Edwin Ivey, 89
ESCONDIDO - Edwin R. Ivey Sr., 89, died Monday, Oct. 23, 2000, at Villa Monte Vista Convalescent.
Born Nov. 30, 1910, in Salt Lake City, Utah, he lived in Escondido for 15 years. He was a salesman for Pacific Toy House for 25 years and served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Disabled American Veterans, a local poker club and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Mr. Ivey is survived by his wife of 56 years, Betty M. Ivey of Escondido; son Edwin R. Ivey Jr. of Longview, Wash.; daughters Linda Donah of Athol, Idaho, and Susan Ivey of Oceanside; 23 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Inurnment will take place at Fort Rosecrans National cemetery in Point Loma.

Carrie Summit, 101
BONSALL - Carrie Lee Summit, 101, died Saturday, Oct. 28, 2000, at her home.
Born Sept. 23, 1899, in Gibbs, Ark., she lived in Bonsall for 58 years. She was a homemaker who enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, crocheting, parties and people. She was a charter member of the First Church of God in Fallbrook for close to 50 years.
Mrs. Summit was preceded in death by her husband, William Thomas Summit, in 1969; her son, Tilmon Summit; and her daughter, Winfred Summit. She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Hazel and Lloyd Qualls of Bonsall and Vivian Prince of El Cajon; daughter-in-law Virginia Summit of San Diego; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a number of stepgrandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. today, Oct. 31, at Berry-Bell & Hall Chapel. A funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1, at the mortuary chapel, with the Rev. Fred Adams officiating. Interment will follow at Fallbrook Masonic Cemetery.

Hubert Reina, 48
PAUMA VALLEY - Hubert Reina Jr., 48, died Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2000, of a heart attack, at Martin Luther King Hospital in Los Angeles.
Born March 19, 1952, in Pittsburg, he lived in Pauma Valley for 20 years. He was a member of a Christian group.
Mr. Reina is survived by his father, Hubert Reina Sr.; sisters Linda Bojorquez and Kathy Reina, both of Pauma Indian Reservation; nephews Miguel Hernandez and Johnny Valadez, both of Pauma Valley; and nieces Marlaine Bojorquez and Reinamarie Valadez, both of Pauma Valley.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, at the Pauma Indian Reservation Cemetery. A private cremation is planned with burial to take place on the Pauma Indian Reservation Cemetery. A reception will follow at Pauma Tribal Hall.
Martha Feck, 89
ESCONDIDO - Martha Mattie Feck, 89, died Friday, Oct. 27, 2000, at Las Villas Del Norte.
Born Dec. 27, 1910, in Drumond New Brunswick, Canada, she lived in Escondido for 22 years. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Feck is survived by her sons, Frederick Feck of Rancho Santa Fe, John W. Feck of Jefferson, Ore., and Charles S. Feck of Portland, Ore.; daughter Dolores S. Adams of Yorba Linda; 11 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
No local service is planned. Burial will take place at St. David cemetery in Madawaska, Maine.

Kevin Nugent, 75
OCEANSIDE - Kevin Patrick Nugent, 75, died Friday, Oct. 27, 2000, in Oceanside.
Born March 12, 1925, in New Jersey, he lived in Oceanside He worked for Uniroyal before retiring in 1987. He served in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Nugent was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Jean Nugent, on Dec. 16, 1998. He is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, James Nugent of Oceanside and Timothy and Lydia Nugent of New York; daughter and son-in-law Jane and Darrell Lenning of Alabama; brothers Robert Nugent, Paul Nugent and William Nugent; sister Marie O'Connor; and grandchildren Megan Nugent and Angela Lenning.
His cremains will be scattered at sea on Wednesday,
Nov. 1.

ESCONDIDO - Gerald Keith Kerbs, 66, died Saturday, Oct. 28, 2000, at Scripps Green Hospital in La Jolla.
Born May 26, 1934, in Claflin, Kan., he lived in Escondido for 30 years.
He was the western regional manager for S&K Sales for 14 years and was a member of the Church of the Resurrection in Escondido.
Mr. Kerbs is survived by his wife of 43 years, Virginia "Jane" Kerbs of Escondido; sons and daughter-in-law Michael and Suzy Kerbs of Riverside and Timothy Kerbs of Escondido; daughters and son-in-law Lisa Fitzpatrick of Escondido and Laurie and Tim Dolan of High Point, N.C.; brother Warren Kerbs of Oviedo, Fla.; sisters Alice Hopkins of Overland Park, Kan., and Darlene Mathers of Great Bend, Kan.; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A prayer service will be held at 5 p.m. today, Oct. 31, at Church of the Resurrection in Escondido. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 31, at Church of the Resurrection, with the Rev. Neal Dolan officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park.

Born Aug. 12, 1925, in Jalisco, Mexico, she lived in Vista. She was a homemaker and a member of La Casa de Mi Padre Church for 15 years.
Mrs. Cruz is survived by her daughters, Bertha Carrillo and Maria Flores, both of Vista; sons Jesus Rodriguez and David Cruz, both of Vista; sisters Juliana Alvarez of Mexico, Maria Garcia of Vista and Hijinia Alvarez of Texas; brothers Isidoro Alvarez of Vista, Primtivo Alvarez of San Bernardino and Blas Alvarez of Mexico; 25 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Charles Rodecker, 77
OCEANSIDE - Charles M. Rodecker, 77, died Thursday, Oct. 26, 2000, at Tri-City Medical Center.
Born June 23, 1923, in Kansas City, Mo., he lived in Oceanside for 13 years. He worked for San Bernardino Valley College before retiring in June 1987. He served in the U.S. Army in North Africa during World War II and was a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Sons of the Confederacy.
Mr. Rodecker is survived by his wife of 50 years, Merilyn Rodecker of Oceanside; son and daughter-in-law Stephen and Jelen Rodecker of Bonita; daughter and son-in-law Barbara Lynn and Gary Pandolfi of La Mesa; and grandchildren Kathryn and Michelle Pandolfi.
Inurnment will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8, at Fort Rosecrans National cemetery in Point Loma, with the Rev. Jim Seaton officiating.

OCEANSIDE - Thomas Adolph Jones Sr., 76, died Thursday, Oct. 26, 2000, at Naval Medical Center in San Diego.
Born Aug. 4, 1924, in Corning, Ohio, he lived in Oceanside for 24 years. He was a sergeant major in the U.S. Marine Corps before retiring after 32 years. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, North County Anglers and Camp Pendleton Men's Golf Association.
Mr. Jones is survived by his wife, Martha Jones of Oceanside; sons Thomas A. Jones Jr. of Holtville, Pa., Michael D. Jones of Columbus, Ohio, Keith E. Jones of Riverside, James A. Jones of Signal Hill, Lawrence J. Jones of Alamogordo, N.M., and John C. Jones of Oceanside; daughters Mary Day and Peggy A. Wilson, both of Oceanside, Rose Marie Casto of Columbus, Rebecca L. Born Oct. 17, 1910, in Leadhill, Ark., she lived in Escondido for one year. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Brown is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Jody Brown of Clearwater, Fla., and Gary and Diane Brown of Greenleaf, Idaho; daughters Clydeen Ferreira of Union City and Freda Jones of Temecula; brothers Walter DeVore and Troy DeVore, both of Zinc, Ark.; sister Lillie Kelley of Washington; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

VISTA - Annabelle Loraine Alspach, 95, died Thursday, Oct. 26, 2000, at a local convalescent home.
Born July 19, 1905, in Dayton, Ohio, she lived in Vista for 52 years and had lived in Oceanside for two years.
She was a homemaker for 73 years and a past member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Vista.
Mrs. Alspach was preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Alspach, on Sept. 13, 1999.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Edwin G. and Shirley Alspach of Vista; grandchildren David H. Alspach and wife Janet, Douglas W. Alspach and Nancy A. Bean and husband Wayne, all of Vista, and Allison L. Roshuba and husband Robert of Crescent City; and great-grandchildren David D. Alspach, Michelle J. Alspach, Amanda Bean, Amber Bean and Starsha Frampton, all of Vista, and Jesse Bean of San Diego.
A private memorial service will be held at a later time. A private cremation is planned with cremains to be scattered at sea.

SANTA YSABEL - Judith C. Spalding, 42, died Friday, Oct. 27, 2000, of small cell cancer, at Palomar Medical Center.
Born Dec. 13, 1957, in Denton, Texas, she lived in Santa Ysabel for nine years. She worked for Lake Henshaw Resort.
Mrs. Spalding was preceded in death by her husband, James Daniel Spalding, on May 1, 1996.
She is survived by her mother, Edith Maxine Grabowski of Amarillo, Texas; son James Spalding of Santa Ysabel; daughter Kellie Spalding of Santa Ysabel; brothers Joel Lancaster of Phoenix and Gary Lancaster of Amarillo, Texas; and sister Beth Lancaster of Amarillo.

RAMONA - Cruz Garcia Yanez, 77, died Friday, Oct. 27, 2000, at Pomerado Hospital.
Born Sept. 14, 1923, in Dawson, N.M., she lived in Ramona for 55 years. She was a homemaker for many years and a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. She was a cooking volunteer at the Ramona Senior Center. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and music.
Mrs. Yanez is survived by her husband of almost 55 years, Octaviano J. Yanez of Ramona; sons Carlos O. Yanez of Frederick, Md., and Pete Yanez of New Castle; daughters Isabel G. Yanez, Virginia Yanez-Peay and Rosa Yanez Wilson, all of Ramona; brother Luis Garcia of Ramona; sisters Jacinta Garcia Duran of Los Angeles and Josephina Garcia Rodriguez of Lancaster; and grandchildren Kristina E.
