SUN CITY - Ethel Josephine Andry, 85, died Friday, March 10, 2000, of complications from Alzheimer's disease, at her home in Sun City.
Born March 25, 1914, in New Orleans, she lived in Sun City for 11 years. She was a homemaker for 66 years.
Mrs. Andry is survived by her husband, Emile Andry of Sun City; son Emile Andry Jr. of Newport Beach; daughters Carmel Rideau of Anaheim Hills and Sheryl Olivier of W. Los Angeles; 13 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held Monday, March 13, at St. Vincent Catholic Church in Sun City. A private cremation is planned with scattering of cremains off the coast.

Helen Rountree, 66
ESCONDIDO - Helen M. Rountree, 66, died Friday, March 10, 2000, in Escondido.
Born May 1, 1933, in Akron, Ohio, she lived in Escondido for 12 years. She was a lab technician for Barnes-Hind Contact Lenses for 15 years before retiring. She was a senior patrol volunteer for the San Marcos substation, San Diego County Sheriff's Department for three years.
Mrs. Rountree is survived by her husband of 24 years, George Rountree of Escondido; sons J.D. Kisner Jr. of Nebraska and Wendell Rountree of Florida; daughters and son-in-law LaDonna Kisner of San Diego, Dolores and William Scott Jr. of Phoenix and Deborah Shean of El Cajon; brother Bernard Wendell of Michigan; sisters Mary Shrader and Wilma Ickes, both of Ohio; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, at McLeod Mortuary, Escondido Chapel. A private cremation is planned.

VISTA - Kathe Charlotte Lehnert, 78, died Friday, March 10, 2000, at her home.
Born Oct. 24, 1921, in Johrsdorf, Germany, she lived in Vista for 10 years. She was assistant director of environmental services at Continental Hospital for 25 years and a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Inglewood.
Mrs. Lehnert is survived by her son, Siegfried "Fred" Kross of Vista; brother Otto Bekowies of Itzehoe, Germany; sister Hildegard Baehrhdz of Hamburg, Germany; one grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at 11 a.m. today, March 14, at Faith Lutheran Church in Vista. A funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. today, with the Rev. Donald Jordan officiating. Burial will follow at San Marcos Cemetery.

Julius Theis, 81
VISTA - Julius Carl Theis, 81, died Sunday, March 12, 2000, at his home.
Born July 18, 1918, in Dunkirk, N.Y., he lived in Vista for 24 years. He was a logistics specialist for the U.S. government for 27 years and served as a 1st sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps before retiring. He also served in the U.S. Navy.
Mr. Theis is survived by his sons, Holt D. Theis of Landstuhl, Germany and Michael Theis of Royal Palm Beach, Fla.; half-brother Henry J. Von Rhode; sister Genevieve H. O'Brien and half-sisters Evelyn R. Caruso and Julia T. Straight, both of Rill Buck, N.Y.; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A funeral service was held at 3 p.m. Monday, March 13, at Allen Brothers Mortuary, Vista Chapel, with the Rev. Patrick Mulcahy officiating. A private cremation is planned with cremains to be scattered at sea.

ESCONDIDO - Donald Dyne Wheeler, 67, died Sunday, March 5, 2000, of myocardial infarction at Tri-City Hospital.
Born Nov. 21, 1932, in Independence, Mo., he lived in Escondido for 50 years. He was an engineer and served in the U.S. Army National Guard.
Mr. Wheeler was preceded in death by his mother and father, Marie and Kenneth Wheeler; and his brother, Bill Wheeler. He is survived by his companion, Michaeline Flower of Escondido; sons Kenneth Wheeler of Seattle and Doug Wheeler of San Diego; stepsons Scott Allen of Boise, Idaho, and Brian Mitchell of North Carolina; daughters Rene Murphy of Coronado and Kirtlye Ferrari of Sonora; stepdaughters Shamra Butler of Valley, Wash., and Christy Mitchell of San Marcos; brother Harold Wheeler; and 15 grandchildren.

Born July 16, 1929, in North Plainfield, N.J., he lived in Escondido for 11 years. He was an auto salesman for 25 years before retiring.
Mr. Rinker is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Rebecca and Carl Heath of Illinois and Connie and Ron Betenbough of Texas; brother Robert Rinker of New Jersey; sisters and brother-in-law Leona Picca and Delores and Herb Locklin, both of Northern California; 10 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Born Nov. 4, 1911, in Smithville, Okla., she lived in Hemet for 10 years. She was co-owner of Slee's Paint and Body for 30 years and worked in the paint and body department at Murray Buick in Escondido for 25 years.
Mrs. Reynolds is survived by her husband of 71 years, Slee Reynolds of Hemet; daughters and sons-in-law Bernice Chunn of National City, Betty Marie Mittchell of Spring Valley and Leota Baca of Hemet; sister Hazel Steprow of San Jose; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and niece Betty Sexton of Oceanside.
A memorial service was held Thursday, March 9. Burial followed at San Jacinto Valley Cemetery, with the Rev. Randy Jones officiating.

Born Jan. 10, 1911, in St. Louis, she lived in Fallbrook for five years. She worked in sales for Western Union for 33 years, retiring in 1963.
Mrs. Surgalski is survived by her brother, William A. Berger of Vista; niece Joyce and Dick Libby of Fallbrook, along with four generations of nieces.

Mrs. D'Elia was preceded in death by her husband, Louis D'Elia, in 1989. Born Dec. 22, 1913, in Cleveland, he lived in San Diego for six years and had lived in Sun City for 12 years. He worked as an auditor for Los Angeles County for 40 years and was a member of the Speech Crafters in Los Angeles.
Mr. Kroll is survived by his sons, Allan Kroll of Aguanga and John Kroll of Norfolk, Va.; daughters Katherine Black of San Diego and Trudy Bird of Los Angeles; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
