CHULA VISTA - Pamela Ann Johnson, 64, died Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2000, at Palomar Medical Center.
Born April 16, 1936, in Rockford, Ill., she lived in Chula Vista for 61 years. She was a clerk in various departments for the county of San Diego before retiring in 1986.
Mrs. Johnson is survived by her sons, Eric Johnson of Vista and Lance Johnson of Escondido; daughters Cassandra Johnson and Kimberly Johnson, both of Chula Vista; and grandchildren Elyse Johnson, Greve Johnson and Jordan Johnson.
A private family service will be held at a later date. A private cremation is planned.

OCEANSIDE - Faye Price, 74, died Wednesday, April 16, 2000, in Oceanside.
Born March 18, 1926, in Elk City, Okla., she lived in Oceanside for 10 years and had lived in Redondo Beach for many years.
Mrs. Price is survived by her husband, Bill Price; mother Mary Peek; daughters Willa Key and Alice Takeshita; son Wes Price; grandchildren Dell Bartello, David Sisk, Shari Nelson and Kristi Lancer; and great-grandchildren Elizabeth Bartello, Kyle Nelson, Garrett Nelson, Rachel Nelson, Ryan Lancer and Shane Lancer.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, at Family Fellowship Church in Oceanside, with the Rev. Mike Robertson officiating. A funeral service was held Monday, Aug. 21, at White & Day Colonial Chapel in Redondo Beach, Interment followed at Pacific Crest cemetery in Redondo Beach, with white doves released in her honor.
Theodore Sousa, 87
SAN MARCOS - Theodore Joseph Sousa, 87, died Sunday, Aug. 20, 2000, at his home.
Born Sept. 23, 1912, in Oakland, he lived in San Marcos for five years. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a procurement and distribution manager for McKesson Corp. before retiring.
Mr. Sousa is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Robert Basie of Olivenhain; and grandchildren Justin and Kristina Basie, both of Olivenhain.
A memorial service will be celebrated at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 27, at Solana Beach Presbyterian Church. A private inurnment will take place at Cypress Lawn Memorial Park in Colma.

OCEANSIDE - Martha Washington, 95, died Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2000, in Oceanside.
Born Feb. 22, 1925, in Missouri, she lived in Oceanside. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Washington is survived by her husband of 55 years, Norman Walton; sons Douglas Walton of Los Angeles and Lawrence Walton of Oceanside; sisters Dorothy Stroud of Fountain Valley and Eleanor Williams of Springfield, Mo.; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A private cremation is planned, with cremains to be scattered at sea.

SUN CITY - Milda M. Davis, 88, died Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2000, from an enlarged heart, at Sun City Convalescent Home.
Born Monday, Oct. 16, 1911, in Anaheim, she lived in Sun City for five years. She was a nurse at Valley Hospital in Los Angeles for 15 years before retiring and was a Sunday school teacher at the First Baptist Church in Reseda.
Mrs. Davis is survived by her son, Roger Marquardt of Sun City; and sister Elnora Johnson of Sun City.

Thelma McMullen, 95
TEMECULA - Thelma Frances McMullen, 95, died Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2000, at Sunbridge Care Center, in Fullerton.
Born Dec. 25, 1904, in South Bend, Ind., she lived in Temecula for 23 years. She was an assembly line worker for Northrop Aircraft for five years, a member of Rancho Community Church in Temecula and a past member of Gray Ladies Club at Camp Pendleton.
Mrs. McMullen was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Lee McMullen, in 1982. She is survived by her son, David Stapf of Simi Valley; daughter Barbara Kay of Temecula; stepdaughters Joan Langenhovel of San Jacinto and Bonnie Nevill of Oceanside; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, at Berry-Bell & Hall Fallbrook Mortuary Chapel, with the Rev. Art Blodgett officiating. Burial will take place on Monday, Aug. 28, at Fallbrook Masonic Cemetery.

Pedro Balignasay, 73
OCEANSIDE - Pedro Pagtulingan Balignasay, 73, died Saturday, Aug. 19, 2000, of a heart attack, at Tri-City Hospital.
Born July 22, 1927, in Badoc Illocos Norte, Philippines, he lived in Oceanside for 33 years. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II, the Korean War and did three tours in Vietnam before retiring as a gunnery sergeant in 1973.
Mr. Balignasay was preceded in death by his brother, Teofilo P. Balignasay, in 1996. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Elidia P. Balignasay of Oceanside; sons and daughter-in-law Roy Balignasay, Peter Balignasay, Peter Balignasay, Edwin Balignasay, Robert Balignasay and Ricky and Rosinda Balignasay, all of Oceanside; daughters and sons-in-law Marissa and Greg Mendez, Susan and Frank DeAmicis and Belinda and Foti Burtzos, all of Oceanside; sisters and brothers-in-law Leonora and Alfredo Bala and Arcenia and Miguel Pascua, all of Waipahu, Hawaii; and grandchildren Greg, Gabriel, Julian and Juston Mendez, Keli, Chris and Matthew Balignasay, Alyssa, Alexandra, Andrew and Trevor Burtzos and Franky DeAmicis.

OCEANSIDE - Henry C. Kurn, 88, died Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2000, of heart failure, at his home.
Born March 7, 1912, in Poland, he lived in Oceanside for 13 years. He worked for Palomar Community College before retiring and was a prisoner of war during World War II. He was a member of the Palomar Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Vista.
Mr. Kurn is survived by his wife of 55 years; son Andrew M.L. Kurn of Vancouver, British Columbia; daughter Rachel Kusher of Los Angeles; and sister Belle Goldberg of Toronto, Ontario.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 24, at Palomar Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Vista, with the Rev. Carol Hilton officiating.
Roy Trent, 76
VALLEY CENTER - Roy Fremond Trent, 76, died Thursday, Aug. 24, 2000, of heart failure.
Born Nov. 8, 1923, in Thornfield, Mo., he lived in Valley Center for 14 years. He was a self-employed beekeeper, producing honey for the Sioux Honey Assn. for 25 years. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and worked in the aircraft industry in San Diego for many years. He was past president of East San Diego Little League.
Mr. Trent is survived by his wife of 52 years, Ellen Maxine Trent of Valley Center; sons and daughters-in-law Roy N. and Diane Trent of El Centro and the Rev. Michael L. and Candy Trent of Boise, Idaho; grandchildren April Trent, Nina Sutton, Andrea Duncan and David Trent; and great-grandchild Braiden Sutton.

RANCHO BERNARDO - Minnie M. Butner, 94, died Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2000, in Rancho Bernardo.
Born May 15, 1906, in Dover, Kan., she lived in Rancho Bernardo for five years and in Valley Center for eight years. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Butner was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Francis C. Butner, in 1995. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Norman and Angeline Butner of Valley Center; brother Louis Alexander of Topeka, Kan.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Donald Lundberg, 84
CARLSBAD - Dr. Donald E. Lundberg, 84, died Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2000.
Born June 10, 1916, in Waterloo, Iowa, he lived in Carlsbad for 25 years. He served in the U.S. Navy on a carrier in the Pacific theater during World War II, achieving the rank of commander. He earned a Ph.D. in psychology from Cornell University and became the assistant professor of hotel administration at Cornell University after chairing several departments in hospitality management. He started the school of hospitality management at California Polytechnic University in Pomona, serving as chairman and professor for 10 years and retiring as professor emeritus. After retirement he worked with United States International in San Diego, serving as consultant, professor and dean of the school of business.
Dr. Lundberg is survived by his wife, Carolyn Lundberg; sons and daughters-in-law Dr. Alan and Alvina Lundberg of Sacramento, Derek and Debbie Lundberg of Vista and Lance and Alison Lundberg of Westport, Conn.; and nine grandchildren.

ENCINITAS - Helen Anderton, 77, died Thursday, Aug. 24, 2000, at Sun Bridge Care Center in Escondido.
Born Oct. 26, 1922, she lived in Encinitas. She was a retired teacher.

SUN CITY - Arthur Emzy Huckaby, 86, died Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2000, at Our Country Side Resort in Perris.
Born Aug. 20, 1914, in Hemet, he lived in Sun City for six years. He was a minister for the United Methodist Church in Southern California for 42 years. He enjoyed collecting Bibles, photography, gardening and music.
Mr. Huckaby is survived by his wife, Gail Huckaby of Sun City; sons James Huckaby of Escondido and Robert Huckaby of Hayward; daughters Ruth Pemble of Moreno Valley and Joan Williamson of Santee; brother Everett Huckaby of Sun City; sisters Ione Leonard of Salem, Ore., and Betty Peterson of Bozeman, Mont.; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
