Louis Faringhy, 74

RAMONA - Louis N. Faringhy, 74, died Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2000, at his home.
Born May 22, 1926, in San Diego, he lived in Ramona for 12 years. He graduated from Hoover High School in 1944 and was a member of the Bonham Bros. Boys Band. He attended San Diego State College, was a member of the Omega Xi Fraternity and graduated from California Polytechnic Institute in San Luis Obispo in 1950, with a degree in mechanical engineering. He worked in national and international sales and marketing from 1951 to 1988 and in real estate sales until 1999. He was a lifelong member of the American Welding Society, the San Diego Board of Realtors and the Ramona Real Estate Association.
Mr. Faringhy is survived by his wife of 50 years, Peggy Faringhy of Ramona; sons and daughter-in-law Steve Faringhy of San Francisco and Bill and Dawn Faringhy of Carlsbad; daughter Annie Fagan of Ramona; and grandchildren Archie Fagan, Lelia Brady, A.J. Irwin-Faringhy and Adam Faringhy.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, at Fort Rosecrans National cemetery in Point Loma. A reception will follow at the Bali Ha'i on Point Loma.
The family suggests memorial donations to Sharp Hospice Care, PO Box 3739, La Mesa, CA 91944-3739.

Audrey Wright, 66
POWAY - Audrey A. Wright, 66, died Friday, Sept. 29, 2000, at Scripps Green, La Jolla.
Born Feb. 22, 1934, in Bogalusa, La., she lived in Poway for 26 years.
She was a licensed vocational nurse for 38 years and a member of the Community Church of Poway, serving in the outreach program.
Mrs. Wright is survived by her husband of 34 years, Clifford A. Wright of Poway; brothers Earl Arnold Jr., Daniel Arnold, Ralph Arnold and Anthony Arnold, all of Philadelphia; sisters Maxie Addison of Milwaukee and Carolyn Savage of Philadelphia; grandchildren Frederick J. Williams IV of Santa Maria and Audrey M. Williams of Poway; and great-grandchildren Ryann Williams-Cabigon of Poway and Jazmyn Williams of Santa Maria.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today, Oct. 3, at Poway-Bernardo Mortuary in Poway. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4, at Community Church of Poway. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at Dearborn Memorial Park.

Leroy McCluskey, 74
OCEANSIDE - Leroy L. McCluskey, 74, died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2000, in Oceanside.
Born March 3, 1926, in Minnesota, he lived in Oceanside. He was a truck driver.
Mr. McCluskey was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn McCluskey; and his sons, John McCluskey, in 1984, and Mike McCluskey, in 2000. He is survived by his son, Daniel McCluskey of Fallbrook; sisters and brothers-in-law Fern and Boyer Palmer of Minneapolis and Maxine and Larry Knutson of Pequot Lakes, Minn.; two grandchildren; and niece Trish of Oceanside.
Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4, at Eternal Hills Mortuary Chapel, Room 2/3. A funeral will follow at 3 p.m. Burial will take place at a later date.

David Davison, 79

OCEANSIDE - David A. Davison, 79, died Friday, Sept. 27, 2000.
Born April 17, 1921, he lived in Oceanside for 12 years. He worked for Davison Steel Sales before retiring. He served with the firefighters unit of the U.S. Army, 1204th Engineers, and was a resident of Leisure Village Ocean Hills for 12 years.
Mr. Davison was preceded in death by his first wife, Jane Anderson, in 1987. He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Patricia Davison of Oceanside; sons and daughter-in-law Robert Davison of Tustin, John Davison of Vista, Rick and Nancy Davison of Dana Point and David Davison of La Costa; brother William Davison of Pittsburgh; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, at St. Michael's by the Sea Church in Carlsbad, with the Rev. Neal Moquin officiating. A private cremation is planned.
The family suggests memorial donations to Elizabeth Hospice, 150 W. Crest St., Escondido, CA 92025; or the Alzheimer's Association, 8514 Commerce Ave., San Diego, CA 92121.

Mark Saunders, 72
RANCHO BERNARDO - Mark McLean Saunders Jr., 72, died Friday, Sept. 29, 2000, at his home.
Born Oct. 17, 1927, in San Diego, he lived in Rancho Bernardo. He was a quality assurance manager for General Dynamics for 17 years and a member of the Convair Retirement Association, Rancho Bernardo Art Club and the San Diego State University Alumni, and a charter and life member of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. He graduated from San Diego State University with a bachelor of arts degree in speech arts in 1950.
Mr. Saunders is survived by his wife of 48 years, Dolores Saunders of Rancho Bernardo; sons and daughters-in-law Mark Saunders III of San Diego, Gawain and Heather Saunders of Ramona and Stephen and Nancy Saunders of Fallbrook; and grandchildren Ryan Saunders, Sean Saunders, Teagan Saunders and Cheyanne Saunders.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4, at Dearborn Memorial Park in Poway.

Clifford Rayfield, 81
OCEANSIDE - Clifford Glendean Rayfield, 81, died Friday, Sept. 29, 2000, at Palomar Medical Center.
Born April 3, 1919, in Oklahoma, he lived in Oceanside for 21 years. He was the owner of a Hallmark store and served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II.
Mr. Rayfield is survived by his wife of 59 years, Alice Rayfield of Oceanside; daughters and sons-in-law June and Donald Queen of Carlsbad and Deana St. John and Peter Andrews of Long Beach; brother Elmo Rayfield of Phoenix; and grandchildren Ashley and Michael Wilson.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, at Eternal Hills Mortuary Chapel, with the Rev. Don Hall officiating. A private cremation is planned.
The family suggests memorial donations to a charity of choice.

Helen Smith, 69
ESCONDIDO - Helen Smith, 69, died Friday, Sept. 29, 2000, in Escondido.
Born Jan. 2, 1931, in Winber, Pa., she lived in Escondido for two years. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Smith is survived by her sons, Mark Lefko of Mesick, Mich., and Philip Smith of Escondido; daughter and son-in-law Linda and James Cummings of Escondido; brother Michael Perciavalle of Rancho Penasquitos; sister Sylvia Perciavalle of Michigan; and grandchildren Stephanie Lademann of Escondido and Danny Lefko of Mesick.
A private inurnment is planned.

Mia Tirado, 33
VISTA - Mia Celina Tirado, 33, died Saturday, Sept. 23, 2000, from complications of asthma, in Las Vegas.
Born Aug. 4, 1967, in the Bronx, N.Y., she lived in Vista for two years. She was a volunteer at the Community Resource Center in Encinitas.
Mrs. Tirado was preceded in death by her mother, Lydia M. Tirado, in 1998.
She is survived by her grandmother, Celina Maldonado of Vista; grandfather Jose Maldonado of Puerto Rico; sons Ricardo Wilson and Raymond Wilson, both of Los Angeles, and Anthony Rouse, Marcus Rouse and Andrew Rouse, all of Vista; uncles William Tirado of Puerto Rico and Fred Maldonado and Jose Maldonado, both of Oceanside; and aunts Josephine Maldonado of Oceanside and Carmen Maldonado of Vista.
Visitation and viewing will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4, at Mission San Luis Rey Parish Chapel. A funeral Mass and graveside service are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, at the mission chapel, with the Rev. Garrett Galvin officiating. Burial will follow at Eternal Hills Memorial Park.
The family suggests memorial donations to Rita Silva at CAL FED Bank, 1810 Marron Road, Carlsbad, CA 92008.

Heriberta Lopez, 87
VISTA - Heriberta Contreras Lopez, 87, died Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2000, at an Escondido convalescent center.
Born March 16, 1913, in Cananea, Sonora, Mexico, she lived in Vista for 60 years. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Lopez was preceded in death by her daughters, Mary Flores in 1975 and Frances Garcia in 1993; and son Pete Lopez in 1965. She is survived by her sons, Arthur C. Lopez of Escondido and Asuncion C. Lopez of Vista; daughter Ernestina Rosalles of Visalia; brother Rosario Contreras of San Marcos; sister Jessica Contreras of Escondido; 32 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to noon today, Oct. 3, at Allen Brothers Mortuary, Vista Chapel. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. following visitation, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Vista. Interment will follow at Eternal Hills Memorial Park.

Myrtle Green, 92
LAKE SAN MARCOS - Myrtle H. Green, 92, died Monday, Sept. 25, 2000, at home.
Born April 9, 1908, in Des Moines, Iowa, she lived at Lake San Marcos since 1976.
She retired as a vice president and member of the board of directors of the Wieboldt department stores in Chicago.
She was also on WMAQ and WBBM radio from 1937 to 1955, known to her audience as ³June Marlowe.²
She was a past president of the United Church of Lake San Marcos, the Women's Fellowship and the Lake Security Patrol.
Ms. Green is survived by her niece, Terry Ray of Lake San Marcos.
A memorial celebration will be held at 11:15 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 8, at the United Church of Lake San Marcos, with the Revs. Ted Herrmann and Lee Fruechte officiating. Interment will take place at Eternal Hills Memorial Park at a later date.

Jo Ann Badeau, 80
RANCHO BERNARDO - Jo Ann Badeau, 80, died Sunday, Oct. 1, 2000, at the Remington Club in Rancho Bernardo.
Born July 19, 1920, in Oklahoma, she lived in Rancho Bernardo for 30 years.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6, at the Rancho Bernardo Community Presbyterian Church.

Virginia Luchsinger, 83
VALLEY CENTER - Virginia Luchsinger, 83, died Friday, Sept. 29, 2000, of cancer, in Escondido.
Born Sept. 9, 1917, in Jewell, Iowa, she lived in Valley Center. She was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church of Escondido, serving in the women's groups and awarded honorary life membership in Presbyterian Women. She was one of the founders of the CancerVive patient support group at Good Samaritan Hospital in Los Angeles.
Mrs. Luchsinger is survived by her husband, Ernest Luchsinger of Valley Center; son Peter Luchsinger of Valley Center; daughter Lisa Corbett of La Crescenta; brothers John Oliver of Stanford, Mont., and Paul Oliver of West Bend, Wis.; and grandchildren Janine, Christine, Erik and Samuel.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Escondido, with the Revs. Jim Rauch and Richard Terry officiating. A private cremation is planned.
The family suggests memorial donations to Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1500 S. Juniper St., Escondido, CA 92025; or Elizabeth Hospice, 150 W. Crest St., Escondido, CA 92025.

Vera Lowrie, 88
RAMONA - Vera G. Lowrie, 88, died Saturday, Sept. 30, 2000, at a Rancho Bernardo convalescent hospital.
Born July 16, 1912, in New York, she lived in Ramona for 18 years and had lived in Pasadena. She was an administrative secretary for the Pasadena city schools district office for 33 years and a member of the Eastern Star, Chapter 108, in Pasadena and a member of AARP.
Ms. Lowrie is survived by her sister, Gelene Zacharias of Santee.
The family suggests memorial donations to the American Cancer Society, 12405 Rancho Bernardo Road, Suite 100, San Diego, CA 92128.

Albert Huntington, 91
VISTA - Albert Iverslie Huntington, 91, died Sunday, Oct. 1, 2000, at Life Care Center of Vista.
Born June 26, 1909, in Minneapolis, he lived in Vista for 30 years. He was a bricklayer in the construction business.
Mr. Huntington was preceded in death by his wife, Eunice Huntington, in 1988. He is survived by his son, George Huntington of Roseburg, Ore.; daughter Jan Nelson of Minnesota; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
No service will be held at the request of the deceased. A private cremation is planned.

Marjorie Snow, 81
CORVALLIS, Ore. - Marjorie Eloise Snow, 81, died Saturday, Sept. 30, 2000, at Heart of the Valley Care Center.
Born May 29, 1919, in Heber, Utah, she lived in Fallbrook for many years. She graduated from Compton High School as valedictorian in 1937 and managed a plastic pipe manufacturing plant in Southern California, an irrigation wholesale, retail and installation business and a 65-acre avocado and citrus ranch after her husband's death. She was a member of Home of Guiding Hands Guild of Women, and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Corvallis 1st Ward and Relief Society. She enjoyed crafts, volunteer work, beach combing, reading, classical music and writing.
Mrs. Snow was preceded in death by her husband, Robert T. Snow, in 1960, and her parents. She is survived by her sons, Gregory Snow of Jacksonville, Ore., and Richard Snow of Lakeside; daughters Christine Snow and Celia Snow, both of Corvallis, and Pamela Snow of Chehalis, Wash.; and sister Betty Wegner of Fallbrook.
A funeral service was held Monday, Oct. 2, at DeMoss-Durdan Garden Chapel in Corvallis, with Bishop David Tingey of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints officiating.
The family suggests memorial donations to Home of Guiding Hands, a residence for the handicapped, c/o DeMoss-Durdan Garden Chapel, 815 NW Buchanan Ave., Corvallis, OR 97330.

Guadalupe Lobata, 100
SAN DIEGO - Guadalupe Lobata, 100, died Sunday, Oct. 1, 2000, in San Diego.
Born Sept. 3, 1900, in Sanora, Mexico, she lived in San Diego for 55 years. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Lobata was preceded in death by her husband, Preciliano Lobato, in 1964. She is survived by one son of Sacramento; three daughters of San Diego and daughter Petra "Pat" Laboto Stubbs of San Marcos; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Viewing will be held from 4 to 8 p.m., with a rosary recited at 6 p.m. today, Oct. 4, at Alhiser-Comer Mortuary. A Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Escondido, with the Rev. Bong officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
