Redding Record-Searchlight, January 14, 1913
The body of Thomas Quinn of Round Mountain, who died Saturday,
arrived in Redding Sunday. Quinn died of pneumonia,
induced by a celebration he enjoyed in Redding during
the holidays. Returning home he fell sick.
The deceased was an ex-union sailor, having done honorable
service in the Civil war. He bears the distinction of
having been on a ship the ensign of which was George
Dewey, now admiral and the hero of Manila bay. The old
navyman enjoyed telling of his exploits afloat under
the union flag.
The funeral of Quinn will be held Wednesday in this city.
