Barbieri |
Seeking information
regarding my ancestors named
Giuseppe (Joseph) Barbieri and his
wife, Flora. They came to San
Francisco via Italy. They lived in
San Francisco according to the 1880
census up until 1900 when I lose
track of them. They lived at 1425
1/2 Dupont Street in 1880 and on
Natoma in 1900. Joseph Barbieri
operated a saloon on the Barbary
Coast at 1522 Stockton Street. As
far as my research can tell, they
had one daughter, Mabel, born in
1882. |

Davis |
Ammi Davis and his
family were recorded in the city of
San Francisco in the federal Census
in 1880, living in enumeration
District 57. Listed were Ammi Davis,
head, machine operator; Eva Davis,
spouse, keeping house; and Grace
Davis, daughter, age 3. The family
had been recorded most recently in
1873 in Portsmouth, N.H. The 1900
Census shows additional children:
George Davis, Henry Davis, Florence
Davis and Gladys Davis. I believe
these four children died before
1910. Grace Davis married a man
named Northrup and was an
accomplished singer and voice
teacher under the name Grace
Northrup Davis. Her appearances were
noted numerous times in the Oakland
Tribune newspaper. |

have accompanied him, and he may
have returned to England. |
