VISTA -- Ruth E. Shackelford, 75, died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2000.
Born Sept. 25, 1925, in Harriman, Tenn., she was a resident of Oceanside for 17 years. She was retired from Mobil Home Acceptance Corporation.
Mrs. Shackelford was preceded in death by her father and mother, Samuel and Effie Clower and brother, Clifford Clower. She is survived by her husband, Earl Shackelford of Oceanside; son and daughter-in-law Alex and Jeannie Shackelford of Oceanside; daughters and sons-in-law, Phyllis and Chet Atlas of Encinitas and Beth and Chuck Harris of Carlsbad; brother and sister-in-law Larry and Sterleen Clower of Georgia and four grandchildren.
A private cremation is planned with remains scattered at sea.

ESCONDIDO - Marie Eve Rubiales, aka Eve Marie Patakay, 94, died Thursday, Nov. 23, 2000, at her home.
Born June 22, 1906, in Tucatan, Mexico, she lived in Escondido for two years. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Rubiales Patakay is survived by her sons, Anthony L. Rubiales of Poway; Robert Rubiales of San Jose and James Rubiales of Aurora, Colo.; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Alice Woosley, 83
RAMONA - Alice May Woosley, 83, died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2000, at Pomerado Hospital.
Born Oct. 31, 1917, in Harbor Springs, Mich., she lived in Ramona for 17 years. She graduated from Escondido High School in 1934, was a secretary for Convair aircraft during World War II and worked in her mother's knit shop in Escondido. She played the piano, and enjoyed photography, tennis, travel and animals.
Mrs. Woosley was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Woosley. She is survived by her sons, Lawrence J. Woosley of Ramona and David A. Woosley of Bushnell, Fla.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, at Bonham Bros. & Lee Ramona Chapel. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Oak Hill Memorial Park.

Bernice Neujahr, 83
LONGMONT - Bernice Dexter Neujahr, 83, died Friday, Nov. 24, 2000, at Applewood Living Center in Colorado.
Born Jan. 3, 1917, in Boulder County, Colorado, she lived in Longmont and previously lived in Escondido, San Diego, Denver and Chelsea, Mass. She graduated from Boulder High School and attended Colorado State University. She was a homemaker, a seamstress and pie baker. She enjoyed golf, helping to form the Circle R women's golf club in Escondido and serving as president for two years. She was also a member of several bridge clubs in Escondido.
Mrs. Neujahr was preceded in death by her parents and five sisters. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dick Edmund and Evelyn Neujahr of Longmont; brothers Robert Burns Dexter of Denver and Rodney Clair Dexter of Boulder, Colo.; grandchildren Lisa Marie King and husband Jeffrey Michael King of Frederick, Colo., and Daniel Edmund Neujahr and wife Taryn Estelle Neujahr of Oregon City, Ore.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private family memorial service will take place at a later date. A private cremation is planned.

SUN CITY - Milton Hall, 91, died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2000, at Menifee Valley Medical Center.
Born Feb. 10, 1909, in Pauls Valley, Okla., he was a resident of Sun City since 1962. He was a fireman and drill instructor for 17 years in San Diego County. He was a captain of the La Jolla Fire Department and a member of the Retired Fire and Police Association of San Diego. He belonged to the Shriner's Lodge in Sun City and San Diego. He was also a member of the Sun City Civic Association.
Mr. Hall is survived by his son, Terrance Hall of Washington; niece, Mary Schinnerer of Long Beach; and great-nephews John and Alex Causey of Long Beach.
A private cremation is planned with remains to be scattered off the coast of Orange County.

OCEANSIDE - James T. Jamara, 49, died Sunday, Nov. 12, 2000, in San Diego.
Born Nov. 7, 1951, in Massachusetts, he lived in Oceanside for eight years. He was a training NCO (non-commissioned officer?) for the U.S. Marine Corps.
Mr. Jamara was preceded in death by his mother, Marie Eve Jamar; and his father, Stanley Jamara. He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Francisca Jamara of Oceanside; son Mark Jamara of Oceanside; daughter Blanca Jamara of Oceanside; brother and sister-in-law Richard and Barbara Jamara of Randolph, Mass.; and sisters and brother-in-law Rosemarie and David Hayes of Massachusetts and Sally Jamara of Atlanta.
Viewing will be held from 4 to 8 p.m., with a rosary recited at 7 p.m., today, Nov. 16, at Eternal Hills Mortuary. A Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Friday, Nov. 17, at Mission San Luis Rey. Burial will follow at Riverside National Cemetery.

Born April 5, 1908, in Egland, N.D., she lived in Escondido for 30 years. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Berg is survived by her husband of 72 years, Roy E. Berg of Escondido; sons Robert L. Berg of Costa Mesa and Barry E. Berg of Kissimmee, Fla.; daughter Betty R. Marsh of Bellevue, Wash.; brothers Harold "Bud" Heeter of South Beach, Ore., and George Heeter of Holley, Ore.; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 17, at Alhiser-Comer Mortuary Chapel. A private interment will take place at Oak Hill Memorial Park.

OCEANSIDE - Odie Demery, 75, died Monday, Nov. 13, 2000, of Alzheimer's disease, in Vista.
Born May 22, 1925, in Shamareno, N.M., he lived in Oceanside for 60 years. He was a truck driver and served in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Demery was preceded in death by his wife, Mary V. Demery, in 1991. He is survived by his sons, Phill Demery of Oceanside, Michael Holliday of Chicago and Herman Holliday of San Diego; daughters Arlene Hoskings of Los Angeles and Leler Norris of Oceanside; sisters Elsie Batie of Las Vegas and Julia Pratt of Oceanside; 19 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

ESCONDIDO - Lynn D. Crone, 79, died Friday, Nov. 10, 2000, in Escondido.
Born Nov. 21, 1920, in Waco, Neb., he lived in Escondido for 24 years. He graduated from the University of Southern California and was the owner of C&C Automotive and of two Texaco stations in Miramar and Rancho Bernardo. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Mr. Crone is survived by his wife of 58 years, Alice Loraine Jacobsen Crone of Escondido; sons and daughters-in-law Dennis and Debbie Crone of Burney and Jay and Keri Crone of Bullhead City; daughter and son-in-law Dale and Michael Crawford of Escondido; sister and brother-in-law Jean and Perry VanSky of Loma Linda; grandchildren Michele Shorter, Michael Crone, Robbi Crone, Daniel Crawford and Edward Crawford; great-grandchildren Brittani Ison, Gracee Shorter, Donell Crone, Darin Crone, Dylan Crone, Corey Crone, Casey Mae Crone and Cassie Pitts; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

OCEANSIDE - Shokrollah Hossein Divari, 53, died Sunday, Nov. 12, 2000, at Tri-City Medical Center.
Born June 10, 1947, in Iran, he lived in Oceanside for 14 years. He was a self-employed contractor and served in the Iranian Army.
Mr. Divari is survived by his wife of 13 years, Catherine Bergman of Oceanside; mother Ozra Shoeibi of Minnesota; son Nicholas Divari of Oceanside; brother and sister-in-law Khosrow and Katayoun Divari of Minnesota; and sisters and brothers-in-law Shahain and Shapoor Frozanfar of Oceanside, Parvin and Faridon Attar of Minnesota and Parvaneh and Faridon Moassesfar of Los Angeles.
A funeral service was held Tuesday, Nov. 14, at Eternal Hills Mortuary, with Ahmad Shirazi officiating. Burial followed at Eternal Hills Memorial Park.

ESCONDIDO - Charles F. Wingeback, 98, died Friday, Nov. 10, 2000, in Escondido.
Born March 29, 1902, in New York City, he lived in Escondido for 38 years. He was a self-employed store owner and manager for 15 years.
Mr. Wingebach was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Adda Wingebach, in 1994. He is survived by his daughters, Pamela Fee of Escondido and Hazel DuBarton of Las Vegas; grandchildren James Zink of Escondido, Dawn Graham of Georgia, Anne DuBarton and Julie Zwolinski, both of Las Vegas, and Charles DuBarton of Kingston, Ariz.; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

ESCONDIDO - Lillian E. Claytor, 93, died Saturday, Nov. 11, 2000, at a local hospital.
Born July 22, 1907, in Ringsted, Iowa, she lived in San Diego County for 30 years. She was a housekeeping supervisor for Parkview Hospital for 17 years.
Mrs. Claytor was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Darwin Claytor, in 1997.
No service will be held at the request of the deceased. A private cremation is planned, with cremains to be scattered at sea.

Fay Mann, 81
Fay Henton Chidester Mann, 81, died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2000, in Escondido.
Born May 25, 1919, she lived in Vista, Valley Center and Escondido. She graduated in 1941 from the University of Washington with honors in political science and did graduate studies at Radcliffe in Cambridge, Mass., on a scholarship. She was a volunteer for the Camp Fire Girls and had a love of nature. She was a 40-year-plus member of the San Diego Chapter of the League of Women Voters and supported Planned Parenthood, Children's Defense Fund, the NAACP and the ACLU. She was a supporter of the Sierra Club, the Audubon Society and the Nature Conservancy and a volunteer for the Wilderness Gardens Preserve in Escondido, the Valley Center Library and was a literacy and English as a Second Language instructor.
Mrs. Mann was preceded in death by her first husband, Arthur Chidester, in 1950; her second husband, Bill Mann, in 1983; and her daughter, Linda Chidester Mann Marshall, in 1973. She is survived by her son, Randall Mann of San Diego; daughters Mary Chidester Borevitz of San Marcos, Prudence Moore of Vancouver, British Columbia, and Kit Mann of Blue Lake, Calif.; and six grandchildren.
A memorial service celebrating the life of Fay Mann will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, at the Palomar Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 1600 Buena Vista Drive, Vista, CA 92083
She donated her body to Bio-Tech Anatomical of Lake Elsinore to be used for medical research. Her corneas were donated to the San Diego Eye Bank.

Born June 15, 1924, in Union City, N.J., he lived in Fallbrook for eight years. He was a car salesman for Mercedes-Benz of Van Nuys for 30 years and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Mr. Kaffka is survived by his wife of 54 years, Phyllis M. Kaffka of Fallbrook; sons Philip D. Kaffka of Fallbrook, Stephen R. Kaffka of Davis and Gregory C. Kaffka of Edwards, Colo.; brother Walter Kaffka of Shreveport, La.; sisters Viola O'Rourke of Pallisade, N.J., and Theresa Adelhock of Max Meadows, Va.; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

FALLBROOK - Donald Coursey Farnsworth, 86, died Monday, Nov. 13, 2000, at his home.
Born Feb. 6, 1914, in Williamsville, Va., he lived in Fallbrook for 20 years. He worked for United Eastern Coal Sales Corp. before retiring as president in 1980. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Mr. Farnsworth was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth H. Farnsworth, on April 11, 1999. He is survived by his son, Donald C. Farnsworth Jr. of Fallbrook; daughters Carole Farnsworth Ryan of Belle Mead, N.J., and Pamela Farnsworth Mac Mannis of Darien, Conn.; brother Frederick Farnsworth of Indian Lakes, Fla.; sisters Rosemary Turney of Oceanside and Madeline Ward of Hot Springs, Va.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Born Aug. 11, 1917, in Silvis, Ill., he lived in Ramona for 40 years. He was a construction superintendent and served in the Army Air Corps during World War II.
Mr. Walker is survived by his daughters, Constance Lynn Walker and Anne E. Walker-Jernigan, both of Ramona; and one grandchild.
