Allen Phillips, 64
CACHE, ARKANSAS - Allen Leroy "Roy" Phillips, 64 died, Thursday, June 29, 2000. following a sudden illness.
Born Feb. 3, 1936, in Nelson, Okla., he was a resident of Cache. He grew up in Nelson and Soper, Okla. He moved to San Marcos in 1959 and retired from the San Diego Wild Animal Park as manager of transportation maintenance after 21 years. He was a member of Elks Lodge for over 22 years and a member of the Church of Christ.
Mr. Phillips is survived by his wife of 47 years, Donna Sue Riley of Cache; son and daughter-in-law Louis Allen and Michelle Norine Phillips of Cache; daughter and son-in-law Susan Lynell and Christopher Mark Nealis of San Marcos; sisters Hazel Lorene Robertson of Broomfield, Colo., and Mozelle Corella Jackson of Grandfield, Okla.; grandchildren Patrick Allen Phillips of Lawton, Kristie Lynell Bliss of Cache, Amanda Michelle Nealis and Hannah Christine Nealis both of San Marcos; great-grandchildren Marcus Allen Yackeyonny of Cache, Lacee Lynell Bliss of Cache, Devin Alexis Phillips of Lawton and Stephanie Elizabeth Phillips of Lawton; nieces and nephews Lorene Glover of Broomfield, Colo., Joe DeBoard of San Jose, John DeBoard of Lawton and Leah Lindsey of Lubbock, Texas.
A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 3 in the Lawton Rittter Gray Funeral Home Chapel, in Cache, with the Rev. Jim Antwine, of Carriage Hills Christian Church officiating. Burial is at Cache Cemetery.

Florence Becker, 92
FALLBROOK - Florence H. Becker, 92, died Saturday, July 1, 2000.
Born Jan. 20, 1908, in Santa Monica, she was a resident of Fallbrook for ten years. She was a homemaker for 40 years.
Mrs. Becker was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Becker in 1972 and son David Barclay Bryan in 1997. She is survived by daughter Judy Bramble of Carmel; close friend and care-giver of 25 years, Eva Cadena of Fallbrook; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
There will be a private cremation and remains will be scatted off the coast of Oahu, Hawaii.

VISTA - Rosa Sue Dickey, 69, died Thursday, June 29, 2000, at Tri-City Hospital of heart failure.
Born Sept. 6, 1930, in Seymour, Mo., she was a resident of Vista for 15 years. She retired as a children's shoe store manager for Stride Rite.
Mrs. Dickey is survived by her husband of 50 years, Coy O. Dickey of Vista; sons Chris A. Dickey of Blackhawk, Colo., and David R. Dickey of Denver; daughter Jerdith G. Scheffler (Hill) of Vista; brother Cyrus Whatley of Denver; sister Ruthann Lester of San Diego; grandchildren Daxton Dickey, Joshua Hill and Karissa and Chad Scheffler.
A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 3 at Green Valley Mobile Park, Vista.
Inurnment will be at a private service at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery.

ESCONDIDO - Kay Cryer, 79, died Saturday, July 1, 2000, at her residence.
Born June 5, 1921, in Leeton, Mo., she was a resident of Escondido for 40 years. She was a retail clerk for Big Bear Market in the early 1960s and drove a school bus for the Escondido and Valley Center School Districts from 1967 to 1979. She was member of the California School Employees Association and a fourth generation member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Unit 468 in Julian.
Mrs. Cryer was preceded in death by her husband Del Cryer in 1997. She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law Beck Gambrill of Julian, and Peggy and Don Goodall of Escondido; sister Virginia Massengale of Huntington Beach; grandson Daymon Henne of Escondido and Stean Stein and wife Tracie of Albany, Ore.; granddaughter Shannon Stein and partner Fail Taylor of Warner Springs; great granddaughters Kendra and Ashley Stein of Albany, and Corel Taylor of Warner Springs; great grandson Banning Taylor or Warner Springs.
No formal services will be held.

SAN MARCOS - Irene S. Lowe, 97, died Friday, June 30, 2000, at a local convalescent home.
Born May 7, 1903, in Lavon, Texas, she was a resident of San Marcos, living in the San Diego area for two years and in the Bay area for 14 years. She was a junior high school teacher in Tyler, Texas for 43 years.
Mrs. Lowe is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Joe and Judy Lowe of Lake San Marcos; grandson Brian F. Lowe of Pennsacola, Fla., and granddaughter Meredith V. Lowe of Chico.
There will be a private interment.

Alex Peterson, 91
ESCONDIDO - Alex L. Peterson, 91, died Saturday, July 1, 2000, at his home.
Born July 5, 1908, in Buffalo, N.Y., he was a resident of Escondido for 25 years. He retired in 1972 as a construction foreman and was a member of Escondido Elks Lodge #1687.
Mr. Peterson is survived by his wife of 15 years, Ruth Peterson of Escondido; step-son Allen Smith of Aliso Viejo; step-daughter Sylvia Hatcher of San Diego; daughters Joyce Marie LaCarte and Carolyn Ann Barlund, both of Iberia, Mo.; brother Eugene Pietrazak of Buffalo, N.Y.; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday, July 7, at Alhiser-Comer Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Richard Huls officiating. Interment will follow the service at El Camino Memorial Park.

Born Jan. 29, 1925, in Detroit, she was a resident of Escondido for ten years. She was in account's receivables for 30 years at Chevron USA.
Ms. Eisele is survived by daughter Bettina "Tina" L. Vesper-Gralnic of Escondido; brother Donald Eisele of Georgia; sister Virginia Cherry of Lancaster and five grandchildren.
Graveside services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 5, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park - Hollywood Hills.

SAN MARCOS - Helen R. Chapman, 65, died Saturday, July 1, 2000, at Palomar Medical Center.
Born June 9, 1935, in Lenoir City, Tenn., she was a resident of San Marcos for 37 years.
Mrs. Chapman is survived by her husband of 48 years, Ralph E. Chapman of San Marcos; parents George and Louise Chapman of El Monte; sons and daughters-in-law George and Patti Chapman of Escondido and Richard Chapman of Bells, Tenn., daughter and son-in-law Kathy and Logan Norris of San Marcos; brother Tom Stafford of Bells, Tenn.; sister Nancy Rook of Chiloguin, Ore., and grandchildren Adina Osborn, Adam Norris and Afton Norris.

Noella Nadeau, 71, died Friday, June 16, 2000, in Murrieta.
Born Dec. 25, 1928, in Lewiston, Maine, she lived in Murrieta for 25 years. She worked as a designer for McDonnell-Douglas Corp. in Long Beach for 40 years. She loved being around family and animals and liked antiques.
Mrs. Nadeau is survived by her husband, Normand Nadeau of Murrieta; brothers and sisters-in-law Normand and Elaine Bosse of Ritchfield, Maine, and Gerald and Claudette of Durhan, Maine; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Jacqueline and Normand Labbe of Miet, Maine; many nephews and nieces.
She is preceded in death by her son, Steven Nadeau, 1983.
A private Mass was scheduled at Valley Funeral Home.

Robert Emerson Morrison, 69
Robert Emerson Morrison, 69, died Saturday, July 1, 2000, in Temecula.
Born Nov. 24, 1930, in Joplin, Mo., he lived in Temecula for one year. He was a senior vice president with the Howard Hughes Corp., and a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
His hobbies were woodworking, helping his daughter, Vikki, with here stained-glass window business and spending time with his family. He also was a boxer during his two-year Navy stint.
Mr. Morrison is survived by his wife, Willie Morrison of Temecula; daughter, Vikki Sylvia, of Temecula; brothers, Garrett Morrison of Wichita, Ka., and Paul Morrison of New Orleans; sister, Mary Doll Morrison, of Hackettstown, NJ; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A service is scheduled for 2 p.m. , July 8 at Miller-Jones Mortuary Chapel with burial at Sea off the Coast of San Diego cemetery,

Margaret Marie Reiter, 87, died Saturday, June 24, 2000, at Menifee Valley Medical Center, Sun City.
Born May 2, 1913 in Chicago, she was a resident of Sun City for 20 years.
She was a self-employed film develor in Albuquerque. Mrs. Reiter was a confirmed Lutheran and her religion was a source of comfort to her in her later years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert, and a borther, Victor Niles.
She is survived by her cousins, Joyce Platzkow and Walter Platzkow, both of Langdon, ND.
Burial will be at Immanuel Redeemer Lutheran cemetery in Dresden, ND. Miller-Jones Mortuary, Inc. is handling arrangements.
Dennis Vadney, 47
ONTARIO - Dennis James Vadney, 47, died Friday, June 23, 2000.
Born April 24, 1953 in Oceanside, he was a resident of Ontario for 10 years. Mr. Vadney was employed by Hundai Corp of Los Angeles. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War in the military police. He went to Palomar College and San Diego State.
Mr. Vadney is survived by his mother Vivian Vadney of Oceanside; son Vincent Vadney of Ontario; daughters Amanda and Valine Vadney of Ontario; brother and sister-in-law Peter G. and Patricia Vadney of Germany.

Born July 14, 1942, in Stillwell, Okla., she was a resident of Escondido for ten years. She was a secretary for Burney and Sons Plumbing.
Ms. Allen is survived by daughters Patricia A. Mahoney of Escondido, Gail Marie Hines of Alabama and Shirleen Gemma Holmes of Escondido; brother Thomas Roach of New Mexico; sister Maxine Jo Burney of Poway and seven grandchildren.

ESCONDIDO - Leone Margaret Colford, 82, died Sunday, July 2, 2000.
Born Oct. 18, 1917, in Illinois, she was a resident of Escondido for nine years. She was an retired army nurse in the U.S. Army.
Mrs. Colford was preceded in death by her husband Fredrick Colford in 1987. She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law Steve and Trudy Colford of Escondido and James and Patty Colford of Freemont; sisters Therese Vaughan of Phoenix and Gene Woods of Del Mar; grandchildren Matthew Stephanie and Kelly Colford.
Visitation is scheduled from 4 to 8 tonight at Alhiser-Comer Mortuary. A Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 6, at Church of the Resurrection in Escondido. Burial will follow the Mass to Oakhill Memorial Park.
