William Andrew Griffin
1836-1916; 1st Sgt., Co. C, 2 GA Battalion of Sharpshooters, CSA; Oakdale Citizens Cemetery; born in Monroe, Walton County, Georgia; died in Oakdale, California; widow Elizabeth McGinnis; called "Judge" because he was a Justice of the Peace; he was a battlefield correspondent for the Augusta, Georgia Chronicle and suffered four wounds during the war.

Henson H. Gunter

M, 3 IA Cavalry; Modesto Citizens Cemetery; born in Indiana; enlisted 07/06/1862; discharged 08/09/1865; wife Aramada Josephine; the Gunters, with 8 children, moved from Missouri to San Jose, California  in 1882; they moved to Modesto, California in early 1911.
