Norbert Manley, 84
OCEANSIDE - Norbert C. Manley, 84, died Tuesday, March 27, 2001.
Born Aug. 27, 1916, in Salt Lake City, he lived in Oceanside for 25 years. He retired from the U.S. Marine Corps in 1963 as a career officer. He was a Citadel alumnus. He enjoyed bicycling and reading.
Mr. Manley is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary Manley of Oceanside; and daughter and son-in-law Kathryn and Doug Thompson of Yuma, Ariz.
A graveside service is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 4, at Eternal Hills Memorial Park with the Rev. Edward Dotson officiating.

Rebecca Raymond, 47
ESCONDIDO - Rebecca Ann Raymond, 47, died Wednesday, March 21, 2001, at UCSD Medical Center.
Born March 26, 1953, in Escondido, she lived in Escondido for 47 years.
She was employed by Cooperative Extension University of California as a nutrition educator, bi-lingual. She graduated from Escondido High School and Palomar College. She was a master gardener, and participated in many volunteer programs. She attended St. Mary's Catholic Church. Her family is known as a Californio family having come to America in 1784.
Mrs. Raymond is survived by her husband of 26 years, Donald Raymond of Escondido; mother Lupe C. Martinez of San Ysidro; father David G. Martinez of San Diego; sons Aaron Thompson of Escondido, Matthew Thompson of Boston and Tobias Raymond of Escondido; daughter Angela Raymond of Escondido; and brothers Robert J. Martinez of Escondido and David J. Martinez of San Diego.
Visitation is scheduled from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 26, at Alhiser-Comer Mortuary Chapel. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 27, at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park.

Melvin Frerking, 89
SAN MARCOS - Melvin Frerking, 89, died Friday, April 28, 2000 at home of a heart attack.
Born March 23, 1911, in Concordia, Mo., he lived in San Marcos.
He was an electrician and retired 27 years ago. He was a member of IBEW Electrical Workers Union in Kansas City, Mo. for 50 years.
Mr. Frerking was preceded in death by two infant daughters, brothers Clarence Frerking and Walter Frerking and sister Eleanora Schumacher.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Myrtle Frerking of San Marcos; sons and daughters-in-law Stephen and Barbara Frerking of Flower Mound, Texas; James and Christal Frerking of Pioneer; Dale Frerking of Kansas City, Mo.; daughter and son-in-law Sharon and Donald Bandick of Escondido; grandchildren Bret Bandick, Lanette Nye, Derek Johnson, Christopher Frerking and Devon Frerking; great-grandchildren Jeanette Bandick, Bridgette Bandick and Colton Bandick.
A memorial will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 2, at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Escondido with the Rev. Michael Eckelkamp.

ESCONDIDO - Conrad R. Guerrette, 57, died Sunday, April 30, 2000, at his home.
Born Oct. 20, 1942, in Caribou, Maine, he lived in Escondido for 15 years. He was a warehouse manager for Grangetto Farm and Garden Supply for 15 years and served in the U.S. Army from 1964 to 1965.
Mr. Guerrette was preceded in death by his mother, Lena Ouellette Guerrette. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Barbara Guerrette of Valley Center; father Ulysses R. Guerrette of Maine; sons Tim Guerrette of Maine and Tom Guerrette of Saratoga; daughters Teri Hallman of Maryland and Tami Guerrette of Temecula; brother Roger Guerrette of Connecticut; sisters Joyce Lashamb of New York, Linda Barnes of Louisiana and Elaine Malifant of Maine; and three grandchildren.
Visitation and viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, May 4, at McLeod Mortuary, Escondido Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Additional services are pending in Caribou, Maine. Mockler Funeral Home is handling East Coast arrangements. Christopher Beauchat, 19
BOUNTIFUL, Utah - Christopher Cory Beauchat, 19, died Saturday, April 22, 2000, in a car accident, in Tooele, Utah.
Born July 27, 1980, in Colorado Springs, Colo., he lived in Bountiful for one year.
Christopher is survived by his mother, Nancy Jane Lippitt of San Francisco; father Gerard Kevin Beauchat of Bountiful; and sisters Micaela Steiner and Rhonda King.
A memorial service was held Tuesday, April 25, in Bountiful.
Frank Crnkovic, 63
ESCONDIDO - Frank J. Crnkovic Sr., 63, died Sunday, April 30, 2000, in Escondido.
Born Aug. 16, 1936, in Joliet, Ill., he lived in Escondido for 34 years. He was a meat cutter for Lucky stores for 38 years.
Mr. Crnkovic is survived by his wife of 40 years, Joyce A. Crnkovic of Escondido; sons and daughters-in-law Frank Crnkovic Jr. of Escondido, Richard and Kim Crnkovic of Temecula and Vince and Jill Crnkovic of San Marcos; daughter and son-in-law Cathy and Bob Henriques of Vista; brothers Leon Crnkovic and Donald Crnkovic, both of Escondido, and Vincent Crnkovic of Joliet; sister Marie Belom of Joliet; grandchildren Adam Crnkovic and Amy Crnkovic, both of Temecula and Whitney Crnkovic and Shelby Crnkovic, both of San Marcos; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Viewing will be held from 4 to 8 p.m., with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 4, at Alhiser-Comer Mortuary. A private cremation is planned.

POWAY - James D. Richardson, 79, died Thursday, April 27, 2000.
Born June 12, 1920, in Long Beach, he lived in San Diego and Poway for 79 years. He served in the U.S. military from 1941 to 1945.
Mr. Richardson was preceded in death by his wife, Rachel Richardson, in 1976; and mother Annie Richardson, in 1981. He is survived by his nephews, Tom Richardson of Santee and Darrell Richardson of Oceanside; and niece Beth Stephen of Oregon.

ESCONDIDO - Joseph Anthony Masnica II, 47, died Friday, April 28, 2000, in Nevada.
Born Dec. 15, 1952, in San Fernando, he lived in Escondido for 18 years. He worked for Pharmacia and Upjohn.
Mr. Masnica is survived by his wife of 27 years, Debra Masnica of Escondido; mother Patricia Masnica of Santa Clarita; sons Joseph A. Masnica III and John Masnica, both of Escondido; daughters and sons-in-law Danielle Masnica of Escondido, Krista and Andrew Scates of Aliso Viejo and Kathleen and Justin Knox of Pensacola, Fla.; and sister and brother-in-law Jana and Derek Parker of Palmdale.

SOLANA BEACH - Charles V. Gibbs, 83, died Tuesday, April 25, 2000, at Casa Palmera in Del Mar.
Born May 25, 1916, in Homewood, Pa., he lived in Solana Beach for nine years. He served in the U.S. Fifth Army from 1942 to 1945, leaving as a colonel.
Mr. Gibbs is survived by his wife of 58 years, June O. Gibbs of Solana Beach; sons and daughters-in-law Charles H. and Mary Gibbs of Oceanside, Fred O. and Gretchen Gibbs of Santa Cruz and Michael J. and Sue Gibbs of Temecula; daughter and son-in-law June Anne and Lee Lehmann of Temecula; and 10 grandchildren.

Born April 25, 1901, in Damascus, she lived in Escondido for 22 years. She was a legal secretary.
Mrs. McGee was preceded in death by her husband, Robert McGee, in 1977. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Norman and Nancy McGee of Sacramento and Willard and Bettie McGee of Escondido; daughter Virginia McGee of Boise, Idaho; grandchildren Teddi Muir, Christine Hawkins, Mike McGee, Jim McGee, Jerry McGee, Bill McGee and Jason McConehey; and 11 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 4, at the Escondido Seventh-day Adventist Church. Inurnment will take place at 2 p.m. Friday, May 5, at East Lawn Memorial Park in Sacramento.

SUN CITY - Barbara Ellen Donnelly, 74, died Saturday, April 29, 2000, at Menifee Valley Medical Center in Sun City.
Born May 24, 1925, in Seattle, she lived in Sun City for 10 years. She was a homemaker for 40 years. She was a newspaper column editor and a member of the PTA and the Serenaders RV Club. She was a volunteer for Boy Scouts of America.
Mrs. Donnelly is survived by her husband, Richard Donnelly of Sun City; sons Dale Donnelly of Huntington Beach, Patrick Donnelly of Oceanside, Russell Donnelly of Westminster and David Romero of Escondido; daughters Lynellen Romero of Escondido and Jewel Tweten-Donnelly of Westminster; sister V. Maryann Waltz of Greenbank, Wash.; and two grandchildren.

Born Sept. 10, 1942, in Chicago, he lived in Escondido for 30 years. He was a customer service representative at NCR for 32 years before retiring in 1994. He was the owner of Cavanaugh's North Bar.
Mr. Cavanaugh is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Gerald R. and Teresa Cavanaugh; daughter Tracy Cavanaugh; brother Jack Cavanaugh; sister Joan Abbott; three grandchildren; and companion Stella Wilson.

Born April 11, 1908, in Hamburg, Germany, she lived in Escondido for 73 years. She was a lemon packer for Sunkist.

Born Aug. 31, 1914, in Santa Monica, she lived in Escondido for 42 years. She was a civil service clerk for 20 years and served in the U.S. Navy as a yeoman during World War II.
Mrs. Norton was preceded in death by her husband, Frank R. Norton, in 1978. She is survived by her sons, Frank L. Norton of San Diego and Jerry Norton of Thousand Oaks; and brother Lyle Hartzell of San Diego.
