Sue Lucas writes about this article: "I have included a third clipping that also relates to Gazelle. It describes a Red Cross fundraising even held at the Edson Home. It conjures up some wonderful images of the time. By reading around the edges of the clipping I have come to the conclusion that they were supporting the troops during the Spanish-American War. If you note the line 'Enemy retreated toward Santiago.' at the top of the clipping, that could refer to The Battle of Santiago, July 3, 1898. That's my guess."
