POWAY - Faith Marie Koenig, 78, died Sunday, Nov. 12, 2000, in Poway.
Born Aug. 9, 1922, in St. Louis, she lived in Poway for 12 years. She was a bookkeeper for Eli-Walker.
Mrs. Koenig is survived by her sister, Lorna Siden of Rancho Bernardo.
Viewing will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, at Community Lutheran Church. A funeral service will follow at 4 p.m., with the Rev. William Vogelsang Jr. officiating. Interment will take place next week at New Bethlehem cemetery in St. Louis.

Jack Randall, 72
ENCINITAS - Jack Ellis Randall, 72, died Saturday, Oct. 28, 2000, in Encinitas.
Born Sept. 15, 1928, in Santa Monica, he lived in San Marcos since 1995.
He attended Santa Ana High School, Fullerton Junior College and Pepperdine University and served as a captain in the U.S. Air Force.
He worked in sales and management in the aerospace industry and enjoyed golf. He was a member of Oakmont Country Club.
Mr. Randall is survived by his wife, Dottie; sons and daughter-in-law Harold Randall and Geoffrey and Anne Randall; daughters and sons-in-law Alexandrea and J.C. Kinker and Christina and Shane Robley; and grandchildren Randall, Christopher, Cameron, Lindsay, Andrew, Kelsey and Kayla.
A small, private family service will be held at sea on Saturday, Dec. 2.

FALLBROOK - Elaine Blanche Edrington, 79, died Thursday, Nov. 9, 2000, at Tri-City Medical Center.
Born Feb. 13, 1921, in New York City, she lived in Fallbrook for 28 years. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Edrington is survived by her husband, Don Edrington; son Dennis Fugnetti of Orange County; daughter Linda Costello of Fallbrook; sister Jackie Zasieg of Orange County; four grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, at Living Waters Christian Fellowship in Fallbrook, with the Rev. Ronald A. Snider officiating. Interment will follow at Fallbrook Masonic Cemetery.

Jack Olvaney, 79
ESCONDIDO - Jack W. Olvaney, 79, died Saturday, Nov. 11, 2000, in Poway.
Born March 8, 1921, n Michigan City, Ind., he lived in Escondido for 21 years. He was a sales manager for Palomar Truck Corporation and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He enjoyed the outdoors, horses and Notre Dame football.
Mr. Olvaney was preceded in death by his wife, Delores Olvaney, on March 12.
He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, John and Candace Olvaney of Valley Center and Tim and Kim Olvaney of Fallbrook; daughter and son-in-law Judy and Andre Smith of Escondido; brother Thomas "Pat" Olvaney of Escondido; sister Catherine Stellema of Michigan City; and five grandchildren.
Viewing will be held from 4 to 8 p.m., with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. today, Nov. 15, at McLeod Mortuary. A Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, at Resurrection Catholic Church in Escondido. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at Oak Hill Memorial Park.

VISTA - Alvin G. Clausen, 79, died Monday, Nov. 20, 2000, in Vista.
Born Nov. 23, 1920, in Everett, Wash., he lived in Vista. He worked at Clausen Nursery and was a member of Living Waters Christian Fellowship in Fallbrook.
Mr. Clausen was preceded in death by his mother and father. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Evelyn Clausen of Vista; sons and daughter-in-law Gordon and Hope Clausen of Vista and Stephen Clausen of Pala; daughters and sons-in-law Harriet and Cliff Hard of Anaheim and Linda and Marty Harez of San Diego; and eight grandchildren.
Visitation was held Tuesday, Nov. 21, at Eternal Hills Mortuary. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. today, Nov. 22, at Living Waters Christian Fellowship in Fallbrook. Interment will follow at Eternal Hills Memorial Park.

SAN DIEGO - Helen E. Staffieri, 87, died Sunday, Nov. 19, 2000, at Scripps Hospital in Encinitas.
Born Feb. 23, 1913, in Salt Lake City, she lived in San Diego.
Mrs. Staffieri is survived by her sons, David Staffieri of Escondido, Gerald Staffieri of Provo, Utah, Clyde Staffieri of Vancouver, Wash., and Michael Staffieri of Del Mar; daughters Claudia Ann Hackenberg of Vancouver and Toni Lynne Staffieri of Denver; 22 grandchildren; and 36 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. Friday, Nov. 24, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Del Mar First Ward on Torrey Bluff Drive.
A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the church, with Bishop Richard L. Romney officiating.
Interment will take place at 2:30 p.m. following the funeral service at Loma Vista Memorial Park in Fullerton.
Ellen Spiller, 84
RAMONA - Ellen L. Spiller, 84, died Sunday, Nov. 19, 2000, at her home.
Born Feb. 23, 1916, in Marion, Ill., she lived in Fresno for many years before moving to Ramona two years ago.
She was a member of the Neighborhood Baptist Church in Fresno and a volunteer at the local hospital and in rest homes. She enjoyed knitting and ceramics.
Mrs. Spiller was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Spiller.
She is survived by her daughter, Doris C. Smith of Ramona; son James L. Spiller of Manteca; brothers Curtis L. McCown of Jackson, Mich., and James H. McCown of Tucson, Ariz.; six grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 25, at Fresno Memorial Gardens, where she will be buried next to her husband.

ESCONDIDO - Margaret Reynolds, 88, died Sunday, Nov. 19, 2000, at Palomar Medical Center.
Born Oct. 29, 1912, in Johnstown, Pa., she lived in Escondido for three years. She was a kitchen manager for Montgomery County public schools for 35 years, retiring in 1976. She was a member of Aspen Hill Christian Church for many years.
Mrs. Reynolds is survived by her son, Robert E. Reynolds Jr. of Oldsmar, Fla.; daughter Mary Kathleen Dalton of Amissville, Va.; grandchildren Deborah Roberts of Escondido, Toni Ann Reynolds of San Antonio, Denise Afshari of Amissville, Tara Watkins of Damascus, Md., Renee Vasquez of Andrews Air Force Base, Md., and David Dalton of Beltsville, Md.; and great-grandchildren Ciara Watkins, Olivia Aftshari and Emma Roberts.
A graveside service will be held at a later date at Smithland Baptist Church cemetery in Claraville, Va. Burial will follow.

OCEANSIDE - Fred Rick Whiting, 44, died Sunday, Nov. 19, 2000, of a heart attack, in Oceanside.
Born Dec. 13, 1955, in Lowville, N.Y., he lived in Carlsbad and Oceanside for 42 years. He was a heavy equipment operator.
Mr. Whiting was preceded in death by his father, Frederick Harvey Whiting, on Nov. 12, 1977; and his brother, Casey Sullivan Whiting, on May 31, 1998. He is survived by his mother, Claire Dufner of Las Vegas; son Travis Whiting of Oceanside; and sister and brother-in-law Trudy Whiting Madieros and Rick Madieros of South Lake Tahoe.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. today, Nov. 22, at Fallbrook Masonic Cemetery, where he will be buried beside his brother.

PALM SPRINGS - Ruthe Carlson, 77, died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2000, at her home.
Born June 21, 1923, in Boswell, Okla., she lived in Palm Springs and had lived in Vista. She was a homemaker and an office manager for Carlson Construction in Vista for 25 years and co-owner of El Rancho Lodge in Palm Springs for 12 years.
Mrs. Carlson is survived by her husband, Frederick "Suede" of Palm Springs; son Frederick "Rick" Carlson of Palm Springs; sister Virginia Stone of Victorville; brother Tom Isbell of Cleburne, Texas; and two grandchildren.
A funeral service was held Saturday, Nov. 18, at Wiefels & Son Funeral Home. A private interment is planned.

Born Nov. 22, 1906, in Indianapolis, she lived in Orange for one year and previously lived in Escondido.
Mrs. Anderson is survived by her sons, William Anderson of Arizona and Raymond Anderson of Washington; daughter Betty Boone of Nevada; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
