Stone; came to California in 1869; elected Stanislaus County Assessor, County Hospital Steward, and Fresno County Assessor.

F to Co. A; mustered out 07/27/1866 at Camp Douglas, Utah Territory; regiment charged with protection of the overland mail route.
Daniel Whitfield "Whit" Carmichael
1842-1915; Pvt., Co. B, 1 MO Engineers, CSA; Oakdale Citizens Cemetery; born in Green County, Tennessee; wife Margaret Harrill; came to California in 1873; died in Oakdale, California; he was the last of his 12 siblings to die and left no surviving children.

George G. Center
1830-1906; Pvt., Co. D, 2 VT Infantry; Modesto Citizens Cemetery GAR plot; enlisted 05/07/1861, residing at Waterbury, Vermont; transferred into Co. E, 13 Veteran Reserve Corps; discharged 04/15/1864; wounded at Fredericksburg, Virginia 12/13/1862; pension application #468156 filed on 01/09/1883 in California.
Horace L. Chamberlain
1847-1914; Pvt., Co. John Conner
1834-1930; Sgt., Co. G, 2 WI Cavalry; Oakdale Citizens Cemetery; born in Michigan; enlisted 1862; mustered out 11/15/1865; wife Susie Trainer; came to California by 1881; died in Oakdale, California; at his death he was 96 and one of the last Civil War veterans in the area.
