Karen Cleland
Has what is called a “Title Plant” that has the history of every piece of property in the county. That history includes decree’s of distribution which list all the property owned by the deceased and all of their heirs. Also there are many instances in which death certificates are recorded and she would have a copy of them. Records go back to statehood but the title plant only begins in 1909. She can help people if you know of property owned by your ancestors because she can find the decrees of distribution and death certificates. Also, sometimes heirs will deed interests among themselves and the notary acknowledgement on the deed will give some information on the county and state where the heir is living. Quite often a number of the heirs are found living back east or in Europe.
