The California State Library. Its main facility is in downtown Sacramento. The library has an excellent collection of old newspapers on microfilm, including the Mountain Messenger. Web site for the Meriam Library at Chico State University. It is the largest library north of Sacramento. Be sure to check out the online historical photograph and map collections. Both are indexed by location and there is a person index for the photos.
