Nancy Jarrard, 39
AUBURN, Wash. - Nancy Eileen Jarrard, 39, died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2000, in Seattle.
Born Oct. 27, 1960, in San Diego, she lived in Auburn for eight years and had lived in San Diego, Hemet, Idyllwild, Palm Desert and Wichita Falls, Texas. She was a waitress and worked in manufacturing before retiring.
Mrs. Jarrard is survived by her companion of two years, Dennis Hall of Auburn; mother Jean Lee of Palm Desert; father and stepmother Selden John and Adrienne Martin of Escondido; daughter Coral Williams of Auburn; brother Scott Martin of Phoenix; half-brothers and sisters-in-law Donald and Patti Martin of Escondido, Roger and Amber Martin of Poway and Jonathan White of Dunsmuir; sister Stephanie Finman of Staten Island, N.Y.; half sisters Susan Martin and Astrid Martin, both of Escondido, and Debra Hodge of Twin Falls, Idaho; and grandchild Joseph Mull Jr.
Viewing will be held Saturday, Aug. 12, and Sunday, Aug. 13, at Price-Helton Funeral Home. A funeral service is scheduled for 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, at Price-Felton Funeral Home. Burial will take place at 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 14, at Mountain View cemetery in Auburn.

Joseph Kovach, 92
ESCONDIDO - Joseph Kovach, 92, died Monday, Aug. 7, 2000.
Born July 21, 1908, in Hocking, Ohio, he lived in Escondido for 20 years. He was self-employed.
Mr. Kovach was preceded in death by his wife, Julia Kovach. He is survived by his son, Gerald J. Kovach of Annapolis, Md.; daughter Dolores Pacos of La Jolla; brother Bill Kovach of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; sisters Thelma Erdos of Michigan and Charolette Oravecz of Sun City, Ariz.; and two grandchildren.
A private family service is planned. Burial will take place at Oak Hill Memorial Park.

Sydney Payne, 10 weeks
ESCONDIDO - Sydney Quinlan Payne, 10 weeks, died Thursday, Aug. 10, 2000, at Children's Hospital in San Diego.
She was born May 31, 2000, at San Diego Mary Birch Hospital.
Sydney si survived by her mother and father, Amy and David Payne of Escondido; sisters Maggie and Zoey Payne of Escondido; grandparents Don and Charlene Smallwood of Escondido and Jeanette Payne of Fallon, Nev.; great-grandmothers Nelle Green of Temple City, Frances Smallwood of Escondido and Thelma Payne of Salt Lake City; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, Aug. 14, at Oak Hill Cemetery, with the Rev. James Learned of the Emmanuel Faith Church officiating.

Joyce Pettersen, 70
FALLBROOK - Joyce Pettersen, 70, died Monday, Aug. 7, 2000, at San Diego Hospice.
Born April 14, 1930, in Eureka, she lived in Blythe since 1958. She was a co-owner of Pettersen Electric in Blythe. She was a member of the Jr. Women's and Soroptomist clubs of Blythe, serving as president.
Mrs. Pettersen is survived by her husband, Pete Pettersen of Fallbrook; sons Alec Pettersen and Eric Pettersen; daughters-in-law Connie Pettersen and Janet Pettersen; and grandchildren Alexis, Ryan, Jordyn and Reece.
A memorial service will be held at 8 a.m. Monday, Aug. 14, at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church.

John Martin, 96
ESCONDIDO - John A. Martin, 96, died Thursday, Aug. 10, 2000, in Escondido.
Born July 3, 1904, in Muncie, Ind., he lived in Escondido for 27 years. He was the executor of advertising for Montgomery Ward for 42 years.
Mr. Martin is survived by his wife of 17 years, Vera Martin of Escondido; son and daughter-in-law Bruce and Marica Martin of Pacoima; daughter and son-in-law Joyce and Charles Logan of Little Rock, Ark.; grandchildren Charles Russell, Christopher and Karen; and great-grandchild Connor.
A graveside service will be held at 9 a.m. Friday, Aug. 18, at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Inurnment will follow.
The family suggests memorial donations to Elizabeth Hospice, 150 Crest St., Escondido, CA 92025.

William Repp, 83
SAN MARCOS - William Repp Sr., 83, died Thursday, Aug. 10, 2000, in San Marcos.
Born Aug. 28, 1916, in Massillon, Ohio, he lived in San Marcos for three years. He was a policeman for Timken Co. and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Mr. Repp is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, William Jr. and Judy Repp of San Diego, Larry and Cathy Wilson of Dallas and Gary Wilson of Arizona City, Ariz.; grandchildren Jennifer Repp, Lance Repp, Gary Wilson Jr., Chris Coe and Wendy Wilson; and four great-grandchildren.
All services will be held in Canton, Ohio.

Albert Notermann, 82
CANYON LAKE - Albert J. Notermann, 82, died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2000, at Riverside County Regional Medical Center in Moreno Valley.
Born Aug. 22, 1917, in Minnesota, he lived in Canyon Lake for 11 years. He was a self-employed real estate broker in Inglewood for 20 years. He was a member and vice president of the Canyon Lake Anglers Club.
Mr. Notermann is survived by his wife, Lucele Notermann of Canyon Lake; daughters Eileen Bond of Boulder, Colo., and Ellen Notermann and Nancy Notermann, both of San Luis Obispo; and three grandchildren.

Ferrill Hawkins, 88
MURRIETA - Ferrill Allman Hawkins, 88, died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2000, of emphysema, at his home.
Born Feb. 21, 1912, in Quanah, Texas, he lived in Murrieta for 13 years. He was a manager for Kettenburg Marine for 20 years and was a semi-pro baseball player in the Texas League. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club.
Mr. Hawkins is survived by his wife, Marguerite Hawkins of Murrieta; sons and daughters-in-law Thomas and Dee Dee Hawkins of Lakewood and Patrick and Theresa Hawkins of Denver; daughters and sons-in-law Roma and William Cummingham of Yucaipa, Koleta and Darel Blum of North Las Vegas, Sharon and Wayne Nichols of Lake Elsinore, Janice and Tom Dotts of Fountain Valley and Joyce Baylles of Anacortes, Wash.; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m., with a rosary recited at 5 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 13, at Valley Funeral Home in Murrieta. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 14, at St. Martha's Catholic Church in Murrieta. Burial will follow at Temecula Cemetery.

Carleton Taylor, 91
SUN CITY - Carleton Clare Taylor Jr., 91, died Thursday, Aug. 10, 2000, of congestive heart failure, at Forever Young Home in Romoland.
Born Aug. 6, 1909, in Denver, he lived in Sun City for 13 years. He worked for Boeing in Seattle during World War II and was a teacher for 17 years in New Mexico, Arizona and California, working last for the Bureau of Indian Affairs. He was a 32nd-Degree Mason with the Scottish Rite in Seattle and a Mason at Thomas M. Reed Lodge, No. 225. He invented an instrument for freezing cancer and mastered the duplication of the cube. He enjoyed reading.
Mr. Taylor is survived by his wife, Ruth Taylor of Sun City; son Robert Frank Bowers of Lakeland; grandsons Robert David and Mark James; and great-grandchildren Jeni Elaine and Lora Lorraine.

Thomas Forrer, 83
SUN CITY - Thomas Richard "Dick" Forrer Sr., 83, died Friday, Aug. 11, 2000, of lung cancer. at his home.
Born Nov. 1, 1916, in Princeton, Kan., he lived in Sun City for 25 years. He was a supervisor at Douglas Aircraft for 31 years. He enjoyed gardening, bicycling and bowling. He participated in the Senior Olympics division of bowling.
Mr. Forrer is survived by his wife, Ruth Forrer of Sun City; daughter Christine Couts of Fullerton; sons Thomas Forrer Jr. of Austin, Texas, and Robert Forrer of Albuquerque, N.M.; brother Lamar Forrer of Princeton, Kan.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A private family service is planned.

Rozella Findlay, 92
ESCONDIDO - Rozella W. Findlay, 92, died Monday, Aug. 7, 2000, of congestive heart failure following surgery, at Palomar Medical Center.
Born Jan. 24, 1908, in Bodyville, Iowa, she lived in Escondido for 40 years. She was a piano teacher in Ottumwa, Iowa, for 50 years. She was a member of the Ottumwa Service League, a 63-year member of P.E.O. Sisterhood, a member of Eastern Star and the First United Methodist Church in Ottumwa and Escondido and of the Redwood Terrace Auxiliary.
Mrs. Findlay was preceded in death by her husband, Dan R. Findlay, in 1992. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Gary W. and Jerry Findlay of San Clemente; daughter and son-in-law Mary Lou and Warren Murray of Pauma Valley; sisters Marilyn Jones of Salt Lake City and Betty Miller of Beaver, Utah; grandchildren Scott Murray, Todd Murray, Lori Bullard, Bruce Findlay and Lisa Romero; and great-grandchildren Kaitlin Murray, Mark Findlay, Glen Findlay and Richard Bullard.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 17, at the First United Methodist Church in Escondido, with Dr. Ralph B. Johnson officiating.
The family suggests memorial donations to the First United Methodist Church, 341 S. Kalmia St., Escondido, CA 92025; the PEO Scholarship Fund, c/o Joan Simmons, 310 Skyridge Lane, Escondido, CA 92026; or a charity of choice.

Millard Beemer, 95
PAUMA VALLEY - Millard J. Beemer, 95, died Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2000, at Palomar Medical Center.
Born July 27, 1905, in Pawpaw, Ill., he lived in Pauma Valley for more than 20 years. He was a self-employed citrus and avocado rancher for more than 70 years.
Mr. Beemer is survived by his sisters, Zelma Walworth of Pauma Valley and Ruth McFarland of Villa Park.
A private inurnment will take place at Fairhaven Memorial Park in Santa Ana.

Bessie Smith, 84
OCEANSIDE - Bessie Smith (Carter), 84, died Saturday, Aug. 12, 2000, in Vista.
Born April 26, 1911, in Canada, she lived in Oceanside for 64 years. She worked for the Navy Relief Society and was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Smith Jr., in 1956; and one sister. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Robert L. III and Irene Smith of Oceanside; grandchildren Dana Zimmerman of Hawaii and Mandy Georgetti of Encinitas; and eight great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 17, at Eternal Hills Mortuary. Interment will follow at Eternal Hills Memorial Park.

Mary Ann Redfield, 88
VISTA - Mary Ann Redfield, 88, died Friday, Aug. 11, 2000, in Vista.
Born Sept. 6, 1911, in Iowa, she lived in Vista. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Redfield was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Redfield. She is survived by her brother, Raymond Parker; and numerous nephews and nieces.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 16, at Eternal Hills Memorial Park. Interment will follow.

Olga Gloor, 80
VISTA - Olga Vrabel Gloor, 80, died Saturday, Aug. 12, 2000, at Palomar Medical Center.
Born March 28, 1920, in Chicago, she lived in Vista for 33 years. She was a professional bowler on the women's tour for 20 years.
Mrs. Gloor was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick Albert Gloor, on May 22, 1988. She is survived by her nephews, William Saunders of Hawthorne and Jon Vrabel of Peoria, Ill.; nieces Marcella Saunders of Santa Monica, Ardene Kauppila of McHenry, Ill., and Vivian Kerber of Henderson, Nev.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. today, Aug. 15, at the First Lutheran Church in Vista, with the Rev. Cathy Bohman officiating. A private cremation is planned.
The family suggests memorial donations to International Bowling Museum & Hall of Fame, 111 Stadium Plaza, St. Louis, MO 63102.

Fernando Guadarrama, 45
OCEANSIDE - Fernando Guadarrama, 45, died Friday, Aug. 11, 2000, in Oceanside.
Born May 12, 1955, in Mexico, he lived in Oceanside for 15 years.
Mr. Guadarrama was preceded in death by his father, Pedro Guadarrama. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Maria Guadarrama of Oceanside; mother Carmen Guadarrama; son Fernando Guadarrama of Oceanside; daughters Jacqueline Guadarrama and Juliana Guadarrama, both of Oceanside.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 4 p.m., with a rosary recited at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 16, at Eternal Hills Chapel. A Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 17, at Mission San Luis Rey, with the Rev. Garrett Galvin officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date.

Dorothy Fields, 89
ENCINITAS - Dorothy C. Fields, 89, died Thursday, Aug. 10, 2000, in Encinitas.
Born Aug. 21, 1910, in Kansas City, Kan., she lived in Encinitas. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Fields was preceded in death by her husband, Joel B. Fields. She is survived by her daughters, Martha J. Fredenburg of La Mirada and Dorothy Jo Brady of Alaska; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held Monday, Aug. 14, at Eternal Hills Mortuary. Burial followed at Eternal Hills Memorial Park.
The family suggests memorial donations to a hospice of choice or the American Heart Association, 3640 Fifth Ave., San Diego, CA 92101.
