Harvey Moose, 82
VISALIA - Harvey E. Moose, 82, died Wednesday, May 31, 2000, of pneumonia.
Born Aug. 15, 1917, in Branchton, Pa., he lived in Visalia and previously lived in Escondido. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 27 years, retiring as colonel in 1963. He was the director of material and vice president of General Dynamics Astronautics, retiring in 1979.
Mr. Moose was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine Moose. He is survived by his sons, William J. Moose of Manassas, Va., and Jon G. Moose of Eatonville, Wash.; daughter Christina J. Moose of Monrovia; brother Alvin Moose of Heritage, Pa.; sister JoAnne McCarty of Fort Pierce, Fla.; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 7 to 9 a.m. Monday, June 5, at Hadley's Funeral Chapel in Visalia. A memorial service will follow at 9 a.m.. Burial will take place at Visalia District Cemetery.

FALLBROOK - Robert "Bob" Dempsey, 41, died Wednesday, May 3, 2000, at his home.
Born Feb. 23, 1959, in California, he lived in Fallbrook.
Mr. Dempsey was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Patrick Dempsey. He is survived by his wife, Sandra J. Dempsey of Fallbrook; mother Dorothy E. Dempsey of San Diego; and brothers Ralph Patrick Dempsey Jr. of Poway and John Watson Dempsey of San Diego.

CARLSBAD - Violet B. Wiehle, 93, died Tuesday, May 30, 2000, in Carlsbad.
Born June 20, 1906, in Aspen, Colo., she lived in Carlsbad for 75 years. She was a self-employed produce broker and a member of Actruistic Club for business and professional women.
Mrs. Wiehle was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel C. Wiehle in November 1994; son Thomas H. Wiehle; and daughter Shirley M. Wiehle. She is survived by her son, Dan Wiehle Jr. of Arizona; daughter Estelle J. Dunham of Livermore; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 5, at Eternal Hills Mortuary. Interment will follow.

Robert Rousseau, 70
POWAY - Robert Henri Rousseau, 70, died Tuesday, May 30, 2000.
Born March 9, 1930, in Springfield, Mass., he lived in Poway for 26 years. He was a service representative for Hamilton Standard Flightcraft for 29 years and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1955. He was a member of the Ford Mustang Club of San Diego and Mazsa Miatta Club of San Diego.
Mr. Rousseau is survived by his daughters and son-in-law, Donna Rousseau of Cardiff and Laura and Michael D. Smith of San Diego.
A graveside service was held Friday, June 2, at Dearborn Memorial Park.

William Lewis, 72
ESCONDIDO - William C. Lewis, 72, died Saturday, May 27, 2000, in Escondido.
Born Aug. 23, 1927, in Salinas, he lived in Escondido for 34 years. He was the owner of Lewis & Associates Building Designers and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
Mr. Lewis is survived by his wife of 35 years, Brenda P. Lewis of Escondido; mother Esther Schupbach of Escondido; sons Stephen C. Lewis and Michael Scott Lewis, both of Escondido; daughter and son-in-law Erica Susan Elizabeth Lewis and Frank Cuozo of Boulder, Colo.; and brothers Robert Lewis of Escondido and Barry Schupbach of Arcadia.

ESCONDIDO - Viola Faye Vanorstran, 83, died Monday, May 29, 2000, at Palomar Medical Center.
Born June 7, 1916, in Thayer, Kan., she lived in Escondido for two years and previously lived in Valley Center for 25 years. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Vanorstran was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, William Vanorstran, in 1995. She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law James and Joyce Vanorstran of Escondido and Donald W. Vanorstran of Cardiff; daughter and son-in-law Linda and Vincent Arvin of San Marcos; brothers Dick Kern and Bob Kern, both of Kansas; sisters Betty Whitaker and Lavina Nelson, both of Kansas; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Born May 21, 1967, in Minot, N.D., he lived in San Marcos for two years. He was a self-employed painting contractor and a soccer team coach.
Mr. Bryson was preceded in death by his mother, Victoria Bryson, in 1997; and his father, James Bryson, in 1988. He is survived by his wife of eight years, Yolanda Marie Bryson of San Marcos; mother-in-law Nancy Gangi of Escondido; father-in-law and step-mother-in-law Ron and Carrie Gangi of Temecula; son Adam Joseph Bryson of San Marcos; brother Donald Jason Yzbicki of Arizona; sister Susan Miranda of Oceanside; uncle Claude, Albert, Joseph and Victor Wolfe aunt Kathy Love; and three nieces.

Born Dec. 6, 1926, in Texas, he lived in Escondido for nine years. He worked for oil drilling and mining companies for 40 years, retiring in 1971. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Mr. Rolen was preceded in death by his daughter, Denise Thayer, in 1998. He is survived by his companion of nine years, Margaret Thayer of Escondido; five daughters; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

SUN CITY - Rose Wheeler Cummings, 80, died Wednesday, May 31, 2000.
Born Dec. 16, 1919, in Fullerton, she lived in Sun City for six years. She graduated from Fullerton High School and attended Fullerton Junior College. She was a homemaker and served in the Women's Army Corps, from 1943 to 1944, and in the Women's Air Force, from 1948 to 1954.
Mrs. Cummings was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Cummings, in December 1991. She is survived by her son, Joseph V. Cummings of Fullerton; daughters and son-in-law Kathleen and Mark Haymaker of Rawlins, Wyo., and Clara C. McFarland of Sun City; sister Clara R. Trout of Sun City; and grandchildren Leslie C. McFarland and Shawna R. McFarland, both of Sun City, and Andrea J. Haymaker of Rawlins.

Born June 13, 1916, in Alleheny, Pa., he lived in Vista for 30 years. He owned and operated Les's Service Station in Huntington Beach for more than 25 years and Cactus & Pine Tree Wholesale Grower in Vista for 30 years. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Mr. Potts was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy Ruth Potts, in 1998. He is survived by his daughters, Beverly Hall of Vista, Judith D'Arnall of Escondido and Linda Miller of Moreno Valley; grandchildren Terri Hodson, Kevin Hall, Dennis D'Arnall, Darrell D'Arnall, Scott Hall, Dorlynn Gallego, Paul Miller Jr., Steven Miller and Katie Miller; and great-grandchildren Bryan Gallego, Emilee D'Arnall, Donne' D'Arnall and Douglas D'Arnall.

Mrs. Beck is survived by her husband, Harold G. Beck of Escondido; son Eugene K. Beck of El Cajon; daughter Kathleen Moore of San Diego; brothers John Locher and Matt Locher, both of Ohio; and six grandchildren.
