Charles Edward "Ed" Farrell was one of eleven children born to Milton Farrell and Margaret (Dalton) Farrell on October 7, 1876 in Millville.
His father, born in Virginia in 1823, came west with the First Dragoons (Calvary) in 1859 to the Fall River area. His mother, Margaret Jane Dalton, came west in 1850 by wagon train from Cincinnati, Ohio to Shasta County with her parents, Thomas and Rebecca Dalton and one sister, Polly Ann. She was one of only seven females in Shasta County in 1850, three of whom were under 9 years of age.
Anna Marie Chase and Charles Edward Farrell were married at Hanford in September of 1905. They met in Shingletown, where her father, Benjamin Franklin Chase had a sawmill. He and his wife, Elvira Jane (Hamilton) Chase, had moved there with their family from Mill Creek Canyon. Mill Creek is where Anna was born on August 24, 1888.
Ed and Anna came back to Shasta County soon after their marriage and
remained there the rest of their lives. They had seven children:

Anna died on February 1, 1942 and both she and Ed, are buried in the Masonic Cemetery at Millville, California.
