E. La Von Delahunty, 88
OCEANSIDE - E. La Von Delahunty, 88, died Saturday, June 10, 2000, at her home.
Born April 30, 1912, n Cozad, Neb., she lived in Oceanside for 66 years. She was postmaster of Potrero from 1951 to 1955.
Mrs. Delahunty was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond J. Delahunty, in 1990. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Le Rae and tom Moore of Oceanside; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 15, at Twin Cities Christian Church in Oceanside, with Dr. Richard Miller officiating. A private cremation is planned.
The family suggests memorial donations to Hospice of the North County, 2095 N. Vista way, Suite 101, Vista, CA 92083.

Lersey Lee, 94
OCEANSIDE - Lersey Lee, 94, died Thursday, June 8, 2000, in Oceanside.
Born March 29, 1906, in Pine Bluff, Ark., he lived in Oceanside for 40 years. He was a shipping clerk for Swift Premium Co. before retiring.
Mr. Lee was preceded in death by his wife, Carrie Lee, in 1983. He is survived by his daughter, Rebecca Lee of Oceanside; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 16, at Eternal Hills Memorial Park, with the Rev. Anthony C. Frazier of the New Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow.

Floyd Hoover, 87
OCEANSIDE - Floyd E. Hoover, 87, died Wednesday, June 7, 2000.
Born Jan. 22, 1913, in Delaware County, Ind., he lived in Oceanside. He worked for Sears Roebuck & Co. as a sales associate for 15 years, retiring in 1983. He had worked for Nankelville Chevrolet-Indianapolis as a service manager for 15 years and for Allison for 20 years. He was a member of Mount Auburn United Methodist Church and Greenwood Masonic Lodge No. 514.
Mr. Hoover was preceded in death by six brothers and three sisters. He is survived by his daughters, Earleen Hoover and Sondra Lakin, both of Oceanside; brothers Larry Hoover of Cambridge City, Harry F. Hoover of Sun City, Ariz., and William Hoover of Winchester, Ind.; and granddaughter Katherine Patricia Hoover Lakin.
A funeral service was held Tuesday, June 13, in Greenwood, Ind. Entombment will take place at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens

Roy Anderson, 81
ROMOLAND - Roy Constant Anderson, 81, died Sunday, June 11, 2000, of cardio myopathy.
Born Jan. 31, 1919, in St. Paul, Minn., he lived in Romoland for 10 years. He was a plant foreman with Garden Grove USD in Garden Grove for 14 years. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1945 to 1946 and was a member of the American Legion in Sun City.
Mr. Anderson is survived by his wife, Helen Anderson of Romoland; son Robert Anderson of Romoland; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday, June 21, at Riverside National Cemetery, Staging Area 2. Burial will follow.

George Buydos, 77
TEMECULA - George P. Buydos, 77, died Friday, June 9, 2000, at Rancho Springs Medical Center.
Born May 7, 1923, in Yatesboro, Pa., he lived in Temecula for 11 years. He was a hydraulic repairman for Ford Motor Co. in Lima, Ohio, for 35 years before retiring. He served in the Merchant Marines during World War II and was a member of St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Temecula and the United Auto Workers-Congress of Industrial Organizations.
Visitation was held Tuesday, June 13, at Stout Family Funeral Home. A Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. today, June 14, at St. Catherine's Catholic Church. Burial will follow at 10:45 a.m. at Riverside National Cemetery, Staging Area 4.

Jacob Wiesinger, 69
CARLSBAD - Jacob J. Wiesinger, 69, died Tuesday, June 20, 2000, in La Jolla.
Born Dec. 18, 1930, in Altoon, Pa., he lived in Carlsbad. He worked for the West Covina School District before retiring.
Mr. Wiesinger is survived by his wife of 43 years, Shirley Wiesinger of Carlsbad; and sister Rose Cirillo of Fallbrook.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 26, at Eternal Hills Memorial Park. Interment will follow.
The family suggests memorial donations to J. Wiesinger, West Covina High School Memorial Library Fund, c/o Richard Donoqhue, West Covina High School District, 1717 W. Merced, W. Covina, CA 91790.

Charles Hartman, 66
CARLSBAD - Charles F. Hartman, 66, died Friday, June 16, 2000, in La Jolla.
Born June 16, 1914, in Los Angeles, he lived in Carlsbad for 23 years. He worked for Applied Research Laboratory for 37 years before retiring and was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Pira, Stephen's Ministry of St. Patrick's Church.
Mr. Hartman is survived by his wife of 63 years, Marian R. Hartman of Carlsbad; son David Hartman of Pleasant Hill; daughters Patricia Germano of Vista and Christina Criona of Santa Clarita; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, June 26, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Carlsbad, with the Rev. Raymond Moore officiating. Inurnment will follow at Mission San Luis Rey Cemetery.
The family suggests memorial donations to San Diego Hospice, 4311 Third Ave., San Diego, CA 92103; or a charity of choice.

George Wade, 84
CARLSBAD - George Warren Wade, 84, died Tuesday, June 20, 2000, of congestive heart failure, at Brighton Gardens.
Born Sept. 5, 1915, in Boones Mill, Va., he lived in Carlsbad for 45 years. He served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific, European and Korean war zones, retiring after 21 years, and worked for San Diego Gas & Electric, retiring in 1975. He was a member of Carlsbad Community Church.
Mr. Wade was preceded in death by his son, Warren Louis Wade, in November 1994. He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Dottie June Wade of Carlsbad; stepsons and daughters-in-law James and Pam Bales of San Marcos and bill and Tammy Bales of Escondido; stepdaughter and son-in-law Cindy and Dr. Don Wilhelm of Lake of the Ozark, Mo.; niece Mattie Mattox of Union Hall, Va.; and grandchildren Brenda Bales, Billy Bales and Alex and Brittany and Carly Wilhelm.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 27, at Carlsbad Community Church.

Grace Murrey, 77
OCEANSIDE - Grace Lucille Chandler Murrey, 77, died Sunday, June 18, 2000, at her home.
Born Oct. 4, 1922, in Pine River, Minn., she lived in Oceanside for three years. She was a bilingual teacher for the Los Angeles School District and a member of the Emblem Club in Gardena and in Show Low, Ariz.
Mrs. Murrey is survived by her husband of 58 years, Howard Murrey of Oceanside; sons David Murrey and Mark Murrey, both of Show Low; daughter Kathleen Dowling of Anchorage, Alaska; sister Elsie Eystad of Chateau, Mont.; grandchildren Julie, Bruce, Roger, Kim, DJ, Rachel, Crystal and Joshua; and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 15, at Show Low, Ariz., with the Emblem Club 337 officiating.
The family suggests memorial donations to the Show Low Emblem Club 337, Scholarship Fund, PO Box 615, Show Low, AZ 85901.

Mildred Sparks, 61
SAN MARCOS - Mildred A. Sparks, 61, died Wednesday, June 21, 2000, at Palomar Medical Center.
Born Aug. 13, 1938, in Oklahoma City, Okla., she lived in San Marcos for 39 years. She was a self-employed healthcare giver.
Mrs. Sparks is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Dr. Deborah Hill of Newport Beach, DeAnn and Rob Lauer of Colorado Springs, Colo.; son David Sparks of Oceanside; and two granddaughters.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, June 26, at El Camino Memorial/Encinitas Chapel, with interment following at El Camino Memorial Park.
The family suggests memorial donations to the Mildred Sparks Memorial Fund, c/o Crossroads Calvary Chapel, PO Box 2367, Oceanside, CA 92051.

Cliff Thompson, 40
SAN MARCOS - Cliff A. Thompson, 40, died Monday, May 29, 2000, from complication of AIDS, in San Marcos.
Born July 7, 1959, in Bottineau, N.D., he lived in San Marcos for seven years. He worked for Fraternity House in Escondido for 16 months. He was a member of the Church of All Saints, singing in the choir, and a member of the San Diego Gay Men's Choir.
Mr. Thompson is survived by the Maynard Thompson family of Prior Lake, Minn.; friends from the Church of All Saints, the San Diego Gay Men's choir; and 13 nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 1, at the Church of All Saints in San Marcos, with the Rev. James Bischoff officiating. A private burial is planned.
The family suggests memorial donations to the Church of All Saints Cliff A. Thompson Memorial Organ Fund, 362 Mulberry Drive, San Marcos, CA 92069.

Cynthia Severson, 56
SAN DIEGO - Cynthia Jean Severson, 56, died Thursday, June 22, 2000, in San Diego.
Born July 4, 1943, in Duluth, Minn., she lived in San Diego for 17 years. She graduated from Duluth Central High School and was a cashier/waitress at Del Mar Heights Texaco for more than 14 years.
Mrs. Severson is survived by her husband of 38 years, James Charles Severson of San Diego; mother and father Madeline and Edward Christianson of Coon Rapids, Minn.; son and daughter-in-law James Charles Jr. and Penny Severson of Duluth; daughters and son-in-law Laura and Arthur Jensen of Maple Grove, Minn., and Mary Severson of Escondido; brothers Edward Christiansen of Helsinki, Finland, Gordon Christiansen of Mapple Grove and Mark Christiansen of Monticello, Minn.; and grandchildren James David Severson, Crystal Reilly, Austin Jensen, Kirsten Jensen and Tyler Severson.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Maple Grove. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Fort Snelling National cemetery in Minneapolis.

Richard Payne, 60
MURRIETA - Richard Payne, 60, died Thursday, June 22, 2000, of conjunctive heart disease, at UCLA Medical Center.
Born July 19, 1939, in Brooklyn, N.Y., he lived in Murrieta for 10 years.
Mr. Payne was a math teacher at Paloma Valley High School.
His favorite pursuits included bowling, cooking, reading science fiction and going to renaissance fairs.
Mr. Payne is survived by his wife of 22 years, Pamela, of Murrieta; three daughters, Debra Payne of Harbor City, Cindy Wilson of Alta Loma, and Linda Payne of Corralitos; two stepdaughters, Traci Wood of Altadena and Heather Sabuni of Oceanside; and two grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, June 26, at 10 a.m. at Mount Palomar Winery in Temecula.
The family suggests memorial donations in Mr. Payne's memory be forwarded to the National Park Service, American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.

Gloria SantoSpirito, 57
ESCONDIDO ญญ Gloria SantoSpirito, 57, died Wednesday, June 21, 2000, at her home.
Born Nov. 30, 1942, in Buffalo, N.Y., she lived in Escondido for 15 years. She was a homemaker for 41 years.
Mrs. SantoSpirito is survived by her husband, John J. SantoSpirito of Escondido; son John J. SantoSpirito III of Denver; daughters and sons-in-law Vicki and Boyd Kerr of Escondido; Lynne M. and Bill Kronmuller and Deborah A. and Rick Weber, all of Fountain Valley; and six grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, June 27, at Allen Brothers Mortuary, San Marcos Chapel, with the Rev. William Mooney officiating. A private cremation is planned.

Angel Finn, infant
OCEANSIDE ญญ Angel Finn, infant, was born and died Monday, June 12, 2000, at the naval hospital at Camp Pendleton.
Angel is survived by her mother and father, Imelda and Donald Finn of Oceanside; brothers Agustin De Leon and Donald Finn, both of Oceanside; and sister Anna Finn of Oceanside.
A Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 28, at St. Mary's Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Oceanside. A private inurnment is planned.

Billie Huffman, 58
VISTA - Billie Louise Huffman, 58, died Friday, June 23, 2000, at Tri-City Medical Center.
Born Dec. 20, 1941, in Amarillo, Texas, she was a resident of Vista for 25 years. Mrs. Huffman worked for as a merchant teller at union Bank, Vista for 13 years.
Mrs. Huffman is survived for her husband, Donald Huffman of Vista; mother Lula Daley of Vista; son Randall Lowe of Vista; daughters Debbie Mueller of Vista and Pippa Pinkney of Mesa, Ariz., sister Saundra Taylor of Ft. Worth, Texas, maternal grandmother Effie Smoot of Edmond, Okla., seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral service is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 27 at Allen Brothers Vista Chapel. There will be a private cremation.

Milan Shields, 82
FALLBROOK - Milan Rodruck Shields, 82, died Tuesday, June 20, 2000.
Born Sept. 16, 1917, in Chicago, Ill., he was a resident of Fallbrook for 14 years. He was a retired machinist and worked fro American Machine and Foundry for 13 years. Mr. Shield served in the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1939-1941 and attained the rank of sergeant. He was discharged to serve with the American volunteer group - Flying Tigers - serving in China and Burma during W.W.II from 1941 to 1942.
Mr. Shields is survived by his wife of 52 years, Catherine Frances, of Fallbrook; sons Christopher Earl Shields of Las Vegas; daughter Susan Shields of Wellsville, Mo.; brother John Shields of Albany, Ore.; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A private cremation and family memorial service will be scheduled.
The family suggests memorial donations to: Fallbrook Land Conservancy, Los Jilgueros Preserve, P.O. Box 2701, Fallbrook, CA 92088.
