John Wick, 65
SUN CITY - John Curtis Wick, 65, died Tuesday, June 13, 2000, at his work in Temecula.
Born March 18, 1935, in Lordstown, Ohio, he lived in Sun City for four years. He was a land title officer for several title companies throughout Los Angeles and Orange counties for 35 years, including American Title Co. and was co-owner of Graffix in Temecula. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1953 to 1961 and was a member of the American Legion, Perris Post.
Mr. Wick is survived by his wife, Ardith Wick of Sun City; sons Anthony Wick of Apple Valley, Curtis Wick of Valley Center and Timothy Wick of Alta Loma; daughter Vicki Miranda of Irvine; brothers Benjamin Wick and Richard Wick, both of Ohio; sisters Mildred Bailey, Helen Fleming and Jean Garland, all of Ohio; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, June 19, at Miller-Jones Mortuary in Sun City. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Richard Hilleary officiating. Burial will take place at Perris Valley Cemetery.

Kenneth White, 51
OCEANSIDE - Kenneth William White, 51, died Tuesday, June 13, 2000, in Oceanside.
Born May 8, 1949, in Washington, he lived in Oceanside for 38 years. He worked for MCX Complex service stations in Campen and served in the U.S. Army from 1969 to 1971. He was a member of the Ethel P. Thompson, Chapter 95, D.E.S. - P.H. R.A. of Oceanside and a member of the I.O.O.F. 339 Masonic Lodge in Vista.
Mr. White is survived by his mother and father, Camillia and Sug Boyd of Dangerfield, Texas; son Vincent White; daughters Vanessa White and Azile Osinowo, both of Oceanside; brother William Course; sisters Virginia Jones of Oceanside, Carmela White, Rena Boyd, Angie Boyd and Yancy Boyd, all of Los Angeles, and Lisa Boyd of Ypsilante, Mich.; and grandchildren Keith Hall and Natasha and Yulanni Osinowo.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 20, at Oceanside Mortuary.
Minnie Pritchard, 87
ENCINITAS - Minnie L. Pritchard, 87, died Saturday, June 11, 2000, at her home.
Born April 4, 1913, in Paola, Kan., she lived in Encinitas for 40 years and had been in San Diego County for 48 years. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Pritchard was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, George "Fritz" Pritchard, in 1996. She is survived by her sons, Alvin Eugene Pritchard of Ramona and Gary Wayne Pritchard of Encinitas; daughter Marcia Pritchard-Leonard of Vista; grandchildren Danny, Denise and Wendy Pritchard; great-grandchildren Nathan and Cody Pritchard; and a large extended family.

Alfred Martinez, 69
VISTA - Alfred V. Martinez, 69, died Tuesday, June 13, 2000, at his home.
Born Dec. 11, 1930, in Bonsall, he lived in Vista. He worked for the civil service at Camp Pendleton, retiring in 1989. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of St. Marcus in San Marcos and BPOE 1561 in Oceanside.
Mr. Martinez was preceded in death by his son, Richard Martinez, in September 1999. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Mary Martinez of Vista; sons and daughter-in-law Joe and Terri Martinez of Anza and David Martinez of Vista; daughters and son-in-law Kathryn Hearn and Doris Martinez, both of Temecula, Sandra and Ronald Williams of Vista and Marlene Martinez of Leucadia; sisters and brothers-in-law Christina and Louie Gonzales and Mary and Hank Diaz, both of Oceanside.
A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Monday, June 19, at Eternal Hills Mortuary Chapel, with the Rev. Burt Boudoin officiating. ESCONDIDO - Rowena Hanson, 64, died Wednesday, June 14, 2000, in Santa Monica.
Born Jan. 5, 1936, in Start, La., she lived in Escondido for one year. She was the owner/operator of horse boarding stables in San Juan Capistrano.
Mrs. Hanson is survived by her husband of 46 years, Ronald B. Hanson of Escondido; sons Randy Hanson and Roland Hanson, both of Escondido, and Rick Hanson and Rusty Hanson, both of San Juan Capistrano; daughters Robin Cresswell of Friedensburg, Pa., and Roxanne Euhus of Escondido; brother Charles W. Slocum of Wellton, Ariz.; sisters Jane Provence of Springerville, Ariz., Phyllis Strickland of Casa Grande, Ariz., and Sheila Brugh of Phoenix; and 15 grandchildren.

Mrs. Yesulis was preceded in death by her husband, William Yesulis. She is survived by her sister, Angie Cokins of Cardiff;
sister-in-law and brother-in-law George and Julie Benning of Illinois; and many nephews and nieces.

Born Jan. 1, 1906, in New Jersey, she lived in Vista for 32 years. She was an elementary school teacher for the Madison, N.J. schools for 35 years and was a member of the Retired Teachers Association of California and New Jersey and the American Association of University Women, Vista Womens Club, Los Amigos and Grace Presbyterian Church.
No formal service is planned. A private cremation is planned with cremains to be scattered at sea.

CARLSBAD - Edward Thomas Tholke, 77, died Thursday, June 15, 2000, at his home.
Born May 29, 1923, in Chicago, he lived in Carlsbad and Oceanside for 20 years. He was an administrative assistant for the National Parent Teachers Association for 25 years and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Mr. Tholke is survived by his wife, Louise Kathryn Tholke of Oceanside; daughters Dorrie Rapp of White River Junction, Texas, and Jill Two Feathers of Oroville; and two grandchildren.

Mrs. Kress was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph A. Kress, on Nov. 13, 1997. Ms. Hill was preceded in death by his brothers, Herbert Snow and Joseph Snow. She is survived by her son, Gordon R. Hill of Rancho Bernardo; and grandchildren Ratana Kamlong of and David and Michael Hill, all of San Diego.

Born Sept. 29, 1923, in Cornelia, Ga., he lived in San Diego County for 43 years. He was the assistant athletic director for the civil service at Camp Pendleton for 20 years. He served in the U.S. Navy for 21 years and was past exalted ruler from 1973 to 1974 of BPOE 1561 in Oceanside.
Mr. Gabrels is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mildred Gabrels of Oceanside; brother Frank Gabrels of Clemson, S.C.; sister Jenny Skelly of Fort Meyers, Fla.; sister-in-law Betty Landers of Houston; nephew Donald Landers of Houston; nieces Donna Jose of Ramona and Janet Shomette of Houston; and many friends and Elks family.

Born April 16, 1941, in Ontario, Canada, she lived in Oceanside for 38 years. She worked in environmental services at Tri-City Medical Center, retiring after 15 years. She was a volunteer for Art Alive and Fraternity House.
Mrs. O'Brien is survived by her son, Michael O'Brien of San Diego; daughter and son-in-law Erin and Randy State of Oceanside; sister Dianne Day of Santee; grandchildren Tyler and Trevor State; niece Suzy Day of Portland, Ore.; and nephew Phillip Day of Santee.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
