CARLSBAD - Beverly Ann Jenison, 64, died Wednesday, Nov. 22, at her residence in Carlsbad.
Born Oct. 30, 1936, in Rochester, New York, Jenison lived in Carlsbad for 20 years. She taught at Palmquist Elementary School.
She is survived by her mother Jennie Schiano, of Rochester, NY; sons David Jenison, of Los Angeles and Michael Jenison, of Carlsbad; and brother and sister-in-law Charles and Agnes Schiano, of Rochester, NY.

Grace Hayes, 77
VISTA - Grace M. Hayes, 77, died Friday, Nov. 17, 2000, at Las Villas del Norte Nursing Home.
Born Aug. 11, 1923, in Chicago, she lived in Vista for 15 years. She graduated from Arizona State University with a bachelor of arts degree in education and earned a master of arts degree in 1963. She was a teacher for 11 years before retiring and held a real estate license.
Mrs. Hayes was preceded in death by her husband, John D. Hayes. She is survived by her stepson, John M. Hayes of New York; son-in-law Ronald Nowell of Sebastopol; and grandchildren Terra Nowell and Maranda Nowell.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10, at 1002 Concord Court in Vista.
Brooke Clinkscales, 17
POWAY - Brooke Adair Clinkscales, 17, died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2000, in Poway.
Born Nov. 6, 1983, in Hastings, Neb., she lived in Poway for 10 years. She was a high school student, an accomplished equestrienne and an avid fisherwoman.
Brooke is survived by her mother, Robin Hilton-Minor of San Diego; father David Clinkscales of Poway; brothers Brad Clinkscales and Brent Clinkscales, both of Poway, and Colton Minor of San Diego; sisters Chelsea Hilton and Brittany Hilton, both of San Diego.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29, at Maranatha Chapel in San Diego. Burial will take place at Dearborn Memorial Park.

Lena Thompson, 80
ESCONDIDO - Lena Thompson, 80, died Thursday, Nov. 23, 2000, at Valle Vista Convalescent Care.
Born July 10, 1900, in Seattle, she lived in Escondido for three months. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Thompson Sr., in 1990. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Robert Jr. and Mary Thompson of San Marcos.
A private cremation is planned.

Frank Tipton, 85
OCEANSIDE - Frank Benjamin Tipton, 85, died Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2000, at Thornton Hospital in La Jolla.
Born Jan. 17, 1915, in Lincoln, Neb., he lived in Oceanside for 40 years. He was a self-employed automotive designer and a member of the First Church of Religious Science in Oceanside.
Mr. Tipton was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret H. Tipton, in 1994. He is survived by his sons, Frank B. Tipton Jr. of Australia, Jeff Tipton of Vista and Joe Tipton of San Marcos; daughters Mary Perlee of Brushbury, Wash., and Ann Millen of Riverbank; and eight grandchildren.
No formal service is planned. A private cremation will be held.

VISTA - Clarence A. Rawson, 96, died Thursday, Nov. 23, 2000, at Life Care Center of Vista.
Born Sept. 8, 1904, in Hollywood, he lived in Vista for 75 years. He was a journeyman roofer with United Union of Roofers, Local 45, and worked for Peachey Roofing before retiring. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Oceanside.
Mr. Rawson is survived by his stepsons, Lawrence Everett Yearley of Vista and Monte Carol Yearley of Carlsbad; daughter Joy Evelyn Galvan of Vista; sisters Ruth Wilsen of Carlsbad and Rachel Dungey of Moraga; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29, at Eternal Hills Memorial Park, with the Rev. Hal Schulz officiating. Burial will follow.

George Kliest, 74
RAMONA - George M. Kliest, 74, died Friday, Nov. 24, 2000, at his home.
Born Oct. 22, 1926, in Los Angeles, he lived in Ramona for 11 years. He attended Manual Arts High School and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a supervisor for General Telephone Co. for 30 years and enjoyed motorhome travel. He was a member of the Lazy Daze motorhome group, enjoyed world history and coin collecting and gardening.
Mr. Kliest is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sally Kliest of Ramona; son and daughter-in-law Karl and Lauretta Kliest of Oakland; daughter and son-in-law Linda and Rick Frelke of Ramona; and grandchildren Ted, Sarah and Kevin Frelke.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 30, at the First Congregational Church of Ramona. A graveside service and burial will follow at Nuevo Memory Gardens.

ESCONDIDO - Consuelo D. Garlejo, 78, died Thursday, Nov. 23, 2000.
Born May 5, 1922, in the Philippines, she lived in Escondido for 24 years. She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, cooking, bingo and her grandchildren.
Mrs. Garlejo is survived by her husband of 62 years, Luis Delos-Santos Garlejo of Escondido; daughters and sons-in-law Felicidad and Benjamin E. Ancheta and Ledesma and Policarpio Santos, all of Escondido, and Evangeline and Catalino Santos and Bernardeta and Robert Oakman, all of Temecula; sons and daughters-in-law Victor and Margarita Garlejo of Temecula, Joel Garlejo of Encinitas and Fernando Garlejo of Escondido; sister Maria Dacanay of the Philippines; brother Feliciano Dacanay of the Philippines; 25 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

OCEANSIDE - Betty Jean Van Horn, 52, died Thursday, Nov. 23, 2000, at her home.
Born Oct. 12, 1948, in Oklahoma, she lived in Oceanside for two years. She was a homemaker for 32 years.
Mrs. Van Horn was preceded in death by her husband, Merle Wayne Van Horn, in 1991. She is survived by her brother, Jesse Carter of Oklahoma City; and sisters Hazel Carter and Mary Mcquerry, both of Oklahoma City.

ESCONDIDO -- Wilfred "Bill" C. Frank, 91, died Saturday, Nov. 25, 2000.
Born Sept. 24, 1909, in Cleveland, he was a resident of Escondido for 10 years. He was a correction office for the state of California.
Mr. Frank is survived by his wife, Catherine Frank of Escondido; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Bowman of Oakland and George and Charlie Smithson of Lake Elsinore; daughters and sons-in-law, Michele and Terrance Dunder and Anne Smithson all of Long Beach; grandchildren Katie Smithson, Davin Dok, Stefan Dok and Arabella and Tamoura Dunder.

Owen Lofthus, 86
RAMONA -- Owen W. Lofthus, 86, died Monday, Nov. 27, at Pomerado Hospital.
Born July 14, 1914, in Monterey, he was a longtime resident of Ramona and previously of Julian. Mr. Lofthus served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a watchmaker and just recently re-opened his shop on Main Street. He had been a watchmaker at the Pentagon for 20 years. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Ramona and was a member of the American legion Post 468 of Julian.
Mr. Lofthus is survived by several sons and a daughter, all out of the area.
A memorial celebration will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28. at the Bonham Bros & Lee Ramona Chapel.
Kristine Earl, 36
POWAY -- Kristine Stitt Earl, 36, died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2000.
Born Feb. 11, 1964, in Ogden, Utah, she was a resident of Poway for 18 years. She was a consultant for Pacific Mobility. She was a graduate on Bonnevill High School in 1982 and attended Weber State College and Merrick College where she received her LVN degree.
Mrs. Earl is survived by her husband, Darren Earl of Poway; parents, Bonnie and William K. Stitt of Ogden; son Chaseton Earl of Poway; daughters Cassie and Carissa Earl of Poway; sisters Pamela Nelson and Vicky Sparks both of Wyoming and Joan Stevenson of Ogden; brothers Tim and Ryan Stitt of Ogden and grandson Daniel Earl.
A funeral service is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29, at Living Way Church with the Rev. Douglas Balcombe officiating. Burial will follow the service to Dearborn Cemetery.

POWAY - Ralph F. Bell, 91, died Saturday, Nov. 25, 2000, at his residence.
Born Nov. 13, 1909, in Pennsylvania, he was a resident of Poway for 50 years. He worked for the laborer's union for a construction company and was a member of Stoneridge Country Club in Poway.
Mr. Bell was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Helen Bell who died on Feb. 21, 1999. He is survived by daughters Gwendolyn Katz of Northern California and Beverly Bell of Poway; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Graveside services and interment are scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 30, at Dearborn Memorial Park in Poway, with the Rev. Tom from Vitas Hospice officiating.

Born Feb. 16, 1916, in Mesa Grande, she was a resident of Mesa Grande all her life. She was a homemaker.
Ms. Beresford was preceded in death by her daughter, Connie Maxcy; sons Richard and Juanie Maxcy; grandson Hondo Maxcy, and great-grandsons Richard Cuevas and John W. Osuna. She is survived by her companion of 37 years Gilbert Sebastian Paipa of Inaja; sons Ed "Skippy" Maxcy of Stockton, Poncho Maxcy of Mesa Grande, Jack Beresford of La Jolla, Indian Reservation, and Mr. X Beresford of Mesa Grande; daughters Patsy Sexton of Escondido, Jojo Royer of Palm Desert and Rodie Ragsdale of Escondido; sisters Elizabeth Trujillo of San Diego and Lucille Linton of Rincon; first cousin Lorraine Hyde of Pechanga; 31 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Born Sept. 28, 1906, in New York she was a resident of Del Mar for 52 years. She was a homemaker. She loved gardening and arts and crafts. During WW II she worked for North American Aviation.
Mrs. Corbin was preceded in death by her husband, John Corbin; son John A. Corbin and grandson Charles E. Corbin. Mrs. Goss was preceded in death by her husband, Con F. Goss; son Perry Robertson and brothers Bud and Lawrence Mulkins. She is survived by son James Robertson of Trinity Center; daughters Joyce Sackett of Mission Viejo and Nancy Winterton of Desert Hot Springs; daughter-in-law Barbara Robertson of Desert Hot Springs; brother Clint Mulkins of Chula Vista 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

ESCONDIDO - Omar Alvarado, 81, died Friday, Nov. 24, 2000 at his home.
Born March 19, 1919, in Mexico, he was a resident of Escondido for 14 years. He was a retired travel agent and a member of Cathedral of the Valley Foursquare Church.
Mr. Alvarado is survived by his wife of 23 years, Jeri Alvarado of Escondido; son Omar Alvarado, Jr. of Cancun, Mexico; daughters and son-in-law Victoria Alvarado of Los Angeles, Patricia and Ian Woolf of Westhills and Adriana Alvarado of Mexico City; brother Raul Alvarado of Mexico City; grandchildren Omar Alvarado III of Vail, Colo., Keith and Erik Woolf of Westhills, Rodrigo and Alexandro Alvarado both of Uruguay.

Edward Savage, 86
SUMTER, N.C. - Edward Horton Savage, 86, died Sunday, Nov. 26, 2000.
Born In Rocky Ford, Colo., he was a resident of Sumter, N.C. He retired from the U.S. Army as a Technician Sergeant and was a WW II veteran. He was a director of the local United Service Organization, a member of Trinity United Methodist Church where he served as an active adult Sunday School teacher for 35 to 40 years. He was a member of the McLeod-Wesley Bible class and a church scout leader. He was very active in the Christian Business Men's Committee, the Travelers Protective Association and a longtime member of the Kiwanis Club with over 42 years of local service.
Mr. Savage was preceded in death by his sister, Catherine Rauch and brothers Henry and William Savage. He is survived by his wife Dorothy Flinn Savage of Sumter and sister Elizabeth C. Wilt of Escondido.
Funeral service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 30, at Trinity United Methodist Church with the Rev. James Adams officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.
