VISTA - Florence Evelyn Boyer, 98, died Friday, July 7, 2000, at Life Care Center of Vista.
Born Jan. 31, 1902, in Milwaukee, she lived in Vista for 47 years. She was a secretary for USO Traveler's Aide for seven years.
Mrs. Boyer is survived by her nephews, Robert Richter and Alan Richter, both of Riverside.

Tony Montes, 65
OLIVENHAIN - Tony Montes, 65, died Wednesday, July 5, 2000, in Encinitas.
Born May 9, 1935, in San Diego, he lived in Olivenhain for 65 years. He worked for the Civil Service before retiring in April 2000.
Mr. Montes was preceded in death by his wife, Lydia Montes in October 1999. He is survived by his daughters, Debbie Montes and Vicki Montes, both of Olivenhain; four brothers; six sisters; and three grandchildren.
Viewing will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a rosary recited at 7 p.m., today, July 12, at St. Leo's Catholic Church in Solana Beach. A Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 13, at the church, with the Rev. Purcell officiating. Entombment will follow at Eternal Hills Memorial Park.

SAN MARCOS - Jeanne Roush, 63, died Sunday, July 9, 2000, at her home.
Born Feb. 2, 1937, in Panama, Okla., she lived in San Marcos for 10 years. She was a homemaker for 24 years and a member of Palomar Heights Assembly of God Church.
Mrs. Roush is survived by her husband of 24 years, Robert Roush of San Marcos; son Gregory West of San Antonio, Texas; daughters and sons-in-law Andrea and Calvin Cooper, Lisa and Bill Grefe, all of San Marcos, Holly Roush, Canda Steiner, Bobbie Roush and Coralee Struble; brother Shorty Schrader of Wheatland; sisters Dotty Posey of Sacramento and Eunice McCree of Marysville; and grandchildren Lesly Grefe, Jana Steiner, Isaac Steiner, Seth West, Morgan West, Tammy Cooper, Melissa Silvestrini and Chaz Struble.

Marlin Sellers, 57
ESCONDIDO - Marline H. Sellers, 57, died Sunday, July 9, 2000, at Palomar Medical Center.
Born Sept. 14, 1942, in Hershey, Pa., he lived in Escondido. He graduated from Annville-Cleona High School in 1960 and earned a bachelor of science degree at National University in San Diego. He served in the U.S. Navy in Vietnam and was a quality control inspector for General Electric of San Marcos and worked in quality control with Cardinal Industries in Lancaster.
Mr. Sellers was preceded in death by his son, Charles N. Sellers; and brother Ralph H. Sellers. He is survived by his mother; brothers Carl Sellers of Lebanon, Pa., and Glenn Sellers of Cleona, Pa.; sisters and brothers-in-law Arlene and Harold Nelson of Cleona and Barbara and Barry Hostetter of Annville; and granddaughter Christina Sellers.
Visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, July 13, at Kreamer Funeral Home in Annville. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 Friday, July 14, at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Mount Annville Cemetery.

James Stamm, 71
KINGMAN, Kan. - James H. Stamm Sr., 71, died Thursday, July 6, 2000, of cancer, at Kingman Community Hospital.
Born Oct. 17, 1928, in Cleveland, Ohio, he lived in Escondido and San Marcos for more than 25 years. He was in the plastering business for more than 40 years and served in the U.S. Army, the U.S. Marine Corps and the U.S. Navy in the Seabee Reserves.
Mr. Stamm is survived by his wife of 42 years, Barbara Stamm; sons James Stamm Jr. of Baker, La., Bill Stamm of Escondido and Mike Stamm of Kingman; daughters Tina Irvin of Clearwater, Fla., Valerie Frank of Houston; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Tuesday, July 11. Burial will take place at Walnut Hill cemetery in Kingman.
Nancy Formanek, 65
SUN CITY - Nancy Lee Formanek, 65, died Thursday, July 6, 2000, of cancer, at her home.
Born June 21, 1935, in Bay City, Mich., she lived in Sun City for six years. She was a homemaker for 45 years.
Ms. Formanek is survived by her husband, Ralph Formanek of Sun City; sons Michael Thams of Alta Loma and Gary Thams of Rancho Cucamonga; stepsons David Formanek of Lakeside and Dan Formanek of Bonsall; daughters Kimberly Gross of Carlsbad and Chanda Tingler of Virginia; stepdaughters Cheryl Anthony of Lake Elsinore and Gale Formanek of Winchester; 16 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Born July 11, 1931, in Guelph Ontario, Canada, he lived in Menifee for 10 years. He was an auditor for Western and Southern Insurance Co. in Ohio for 30 years. He was a member of Menifee Lakes Country Club and Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Westminster.
Mr. Egan is survived by his wife, Shirley Egan of Menifee; son Michael Egan of Murrieta; daughters Susan Newman of Temecula and Nancy Inlow and Carolyn Fick, both of Sun City; brothers Patrick Egan and Frank Egan, both of Ontario, Canada; and six grandchildren.

Born Jan. 18, 1912, in Brashear, Mo., he lived in Simi Valley for six years and had lived in Sun City for 19 years. He was a material analyst for Litton Systems for 20 years.
Mr. Fowler is survived by his wife, Arleita Fowler of Simi Valley; son Russell Fowler of Simi Valley; daughters Gail Rich and Kristina Fowler, both of Simi Valley; and two grandchildren.

ESCONDIDO - Bob Betts, 61, died Monday, July 3, 2000, of a heart attack, in Fair Oaks.
Born Aug. 1, 1938, in Salt Lake City, he lived in Escondido for 28 years. He was a software engineer for NCR Corporation for 29 years and was the head supervisor for the city of Escondido Adult Softball program for 23 years.

Harold Pio, 83
RAMONA - Harold J. Pio, 83, died Tuesday, July 11, 2000, at his home.
Born June 28, 1917, in Archbold, Ohio, he lived in Ramona since 1944. He joined the Civilian Conservation Corps at age 16 and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was an aircraft metalsmith for North Island Naval Air Station for 32 years, retiring as foreman, and built the first PL-2 experimental airplane. He was a member of the Gray Panthers exercise group.
Mr. Pio is survived by his wife of 59 years, Eleanor K. Pio of Ramona; sons David Pio of Ramona, Richard Pio of Alaska, Donald Pio of San Diego and Ronald Pio of La Mesa; sister Avanelle Burns of Creston; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was a member of Associates for Contemporary San Diego, the San Diego-Imperial Girl Scout Council, serving as sustaining membership chairman in 1970, Las Hermanas Chapter of the Children's Home Society, and the Women's Committee for the 25th Annual Flag & General Officer's Ball sponsored by the San Diego Chamber of Commerce.
Mrs. Bowers is survived by her husband of 57 years, Jack L. Bowers of Pauma Valley; sons Bruce Neel Bowers of Parker, Ariz., and Steven Scott Bowers of Menlo Park; daughters Anna Bowers Davidson of West Linn, Ore., and Robin Bowers Manos of Cold Springs Harbor, N.Y.; and grandchildren Ryan Neel Bowers, Berkley Ann Bowers, Geoffrey Scott Bowers, Andrew Kevin Bowers, Rachel Lauren Davidson and Max Bowers Manos.
