ENCINITAS - Claude Marion Morris, 84, died Wednesday, May 10, 2000, at an Encinitas care center.
Born Oct. 6, 1915, in Greensburg Kan., he lived in Garden Grove for 41 years before moving to Encinitas two years ago.
Mr. Morris is survived by his wife of 46 years, Ione Morris of Encinitas; son and daughter-in-law Ron and Karen Morris of Helen, Mont.; daughters and son-in-law Sherley Knight-Lopez of Watsonville and Kaaren and Bill Evans of Solana Beach; foster children Don Jett of Costa Mesa and Briana Jett of Orange; brother Ray Morris of Groom, Texas; sisters Violet Tubb of Carmel; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, May 12, at the Encinitas Mortuary. A private interment will take place in Santa Margarita.

Coral Benjamin, 81
ESCONDIDO - Coral Jane Benjamin, 81, died Tuesday, May 9, 2000.
Born Dec. 30, 1918, in Chicago, she lived in Escondido for 13 years. She was a homemaker for 40 years and a member of the Resurrection Church of Escondido.
Mrs. Benjamin was preceded in death by her husband, Stewart Benjamin. She is survived by her sons, John Benjamin of Chicago and William "Ben" of Rancho Bernardo; daughters Cory Montano of San Diego and Marie Crisp of Norfolk, Va.; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday, May 13, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Poway. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. A cryptside service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, May 13, at Holy Cross Mausoleum in San Diego.

ESCONDIDO - Lucille O'Neal Lochridge, 93, died Sunday, April 30, 2000, in Escondido.
Born Sept. 9, 1906, in Duck Hill, Miss., she lived in Escondido for 47 years. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Lochridge is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Paul and Betty Lochridge and Frank and Arlene Lochridge, all of Escondido; grandchildren Maureen Lochridge, Steven Lochridge, Linda Kelly, Karen Ogden and Cheryl Smith; and six great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held Thursday, May 11, at Oak Hill Memorial Park.

OCEANSIDE - John Arthur Turmala, 74, died Tuesday, May 9, 2000, at San Diego Hospice.
Born Sept. 20, 1925, in Sheboygan Falls, Wis., he lived in Oceanside for 12 years. He was a self-employed architect for 47 years and served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II.
Mr. Turmala is survived by his sons, John F. Turmala of Phoenix, Jim S. Turmala of Tucson, Ariz., Paul D. Turmala of Seattle and Steven J. Turmala of Corona; daughter Kathleen M. Turmala of Burlingame and Carol Turmala DiGirolamo of Oceanside; and four grandchildren.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at noon Saturday, May 13, at Mission San Luis Rey Parish Chapel. Burial will follow at Mission San Luis Rey Cemetery.

SAN MARCOS - Dennis Edward Kelly, 89, died Friday, May 5, 2000, at Valle Vista Convalescent.
Born June 4, 1910, in Murray, Ky., he lived in San Marcos for six years. He was a line supervisor for Ford Motor Co. for 42 years and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Mr. Kelly was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Mae Kelly, in 1992. He is survived by his sons, Edward Kelly of San Marcos and Gerald Balding of Howell, Mont.; brother Clifton Kelly; sister Beverly Mitchell; and two grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, May 12, at the United Methodist Church in Vista, with the Rev. Larry Arrowsmith officiating. Burial will take place at Michigan Memorial Park in Flat Rock, Mich.

Ruth Kehoe, 81
DENVER - Ruth D. Kehoe, 81, died Wednesday, May 3, 2000, of cancer, in Denver.
Born Nov. 26, 1918, in Fruitland, Idaho, she previously lived in Rancho Bernardo. She was a member of San Rafael Catholic Parish, working for the Ladies Guild, St. Vincent de Paul Society and Mother Teresa's Missionaries of Charity. She was a registered nurse at St. Alphonsus Hospital in Boise, Idaho, and at St. Joseph's Creighton University Hospital in Omaha, Neb. She was also a licensed x-ray technician.
Mrs. Kehoe was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. John M. Kehoe, in 1983. She is survived by her 11 children, five sisters, 30 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 16, at San Rafael.

Born Aug. 10, 1914, in Karistad, Sweden, he lived in Escondido for 15 years. He was a self-employed tool and die maker and owner of Lorel Tool for 40 years.
Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Anderson, in 1982. He is survived by his son, Keith Anderson of North Brook, Ill.; daughter Lynne Valentine of Danville; brother Knute Anderson of Camarillo; and three grandchildren.

VISTA - Fred Joseph Brennan, 73, died Tuesday, May 9, 2000, at his home.
Born Dec. 19, 1926, in Worcester, Mass., he lived in Vista for 10 years. He was vice president of business development for ITT for 20 years and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of Sunrise Vista Kiwanis and Shadowridge Golf Club.
Mr. Brennan is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Brennan of Vista; sons David F. Brennan of Los Angeles and John C. Brennan of San Carlos; daughters Elizabeth H. Brennan of San Diego and Nancy A. Riggs of Encinitas; sister Trudy Brekus of Palm Beach, Fla.; and five grandchildren.

VISTA - Betty Arlene Agostinelli, 78, died Monday, May 8, 2000, at Tri-City Medical Center.
Born Feb. 28, 1922, in Lewistown, Mont., she lived in Vista for 16 years. She was a counterperson for Dean's Photo for 10 years.
Mrs. Agostinelli was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Eugene Agostinelli, in 1996. She is survived by her son, Dennis Pearson of Vista.

Harold Daniels, 65
BOISE, Idaho - Harold c. Daniels, 65, died Monday, May 8, 2000, at Veteran's Hospital in Boise.
Born March 5, 1935, in Minneapolis, he previously was stationed at Camp Pendleton. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps as an instructor for motor transportation and served two tours in Vietnam and one tour in Japan. He retired in 1977 as first sergeant. He was shop foreman for Onel International and worked for Hebling Brothers, Boise Bus Co., and T and S Car Wash.
Mr. Daniels was preceded in death by his mother, Ida May Daniels, and his brother, Gerald Daniels. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Lois E. Daniels; father Howard L. Daniels Sr. of Longview, Wash.; daughters Debbie Dee Daniels and Peggy Lee Spratt; eight brothers; four sisters; grandchildren Jeff, Jessie, Shannon, Forest, Brittany and Shane; and great-grandchild Haley Mae Carmichael of Boise.
A funeral service will be held today, May 12, at Cloverdale Funeral Home in Boise, with the Rev. Don Moore officiating. Interment will follow at Terrace Lawn Memorial Gardens.

SAN MARCOS - Arthur James McDaniel, 84, died Sunday, May 7, 2000, at his home.
Born June 1, 1915, in St. Paul, Minn., he lived in San Marcos for 54 years. He was a custodian for National Cash Register and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was past master and a member of the Vista Masonic Lodge 687.
Mr. McDaniel is survived by his wife, Edith McDaniel of San Marcos; sons Danny McDaniel of Placerville and Walter McDaniel of Valley Center; daughter Alma Nasby of Portland, Ore.; sisters Erma Mayo of San Andreas and Ruth Krogan of Williston, N.D.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Born Aug. 4, 1921, in Benton, Mo., she lived in Sun City for four years. She was a homemaker in California for 55 years and was a member of the Newcomers Club and The Book Club in Jackson.
Mrs. Thomas is survived by her husband, Arthur Thomas of Sun City; sons Daniel Thomas of Stockton and Jim Thomas of Menifee; daughter Linda Thomas of San Francisco; and three grandchildren.

MURRIETA - Richard Gerald Aiken, 73, died Saturday, May 6, 2000, of cardiovascular disease.
Born April 6, 1927, in Lynn, Mass., he lived in Murrieta for 11 years. He was a plumber for the city of Lakewood for 23 years and served in the U.S. Army from 1945 to 1946.
Mr. Aiken is survived by his wife, Donna Aiken of Murrieta, and son Joseph Aiken of Lakewood.

TEMECULA - Richard Anthony Martinez, 28, died Sunday, May 7, 2000.
Born July 24, 1971, in San Gabriel, he lived in Temecula for nine months. He was a consultant for Pechanga Entertainment Corp. for one year. He graduated from Oregon State University and was a member of Mountain View Church and the American Indian Science of Engineering Society.
Mr. Martinez was preceded in death by his grandfather, Lesslie J. Stevenson. He is survived by his mother, Beverly Stevenson of Honolulu; father Richard Martinez of Salem, Ore.; brothers Michael Martinez and Russell Martinez, both of Honolulu; sister and brother-in-law Monique and Kerry Benson of Salem; grandparents Richard and Erminda Martinez of Salem and Jean Stevenson of Temecula; aunts Leslie Stevenson and Holly Stevenson, both of Temecula; nephews Steven Cornutt and Kerry Benson, both of Salem; niece Kyla Benson of Salem; and friend Laura Kelly of Salem.

Born June 10, 1922, in Cleveland, he lived in San Bernardino for 20 years. He graduated from high school in Cleveland and attended college in California. He was a self-employed insurance broker in Riverside County and San Bernardino County for 25 years, retiring in 1992. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force, receiving an American Theatre Ribbon and the American Defense Service Medal. He was a former member of the Moose Club.
Mr. Keck is survived by his wife, Donna Keck of San Bernardino; son Daniel J. Keck of Temecula; stepdaughters Laura L. Hawkins of Anaheim, Lynne Alkemade of San Jose and Lisa Hawkins-Garcia of Altus, Okla.; brother James Keck of Ardsley N.Y.; and six grandchildren.

Mrs. Hawkins is survived by her husband of 68 years, "Bud" Arthur Hawkins of Vista; sons and daughter-in-law Lynn and Glenda Hawkins of Idaho and Barry Hawkins of Los Angeles; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 17, at Grace Presbyterian Church in Vista, with the Rev. Tom Strater officiating. A private cremation is planned with interment to take place at Eternal Hills Memorial Park.
