Dated: 31st May 1853 Filed: 21 July 1853 First......all funeral expenses are to be paid as soon as possible out of first moneys...from any portion of my estate. Also, I direct that the produce of my personal Estate be sold, disposed of as soon as can be done after my growing crop matures and is marketable....and I hereby rest in my executors full power to dispose of the same for cash and the net proceeds of which as well as any other moneys I bequeath to my beloved wife, Elizabeth M. Talbot, in the State of Louisiana..... . My claim in real estate I have sold to Stephen I. Easley and A.S. Logan. I hold their bond for cultivation of ten acres in Onions to be belivered at Alviso in good conditition next year 1854. The net proceeds of which I also bequeath to my wife Elizabeth M. Talbot.....at her decease her estate, whatever it may be, to be divided equally amongst our children, their heirs or representatives. And should my wife Elizabeth M. Talbot, die before she receives the whole or in part of my estate, then I direct that the same be equally divided amonst my children. I do hereby make my son, Matthew J.
