Jensen, Shelley M.
Redding Record-Searchlight, Friday, May 6, 1966
Graveside funeral services for Shelley Marie Jensen were to be conducted
at the Redding Cemetery this afternoon. The Rev. Robert Hawthorne
was to officiate. Shelley, the infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Jimmy L. Jensen of Redding, died at a Redding hospital yesterday.
She was born Tuesday.
Besides her parents, she leaves maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.
Lewis Sershon of Garden Grove; and paternal grandparents, Mr.
and Mrs. Kenneth R. Jensen of Redding.

Redding Record-Searchlight, January 6, 1950
Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. at McDonald’s chapel
today for Cecilia E. Johnson and mass will be celebrated
at 10 a.m. tomorrow at St. Joseph’s church, the Rev.
Father A.T. Gavin officiating. Interment will follow
in St. Joseph’s cemetery.

Rosary was recited at McDonald’s chapel Friday by the
Rev. Father Thomas O’Brien for Mrs. Cecilia Johnson.
Mass was celebrated Saturday at St. Joseph’s church,
the Rev. Father William Walsh officiating. Interment
followed in St. Joseph’s cemetery. Casket bearers
were: Ray Bousfield, Cornie Quiring, Dale Mulholland,
Lloyd Combs, Joseph Kay, Rudy Balma. |

in a bed in the Alta House here yesterday morning. Epilepsy was
the cause of his death. Johnson was a member of Olive Lodge, No.
81, I.O.O.F., of Dutch Flat. He was a logger

Redding Record-Searchlight, July 3, 1974
Funeral services for Herman R. Jolley, 54, of Redding were to be
conducted at 10 a.m. today in the Lawncrest Chapel. In addition
to survivors listed Tuesday, Jolley also leaves three sisters,
Hazel Taylor, Mabel Fox, and Ethel Rogers, all of Linwood. |
Jones, Bessie
Shasta Courier, Redding, Shasta Co., Calif., Friday, June 4, 1920
Mrs. Bessie Jones, 40, who died in Napa June 1, will be buried in
this city Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Houston undertaking
parlors. Mrs. Jones was a native of Missouri but came to Shasta
county when quite young and was a resident of Del Mar while here.
The decedent leaves a husband, Leon Jones of Weed, and two daughters,
Thelma, 15, and Elsie Jones, 16, also sisters--Mrs. Charles House
of Redding, Mrs. Nathan Arnold of Sacramento, Mrs. Conklin of
Whitmore, Mrs. Robert Gibson of Martinez and Mrs. Catherine Andree
of San Francisco. There are two brothers in Redding--Lee Reid
and Charlie Reid--and one in Marysville--William Reid.

Jones, Mary Ethel
Redding Record-Searchlight
Friday, June 3, 1966
Mary Ethel Jones, 77, of Redding, died yesterday at a Redding hospital.
She was born Jan. 6, 1889 in Palo Cedro. Mrs. Jones leaves her
husband, Thomas of Redding, and three sisters, Mrs. Maude Barnes
and Mrs. Hattie Cain, both of Redding, and Mrs. Ila Larison of
Quincy. Mrs. Jones was past senior regent of the Women of the
Moose, past noble grand of the Redding Rebekah Lodge and past
president of the Women's Relief Corps.
The Rev. Roy Nelson will conduct funeral services at McDonald's
Redding Chapel at 2 p.m. Monday. Interment will be in Lawncrest
Memorial Park.

Jones, Ronald Eugene
Redding Record-Searchlight, Friday, June 16, 1978
Graveside services for Ronald Eugene Jones of Redding, will be conducted
at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Redding Cemetery. Jones died Tuesday
at his home. He was 43. The cause of death is still under investigation,
according to the Shasta County coroner's office.
Born June 4, 1935, in Weed, he had lived in Shasta County one year.
He leaves a son, Gary, and daughter, Vicki, both of Randall, Wash.;
a brother, Delbert of Eureka; and a sister, Betty M. Bellah of
Redding. The Rev. Roger Chamberlain will officiate at the services.
Hesse's Funeral Chapel of Redding is in charge of arrangements

Jones, Thomas A.
Redding Record-Searchlight, Wed., Dec. 12, 1973
Funeral services for Thomas A. Jones, a Churn Creek area rancher,
will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at McDonald's Redding Chapel.
Officers of the Moose Lodge will conduct the services. Jones died
Monday in his home. He was 88.
Born Feb. 8, 1885 in Orland, Jones worked as a self-employed rancher
for 65 years, until retirement. He was a member of the Loyal Order
of Moose in Redding. Jones leaves a half-brother, Virtle Jones
of Vacaville. Burial will be in Lawncrest Memorial Park.

Jose, Ed
Dunsmuir News, June 16, 1894
Ed Jose, who conducts a passenger and freight service between Redding
and Weaverville, was shot and killed near Weaverville last Sunday
by a man named E. Eddington, who was a teamster in Ed's employ.
Eddington first held up another teamster named Hampton, robbing
him of $130. Jose went out to hunt the robber and was shot, dying
the next day. Jose leaves a wife and several children in Redding.
Eddington was trailed by a posse of Deputy Sheriffs to a brush
patch near Anderson Thursday night. They commanded him to hold
up his hands, but when he reached for his gun, officers opened
fire, killing him instantly.
