This cemetery is located on private property on a knoll on the original homestead of the Benoni Swearingen family at the base of the Siskiyou Mountains. The ranch was near the original Indian Town, one of the Gold Rush towns in early Klamath and Del Norte County History, later made a part of Siskiyou County. The Swearingens both crossed the plains at separate times in 1855 and were married at Indian Town by Justice of the Peace John R. Prindle at Indian Town on Sept. 7, 1856.
