and Clara Rosalie Hummel
dated 28 Mar 1912. Sam was living on
a "ranch" 7 miles from Maxwell on 20
Mar 1912 as documented in a postcard
I have in my possession. She had
traveled from Wenona, IL to a
boarding house on Van Ness Ave. in
San Francisco to meet him for their
marriage. They met in Wenona but she
traveled to California alone, and
after he did. I've checked San
Francisco records already to no
avail.
