Here are two fotos of the gravestone for Ernest Scharnhorst. He
is the 5th of 10 children of Fred Henry and Josephine Scharnhorst.
Father born in Hanover, and immigrated around 1850. Mother born
in California of parents born in Mexico and California. He
married Annie Elizabeth Kattestaart between 1900 and 1910 and had one
child, Ernest Otto, in 1921. He (apparently) took over the Merced
Co land of his younger brother Louis (who died in 1907), but later
lived in O'Neal Township, San Joaquin Co.
