ESCONDIDO - Jeanne Marie Linthicum, 68, died Saturday, July 22, 2000, at her home.
Born Oct. 3, 1931, in Detroit, Mich., she lived in Escondido. She graduated from Oceanside High School in 1948 and attended Oceanside Junior College. She served as trustee on the Escondido Library Board for 10 years and was a member of Friends of the Library, Pop Werner, School Parents Club, Republican Women's Club, Christian Women's Club, East End Club and Hidden Valley Christian Church. She volunteered as a pink lady and was a committee member of Hidden Valley Heritage.
Mrs. Linthicum was preceded in death by her brother, Ernest Brown, in 1998. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, George M. Linthicum of Escondido; son, George M. Linthicum II of Escondido; daughters and sons-in-law Martha and Robert Jennings, Beverly and Scott Watson, Donna and Peter Wicklund, all of Escondido, and Ann and William Sandell of Mohave Valley, Ariz.; sisters and brothers-in-law Maurine and Doug Eggers of Escondido and Sue Mennill of London, Ontario, Canada; brother and sister-in-law James and Nancy Brown of Scottsdale, Ariz. 11 grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 26, at Oak Hill Cemetery. A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 26, at Hidden Valley Christian Church in Escondido.

William Christensen, 71
VISTA - William Robert Christensen, 71, died Thursday, July 20, 2000, at his home in Vista.
Born April 30, 1929, in Racine, Wis., he lived in Vista for 35 years. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps for 22 years, retiring as a master gunnery sergeant. He was a Merchant Marine during World War II and served in the Korean and Vietnam wars, earning a Silver Star and a Purple Heart with two stars.
Mr. Christensen is survived by his wife of 30 years, Mary C. Christensen of Vista; sons and daughter-in-law J. Kristopher and Sheri Leppien-Christensen of San Marcos and William Robert Christensen II of Vista.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., with a rosary recited at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 26, at Allen Bros. Mortuary, Vista Chapel. A funeral service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, July 27, at the mortuary, with the Rev. Kenneth Kieffer of St. Thomas More Catholic Church officiating.
Interment will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, July 21, at Riverside National Cemetery, Staging Area 5, with full military honors.

HUNTINGTON PARK - Cruz Millan, 94, died Thursday, July 20, 2000, of kidney failure.
Born May 18, 1906, in Sonora, Mexico, she lived in Huntington Park for 50 years. She worked for Babyline Furniture before retiring in 1950.
Mrs. Millan was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Millan, in 1976. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Beatrice and Joe Castorena of Oceanside; grandchildren Joe Castorena Jr. of Trubuca Canyon and Emma Strano and Gilda Warnemuende, both of Oceanside; great-grandchildren Brian Castorena, Michele Castorena, Angela Castorena, Steve Strano, Debra Sivanich, Lynn Warnemuende, Lisa Warnemuende and Danny Warnemuende; and great-great-grandchildren Kristin Symth, Randy Garvin, Jordan Strano, Christopher Sivanich, Anna Sivanich, Matthew Sivanach and Nickolas Duong.
Visitation will be held at 3 p.m., with a rosary recited at 7 p.m., today, July 25, at Douglas & Moreland South Gate Mortuary, with the Rev. Vincent officiating. A funeral Mass will be celebrated and a graveside service held at 9 a.m. Wednesday, July 26, at St. Martha Catholic Church in Huntington Park, with the Rev. Vincent officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary cemetery in Los Angeles.
E. Darwin Hartshorn, 64
RAMONA - E. Darwin Hartshorn, 64, died Wednesday, July 12, 2000, in Ramona.
Born Aug. 3, 1935, in Santa Ana, he lived in Ramona for 33 years. He worked for Fed Co., retiring in 1997, and was a member of the First Christian Church in Ramona and the Pomerado Christian Church in Poway. He was a 1954 graduate of Newport Harbor High School in Newport Beach and a 1956 graduate of Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa.
Mr. Hartshorn is survived by his wife of 44 years, H. Joy Hartshorn of Ramona; sons and daughters-in-law Earle and Betty Hartshorn of Grand Rapids, Minn., and Mark and Lori Hartshorn of Star Prairie, Wis.; daughters and sons-in-law Darlene and David Anderson of McCord Air Force Base in Washington and Donna and Minton Miller of Grand Rapids; brother Darrel Hartshorn of Anaheim; sister Hester Moor of Costa Mesa; and 13 grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 29, at First Christian Church in Ramona. A private cremation is planned.

Born July 27, 1924, in Detroit, Mich., she lived in Oceanside for seven years.
Mrs. Schwartz was preceded in death by her son, Ronald Schwartz, in October 1978. She is survived by her husband, Raymond Schwartz of Oceanside; sons and daughters-in-law Thomas and Marilyn Schwartz of North Carolina, Mark Schwartz, Glen and Amy Schwartz and Bruce and Melissa Schwartz, all of Michigan, and Gary Schwartz of Oceanside; daughters and sons-in-law Theresa Schwartz of Michigan, Suzanne and Michael Lookman of Orange and Nancy and David Schacher of Whittier; and 11 grandchildren.

Born April 9, 1919, in Madison, Maine, he lived in Oceanside for 18 years. He worked as an auto mechanic for various companies before retiring in 1997 and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Mr. O'Reilly is survived by his wife of 24 years, Aura O'Reilly of Oceanside; son Wayne O'Reilly of Needles; daughters Celeste O'Reilly and Cheryl O'Reilly, both of Pleasanton, and Carole Harper of Danville; stepdaughters Suzanne Sexton and Marilyn Martino; sister Jean Hofmann of Tulsa, Okla.; grandchildren Kaitlin and Cardy Harper and Channon and Timothy O'Reilly; and great-grandson Adam O'Reilly.

Born Oct. 10, 1937, in Matoon, Ill., he lived in Poway for 26 years. He was an engineer technician and served in the U.S. Navy, retiring after 30 years. He was a member of CORVA, the National Rifle Association and the Blue Ribbon Coalition.
Mr. Peterson is survived by his wife of 43 years, Linda L. Peterson of Poway; son Robert Peterson of Poway; daughter Theresa Shields of Poway; sister Beverly A. Sims; and four grandchildren.

Born March 9, 1974, in Bellflower, she lived in Temecula for four years. She graduated from Valencia High School and was a 1996 cum laude graduate of Colorado State University. She was attending Pacific School of Oriental Medicine in San Diego. She was a member of Colorado State University Swim Team and a volunteer for breast cancer awareness.
Ms. Watson is survived by her parents, William and Marilyn Watson of Temecula; brother Wayne Warwick of Yorba Linda; sister A. Leilani Eazell of Placentia; and grandparents Helen Taylor of Placentia and Mattie Pearsall of Washington, D.C.

Born Dec. 5, 1918, in Fenton, Mich., she lived in Sun City for 16 years. She was a bookkeeper for Boulevard Buick in Long Beach for 20 years and a volunteer for Menifee Valley Medical Center. She was a member of the Sun City Women's Club and Sun City Crescent Club.
Mrs. Cooper is survived by her sons, Gary Cooper of Huntington Beach and Richard Cooper of Puyallup, Wash.; daughters Judy Bassett of Sun City and Cherie Baughman of California; brother Mark Yates of West Branch, Mich.; 10 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Born Aug. 22, 1912, in Baton Rouge, La., he lived in Murrieta for one year. He worked as a welder in the aerospace industry for Strattos in El Segundo for 60 years, retiring in 1977. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1929 to 1938 and was a member of Redondo Beach Masonic Lodge and Shriners.
Mr. Richardson is survived by his son, Lee Richardson of Temecula; four grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Born Aug. 16, 1926, in Milwaukee, he lived in Escondido for 11 years. He was a financial consultant before retiring in 1982.
Mr. Herkert was preceded in death by his brother. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Lillian Herkert of Escondido; stepmother Rosetta H. Herkert of Rancho Bernardo; son and daughter-in-law Richard and Mary Herkert of Escondido; daughter and son-in-law Carol and Kevin Hurley of Laguna Niguel; and grandchildren Jennifer, Kristin, Adam, Amanda, Courtney, Kyle and Carly.

ESCONDIDO - Isaac Dominguez, 74, died Monday, July 24, 2000, at Sunbridge West.
Born Nov. 29, 1925, in Yuma, Ariz., he lived in Escondido for 39 years. He was an electrical engineer for General Dynamic before retiring in 1990. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War.
Mr. Dominguez is survived by his wife of 40 years, Kathleen Dominguez of Escondido; sons Christopher C. Dominguez and Michael Dominguez, both of Long Beach; daughter and son-in-law Gloria A. and Daryl Eagleton of Escondido; brother Francisco Fernandez of El Centro; nephews David Marrufo and Eugene Gonzalez, both of Escondido; and grandchildren Veronica A. Eagleton and Darryl G. Eagleton II.

OCEANSIDE - Robert Cowan Perkins II, 84, died Friday, July 21, 2000, at his home.
Born Jan. 7, 1916, in Worcester, Mass., he lived in Oceanside for 10 years. He graduated from Classical High School in Worcester, earned a bachelor of science degree in entomology from the University of Massachusetts and received his master of science degree in forestry from Yale Forestry School. He was a buyer of wood and valuable metals used in the war effort during World War II. He ran the B.F. Marsh company and was amember of the Unitarian Church in Barre, Mass. and founder of the Barre Boys' Club.
Mr. Perkins was preceded in death by his brother, Frederick Perkins and John Perkins; and his sister, Clara Perkins. He is survived by his wife, Grace Brown Perkins of Oceanside; sisters Mary N. Baxter of Shrewsbury, Mass., and Isabel R. Jolma of Gardner, Mass.; brother Milton H. Perkins of Worthington, Mass.; children Lee Perkins of Alexandria, Va., Carol Georgopoulos of Salt Lake City, Stephen W. Perkins of Montague, Mass., Robert W. Perkins II of Worthington, Harriet A. Born Jan. 26, 1917, in Midland, Mich., he lived in Menifee for 14 years. He was a tool engineer for Day and Night Manufacturing in the City of Industry for 45 years. He served in the U.S. Army from 1945 to 1946.
