Dolores Castro, 95
CARLSBAD - Dolores Castro, 95, died Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2000, at Tri-City Medical Center.
Born Jan. 29, 1905, in Cananea, Mexico, she lived in Carlsbad for 60 years. She was a homemaker for 80 years and a member of St. Patrick Church in Carlsbad since 1940 and the seniors center.
Mrs. Castro was preceded in death by her husband, Jose Castro, on Oct. 22, 1982. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Peter and Cecelia Castro of Prescott, Ariz., and Joe and Irene Castro of Carlsbad; daughters and sons-in-law Mickie Pinmentel, Esther Ramos, Sarah and Alex Valdiveso and Celia and Ray Jimenez, all of Carlsbad; sister Ramona Alvarado of Carlsbad; 18 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m., with a vigil at 7 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 29, at Eternal Hills Mortuary. A Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 30, at the mortuary. A graveside service will follow.
Ray Haugh, 72
VISTA - Ray Haugh, 72, died Saturday, Oct. 21, 2000, in Vista.
Born Dec. 5, 1928, in Minnesota, he lived in Vista and Lake San Marcos for four years. He was a building engineer who oversaw high rise commercial buildings for 40 years. He was the president of the North County Cycling Club and the San Diego Building Engineers Association.
Mr. Haugh is survived by his wife of 28 years, Lola Haugh of Vista; sons Mike Haugh and Steve Haugh, both of California; stepdaughters Jann Neidhard of Missouri and Karen Sexton of Oregon; and five grandchildren.
Robert Tolstad, 78
ESCONDIDO - Robert R. Tolstad, 78, died Saturday, Oct. 21, 2000, in Escondido.
Born Dec. 8, 1921, in Valley City, N.D., he grew up in National City. He attended San Diego State University and graduated from the University of Southern California, where he was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. He served as a navigator on a B 17 in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II and worked for Standard Oil. He founded Campbell-Tolstad Stationers in Westwood Village, working there until retiring in 1979.
Mr. Tolstad was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy C. Tolstad. He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Scott and Ginny Tolstad of Valley Center and Jeff and Michele of Manchester, N.H.; sister Marlys Skinner of Redding; and four grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 30, at the Valley Center Cemetery.
Alfred Hadley, 96
FALLBROOK - Alfred Leland Hadley, 96, died Monday, Oct. 23, 2000, at Fallbrook Hospital.
Born Dec. 16, 1903, in Yukon Territory, Canada, he lived in Fallbrook. He was a service manager for Monroe Calculating Machines for 35 years and served as a Boy Scout leader for more than 30 years, receiving the Silver Beaver Award. He was also a member of the Sea Explorers and was an Auxiliary Deputy Sheriff. He served on the board of directors for Jocelyn Senior Center and was a member of the California Department of Aging, Health Insurance, Counseling and Advisory Program. He was in the ROTC at Colorado A&M and served in the military as an air raid warden during World War II. He helped build the longest tunnel in the U.S. through the Cascade Mountains.
Mr. Hadley is survived by his wife of 65 years, Cecilia E. Hadley of Fallbrook; sons David G. Hadley of Fallbrook and Peter A. Hadley of Vienna; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m., with a rosary recited at 6 p.m., today, Oct. 26, at Berry-Bell & Hall Mortuary Chapel. A Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 27, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Fallbrook, with the Rev. Edward L. Karcher officiating. Interment will follow at 11 a.m. at Fallbrook Masonic Cemetery.
The family suggests memorial donations to Boy Scouts of America; or St. Peter's Education Center.

OCEANSIDE - Wiley C. Edney, 85, died Monday, Oct. 16, 2000, in Oceanside.
Born Jan. 15, 1915, in Texas, he lived in Oceanside. He worked for Weber's Bakery for 35 years.
Mr. Edney is survived by his son, Sam Edney of Mexico; and grandchildren Danielle Edney, Alicia Edney, both of El Dorado.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27, at Eternal Hills Memorial Park. Interment will follow.

Anna Tamburello, 98
RANCHO PENASQUITOS - Anna Tamburello, 98, died Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2000, at Villa Pomerado in Poway.
Born Jan. 6, 1902, in Campobello, Sicily, Italy, she lived in Rancho Penasquitos for 44 years. She was a seamstress for Marston's Department Store.
Mrs. Tamburello was preceded in death by her husband, Ignazio Tamburello, in 1966. She is survived by her son, Rocco Tamburello of San Diego; and grandchildren Rocco Tamburello of San Diego and Thomas Tamburello of Dana Point.
Visitation was held Wednesday, Oct. 25, at Poway-Bernardo Mortuary. A rosary will be recited and a Mass celebrated at 9 a.m. today, Oct. 26, at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church in San Diego. Interment will follow at Holy Cross cemetery in San Diego.
Eleanor Stuart, 83
CARDIFF - Eleanor V. Stuart, 83, died Monday, Oct. 23, 2000, in Encinitas.
Born Dec. 8, 1916, in Seattle, she lived in Cardiff for 27 years. She worked for Huntington Memorial Hospital before retiring and was a member of Solana Beach Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Stuart was preceded in death by her husband, Gorden Stuart, in 1987. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Bill and Karen Stuart of Wedderburn, Ore.; daughters and son-in-law Barbara Colton Stuart of Cardiff and Cathy and John Wright of Pocatello, Idaho; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Born Jan. 17, 1920, in Tubec, Ariz., she lived in Escondido for 22 years. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Torres is survived by her daughters, Nancy Beale of Escondido and Priscilla Fernandez of Los Angeles; brothers Fred Lopez of Morango Valley and Manuel Lopez of Phoeniz; sisters Maria Jesus Flores of Coolidge, Ariz., Molly Peterson of Casa Grande, Ariz., Mary Alice Morrison of Chandler, Ariz., and Sally Norris of Bellflower; grandsons David Bonds, Richard Fernandez and Robert Fernandez; and great-grandchild Daria Consuelo Bonds.

Born Sept. 19, 1926, in Oxnard, she lived in Fallbrook for seven years. She was a homemaker for more than 50 years, a member of the Covina Presbyterian Church, a volunteer with the Angel Shop in Fallbrook, a member of the Friends of the Fallbrook Library and the PEO Club in Fallbrook.
Mrs. Wells is survived by her husband of 53 years, Gordon Wells of Fallbrook; sons Robert Wells of Salem, Ore., Thomas Wells of Orinda and Bryan Wells of Encinitas; brother David Sheard of Carlsbad; sister Dorris Wall of Escondido; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Born Jan. 25, 1926, in Boston, he lived in Carlsbad for 11 years.
He was an overhead sprinkler system installer, served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Fitters Union Local 709 and St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
Mr. Dawson is survived by his wife of 52 years, Rosemary Dawson of Carlsbad; sons Michael J. Dawson of Chino Hills and Christopher P. Dawson of Whittier; daughters Juliann M. Dawson of Ashland, Ore., Colleen M. Dawson of Aurora, Ore., and Kelly C. Dawson-Mousseaux of Phoenix, Ore.; brothers Clifford Dawson of Carlsbad, Henry Dawson of Corona and John Dawson of Santa Monica; sisters Margaret Colby of Booth Bay, Maine, and Barbara Romaine of Carlsbad; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Born Aug. 23, 1916, in Mocorito, Sinaloa, Mexico, he lived in Fallbrook for 40 years. He worked for Pankey Ranch.
Mr. Lopez is survived by his sons, Jose Lopez, Aurelio Lopez, Cecilio Lopez, Jesus Lopez, Armando Lopez and Pedro Lopez; daughters Rosa Lopez, Socorro Lopez and Carnelia Lopez; brothers Angel Lopez and Bautista Lopez; 63 grandchildren; 84 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Born July 20, 1915, in Grady, Okla., he lived in Escondido. He worked for civil service at Camp Pendleton before retiring and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Mr. Walker is survived by his wife of 65 years, Bertha Walker of Escondido; sons and daughter-in-law Laroy Jack and Pat Walker of Canyon Country and Roger Allen Walker of Escondido; daughters and sons-in-law Geneva Lee and Jim Thomas of Silverton, Ore., and Sharon Kay and Charles Dunn of Escondido; brothers William Oscar and Richard Oscar, both of Oklahoma; sisters Edith Pearl Gallner of Pennsylvania, Bessie Lee Hazelwood of Oklahoma and Geneva Jones of Amity, Ark.; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Born Oct. 3, 1920, in Mexico, he lived in Vista for 50 years.
He worked in construction for 20 years and was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church.
Mr. Ramirez was preceded in death by his mother and father, two brothers and one sister.
