OCEANSIDE - Enoch "Chris" Christenson, 75, died Monday, Feb. 14, 2000, at his home.
Born Oct. 12, 1924, in Minnesota, he lived in Oceanside for 23 years. He was a property manager for Arco.
Mr. Christenson is survived by his wife of 50 years, Bernice Christenson of Oceanside; daughter and son-in-law Karen and Robert Loudon of Yakima, Wash.; brothers Arthur Christenson of Shelton, Wash., and Raymond Christenson of Seattle; sister Elaine Berry of Reno, Nev.; and grandchildren Rachelle and Ashley Guisinger of Yakima and Karen B. Guisinger of Yakima.
A memorial service will be held at noon Saturday, Feb. 19, at Oceana Club House No. 2, with the Rev. David Plank officiating. A private cremation is planned.

Mary Ann LaGrotta, 80
FALLBROOK - Mary Ann LaGrotta, 80, died Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2000, in Fallbrook.
Born Dec. 18, 1919, in Chattanooga, Tenn., she lived in Fallbrook for 15 years. She was an assistant volunteer director for KCET/PBS TV station for 12 years.
Mrs. LaGrotta is survived by her husband of 57 years, Joseph Mario LaGrotta of Fallbrook; daughter Patricia Greco of Palm Desert; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A private cremation is planned.

POWAY - Edna Lee Brown, 94, died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2000, in San Diego.
Born Jan. 26, 1906, in Apache, Okla., she lived in Poway for 27 years. She was a housekeeper at the Veteran's Hospital for 27 years.
Mrs. Brown is survived by her son, Martin Brown of Oxnard; daughter Sandra A. Hardison of Poway; sisters Lola Cipola of Minnesota and Fern Sims of Oklahoma; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. today, Feb. 17, at Poway-Bernardo Mortuary, with the Rev. Barry Click officiating. A funeral service is scheduled for 7 p.m. during the visitation. A private interment will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Santa Monica.

James Cotton, 64
TEMECULA - James E. Cotton, 64, died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2000, of cancer, at Pleasant Care of Riverside.
Born Dec. 12, 1935, in San Bernardino, he lived in Temecula for five years. He worked for the Garden Grove Unified School District and served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Temecula Gun Club.
Mr. Cotton was preceded in death by his father, Lester L. Cotton. He is survived by his wife of five years, Grace Cotton of Temecula; mother Eunice F. Cotton of Temecula; sons Dale Cotton of Orange and Kenny Cotton of Palm Springs; daughter Delieu Brancart of Morro Bay; brother Donald Cotton of Temecula; and four grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 21, at Gateway Church of the Nazarene, with the Rev. Coil officiating.

ESCONDIDO - Shirley Anne Marland, 69, died Monday, Feb. 14, 2000, at her home in Escondido.
Born Dec. 26, 1930, in Providence, R.I., she lived in Escondido for 25 years. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Marland was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Marland Jr., in 1988. She is survived by her companion, Wayne Zwink of Escondido; daughters Diane Grooms of Lancaster and Patricia Bednarczyk of Mount Shasta; and three grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, at Allen Brothers Mortuary, San Marcos Chapel, with the Rev. Ryan T. Perkins of Elizabeth Hospice officiating. A private inurnment will take place at Riverside National Cemetery.

FALLBROOK - Anne Rose Salerno, 80, died Friday, Feb. 14, 2000, in Fallbrook.
Born Nov. 22, 1919, in Los Angeles, she lived in Fallbrook for 29 years. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, the Deanery at St. Peter's and Fallbrook Hospital Guild.
Mrs. Salerno was preceded in death by her husband, Sam S. Salerno, in 1996. She is survived by her son, Luke Sam Salerno of Corona; brothers George Clesceri of Hemet and John Clesceri of Anaheim; sister Elizabeth Brunson of Canton, Texas; grandchildren Luke A. Salerno of Encinitas and Rochelle Anne Salerno of Menifee; and great-grandchildren Jake Anthony Salerno and Weston Gray Salerno.
Visitation and viewing were held Wednesday, Feb. 16, at Berry-Bell & Hall Chapel. A Mass was celebrated Thursday, Feb. 17, at St. Peter's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Bud Kaicher officiating. Interment followed at Eternal Hills Memorial Park.

Mozart Maynard, 84
FALLBROOK - Mozart Maurice Maynard, 84, died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2000, in Oceanside.
Born July 13, 2000, in Oceanside, he lived in Fallbrook for 14 years. He was a paper cutter for E.A. Johnson Co. for 15 years before retiring in 1977. He attended Rhode Island School of Design and was an artist.
Mr. Maynard was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Leona Maynard, in 1986. He is survived by his sons, George Maynard of Vista and Maurice Maynard of Fallbrook; brother Paul Maynard of Virginia Beach, Va.; granddaughter Michelle Maynard of Boston; and great-grandson Tyler S. Brown of Boston.
A rosary was recited Thursday, Feb. 17, at Berry-Bell & Hall Chapel. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. today, Feb. 18, at St. Peter's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Bernie Rapp officiating. Inurnment will take place at Notre Dame Cemetery in Pawtucket, R.I.

Robert Huter, 84
RANCHO BERNARDO - Robert O. Huter, 84, died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2000, in Poway.
Born Jan. 15, 1916, in Poway, he lived in Rancho Bernardo for three years. He was retired from the Department of Defense at Hale Koa Hotel in Honolulu and served as an aviation electronics technicians mate 3rd class in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Mr. Huter was preceded in death by his brothers, Louis Huter and Gerard Huter; and his son, Robert Huter Jr. on Jan. 15, 1997. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Audrey Huter of Rancho Bernardo; daughters Carole Pence of Tahoe, Nev., Karen Brown of McLean, Va., and Mary Frances Huter of Corvalis, Ore.; stepdaughter Lezlie Paige of Del Mar; brother Joseph Huter of Morengo, Ill.; sister Bertah Huter of San Diego; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 24, at San Rafael Church in Rancho Bernardo, with the Rev. Bourgeois officiating. A reception will follow at the parish.

Mr. Beck is survived by his brother, Jeffrey L. Beck of Newport Beach.

Born in Long Beach, she lived in San Marcos for six years. She worked for Downey Savings & Loan, retiring in 1996.
Mrs. Pearce is survived by her husband of 15 years, Jerry Pearce of San Marcos; daughter and son-in-law Kali and Richard Hilliard of San Marcos; brother Mike Thompson of Pomona; and grandchildren Michael and Meghin Elliott.

OCEANSIDE - Lindsay Porterfield Garnett, 85, died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2000, at Tri-City Medical Center.
Born Dec. 6, 1914, in Manitoba, Canada, he lived in Oceanside for 32 years. He was in property management before retiring in 1985. He served in the Merchant Marines from 1942 to 1945 and was a member of the Masons, Rotary Club and was a 32 degree Shriner.
Mr. Garnett was preceded in death by his brother, Stewart Garnett. He is survived by his wife, Judy Garnett of Oceanside; daughter Diana Pack of Blythe; sister Amy Carlson of Federal Way, Wash.; grandchildren Brenda McNeiel, Cindy Bennett and Linda May; 11 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and four nephews and their wives.
No service will be held at the request of the deceased. A private cremation is planned.

MENIFEE - Arlene Beverly Eskew, 69, died Friday, Feb. 4, 2000, of heart failure at Loma Linda University Medical Center.
Born Feb. 21, 1930, she lived in Menifee for 10 years. She was a teacher for the Garden Grove School District for 35 years and was a member of the St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Temecula.
Mrs. Eskew is survived by her husband of 49 years, William Eskew of Menifee; son David Eskew of Yorba Linda; daughters Kim Lizardi and Laurie Eskew, both of Orange County; sister Leora Willford of Goleta; and grandchildren Brian, Bradly, Ashley, Kimberly and Tylene.
A celebration of life will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 20, at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Temecula, with the Rev. Charles Sturm officiating.
