Jean Earle, 84
VISTA - Jean Mary Earle, 84, died Sunday, April 22, 2001, at Life Care Center of Vista.
Born July 11, 1916, in Patmos, Ark., she lived in Vista for 28 years. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Earle was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Wilbur Earle, in 1984. She is survived by numerous friends and caregivers.
No formal services are planned. Burial will be at Riverside National Cemetery.

Marjorie Rosewall, 79
OCEANSIDE - Marjorie Rosewall, 79, died Sunday, April 22, 2001, at her home.
Born Dec. 12, 1921, in Benton Harbor, Mich., she lived in Oceanside for 20 years. She was retired from Deutch Electronics as an electronic technician.
Ms. Rosewall is survived by sons and daughter-in-law Harold Rosewall and Lee and Kay Rosewall of Hartford, Conn.; and grandchildren Jake Rosewall of Santa Barbara, Alaina Rosewall of North Lake Tahoe and Matthew Rosewall of Hartford, Conn.
Visitation is scheduled from 9 to 10:30 a.m. with memorial service at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 26, at Eternal Hills Mortuary. Burial will be held at a later date and time at Eternal Hills Memorial Park.

John Bianchi, 89
FALLBROOK - John Joseph Bianchi, 89, died Friday, April 20, 2001, at his home of complications from Parkinson's disease.
Born June 24, 1911, in Brooklyn, N.Y., he lived in Fallbrook for 30 years. He retired from Bianchi International in December 1994. He was a New York City police officer in the 1940s. He served as chairman of the board for Bianchi Leather Products Co. He was a member of the Fallbrook Tennis Club. He supported the Elks Lodge, Knights of Columbus, National Rifle Association and the Fallbrook Hospital Foundation.
Mr. Bianchi was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Bianchi in November 1996 and grandson John Richard Bianchi. He is survived by son and daughter-in-law John and Nikki Bianchi of Rancho Mirage; daughters and sons-in-law Mary Lou and Tony Herrera of Bradbury and Jane and Stephen Spencer of Fallbrook; sister-in-law Emily Andrews; grandchildren Hope and John Sjursen, Shirlene and Scott Frasco, Elizabeth Bianchi, Mark and Karen Herrera, Dino and Stalia Herrera, Mathew and Valerie Herrera Kevin and Katie Spencer, Phillip Spencer, Russell Spencer, and Christine and Pete Hagen; and 14 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, May 5, at Calvary Chapel with the Rev. Pat Herrell officiating. A private burial at Eternal Hills with the Rev. Danny Ramos officiating is planned.

CARLSBAD - Irene Haslam, 84, died Thursday, April 19, 2001, in Escondido.
Born Nov. 5, 1916, in Gardena, she lived in Carlsbad for 18 years. She had previously lived in Riverside since 1941.
Mrs. Haslam was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, R. Glen Haslam, and daughters Kathy Ann Evans and Shirley Rowden. She is survived by daughters Laura Gaumer of Bonsall and Glenda Hannig of Fresno; sister-in-law Jane Hawkins of Redlands; grandsons Glen Rowden of Riverside, Norman Rowden of Solana Beach, Steve Rea of San Francisco and John Hannig of Fresno; granddaughters Sandi Rowden of Burbank and Marchon Hannig of San Jose; and five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation is scheduled from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 25, at Inglewood Mortuary in Inglewood with graveside to follow at noon at Inglewood Park Cemetery.
Audrey Smith, 97
RAMONA - Audrey Smith, 97, died Thursday, April 12, 2001, at an Escondido convalescent hospital.
Born March 11, 1904, in Salt Lake City, she had lived previously in Escondido and San Marcos. She was a homemaker and enjoyed watercolors when she was younger.
Mrs. Smith is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Patricia and D. Paul Martin of San Diego Country Estates; 33 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held on April 17, at Ramona Nuevo Memory Gardens.

VALLEY CENTER - Terri Lou Hazelton, 53, died Friday, April 20, 2001, at her home.
Born May 8, 1947, in Whittier, she lived in Valley Center for 15 years. She was an administrative secretary for TRW for 20 years.
Mrs. Hazelton is survived by her husband of 26 years, William J. Hazelton of Valley Center; sons William M. Hazelton of Valley Center, Robert Perry Hazelton of Temecula and Robert William Walton of Valley Center; daughters Laura Lee Hazelton of East Peoria, Ill., and Tiffany Jenell Walton of Valley Center; brothers Robert Russell Walton and Kurt Allen Walton, both of Victorville; sister Jan Marie Spencer of Medford, Ore.; and seven grandchildren.
Private family services will be held. A private cremation is planned.

CHULA VISTA - Mabel S. Lundy, 86, died Thursday, April 19, 2001.
Born Nov. 10, 1914, in Calgary Canada, she lived in Chula Vista for one year. She worked at Ink & Paint for Walter Lantz and was a master gardener. She was a flower lady for San Marcos United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Lundy was preceded in death by her husband, Dick Lundy, in April 1990. She is survived by stepsons Terry Lundy and Rick Lundy; stepdaughter Daviana McFadden; daughter and son-in-law Llewellyn and Daniel Olson of Chula Vista; and grandchildren Stephanie Rodriguez and Jonathan Olson.

Kenneth Stevens, 60
ENCINITAS - Kenneth C. Stevens, 60, died Saturday, April 21, 2001, at his home.
Born Sept. 19, 1940, in Wyandotte, Mich., he lived in San Diego County for 16 years. He was a retired auto salesman. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve.
Mr. Stevens is survived by his wife of 33 years, Rita Stevens of Encinitas; sons John Stevens of San Leandro, Michael Stevens of San Francisco and David Stevens of Encinitas; sisters Jean Kreger of Wyandotte, Mich., and Ann Davis of Dexter, Mich.; and one grandchild.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 25, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Mission San Luis Rey cemetery in Oceanside.

Mike Santana, 35
VISTA - Mike B. Santana, 35, died Saturday, April 14, 2001, in North San Diego County of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Born July 12, 1965, in Reykjarik, Iceland, he lived in Vista for 17 years. He was employed by Mossy as an auto technician. He coached Pop Warner football and was a member of Vista American Little League. He enjoyed the desert and motorcycle riding.
Mr. Santana was preceded in death by his mother, Maghea V. Santana, on May 2, 2000. He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Sarah Santana of Vista; father James A. Santana of Oceanside; sons James Anthony Santana II of Vista and Christopher Brian Santana of Vista; sisters Asdis Santana-Newell of Vista; and brother-in-law William Newell of Vista.
A memorial service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, April 28, at New Song Church in Vista with the Rev. Hat Seed officiating.

Scott Stile, 52
CARLSBAD - Warren Scott Stile, 52, died Friday, April 13, 2001, in Long Beach.
Born June 22, 1949, in Long Beach, he lived in Carlsbad since 1979. Mr. Stile was an avid golfer, loved to travel, and enjoyed his music and guitar playing. He will be missed greatly by the Carlsbad community.
Mr. Stile was preceded in death by his father, Warren Arthur Stile in 1972. He is survived by his mother, Gene Stile of Long Beach and brother Tracy Stile of Lahaina Naui and daughter Tiffany Stile of New Jersey.
There will be a friend and family gathering at noon, Friday, April 27, at the Alley Pub in the Village of Carlsbad.
Dennis Michael Kollar
Dennis Michael Kollar, 53, beloved father, brother and son died April 19, 2001.
Born in New Jersey, he moved with his family to San Diego at the age of 3 and spent most of his life here. After high school at St. Augustine, he served in the Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He then joined the San Diego Sheriff's Department where he spent 25 years on the force and retired as Captain Kollar. The last seven years were spent in Reno as deputy director for the Commission on Peace Officers' Standards and Training for the state of Nevada.
Any friend of Dennis knew that he was an avid sports fan. His three MVP's were the lights of his life: his daughters Renee, Colleen and Megan.
He is survived by his daughters Renee and Colleen of Vista and Megan of Reno, his mother Catherine, his sister and brother-in-law Mary Beth and Scott Ring and his nieces and nephews Michael, Clinton, Emily, Nolan and Rebecca.
Viewing will be at Allen Brothers Mortuary in Vista on Tuesday evening from 5-9 with a Rosary at 7.
The funeral will be held at the Old Church at the Mission San Luis Rey in Oceanside on Wednesday at 1 p.m. followed by the burial at Eternal Hills.
The family suggests donations be made to the American Heart Association in his name.

Frances E. Bourchard Krebs born to eternal life on April 3, 2001. Beloved wife of the late George, loving mother of Mary Dittman of Portage, Wis., and Kathy Greene of Encinitas. Michael Lavelli, 86
EL CAJON - Michael "Mike" Leonard Iavelli, 86, died Saturday, April 21, 2001, of natural causes.
Born Nov. 6, 1914, in Porterville, he lived in El Cajon for 81 years.
He was a self-employed plasterer tender. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He worked at his parent's winery in Poway, the Bernardo Winery and at San Diego Gas & Electric.
Mr. Iavelli is survived by his brothers Carl A. Iavelli and Mondo Iavelli and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation is scheduled from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 26, at Cypress View Chapel in San Diego. A graveside service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, April 27, at Dearborn Memorial Park in Poway.

Raymond Hightower, 89
ESCONDIDO - Raymond Hightower, 89, died Monday, April 23, 2001, at Restful Homes in Vista.
Born Aug. 22, 1911, in Texas, he lived in Escondido for 50 years.
He retired in 1980 from The Wardrobe. He served in the U.S. Army 187th Glider Infantry Regiment during World War II and received the American Campaign Medal, Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, Philippine Liberation Ribbon with two Bronze Stars, Good Conduct Medal, the Purple Heart Medal and the World War II Victory Medal.
Mr. Hightower was preceded in death by his wife, Anna May Hightower, on Sept. 18, 1999.
He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law Powell and Mona Hightower of Santa Barbara and sister and brother-in-law Jean and Charles Broska of Carlsbad.
Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, April 26, at Eternal Hills Mortuary.

Lyle Kelsey, 77
FALLBROOK - Lyle Jesse Kelsey, 77, died Thursday, April 19, 2001, at his home.
Born May 18, 1923, in Alexander, N.Y. he lived in Fallbrook for 26 years.
He retired on Jan. 20, 1982 from civil service as a supervisory quality assurance specialist.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II as a technical sergeant. He worked for NASA and contributed to the space programs from Apollo 8 to the space shuttle.
He was active in the Live Oak Park Coalition. He acted as a crisis counselor for the Trauma Intervention Programs of San Diego County.
Mr. Kelsey was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Dorothy.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy E. Kelsey of Fallbrook; daughters and son-in-law Judith Lucas of Oceanside and Rolinda and Ken Burke of Anaheim Hills; brothers Harry Kelsey, Henry Kelsey and Frank Kelsey; sister June Kelsey Grice, grandchildren James K. and Sia Lucas, Suzanne Lucas Marinelli and husband Larry, Anna Marie Orlow, Laura Lynn Orlow, Joseph Pessano, Kristina and Paul Francis, Peter Lyle Jesse Tracy and two great-grandchildren.

Edwin Sinclair, 90
ESCONDIDO - Edwin Joseph Sinclair, 90, died Saturday, April 21, 2001, at a local residential care facility.
Born July 6, 1910, in Boston, he lived in Escondido and Vista for 49 years.
He was honorably retired as a lieutenant deputy officer with the Vista Sheriff's Department after 15 years. He retired after 30 years as a chief warrant officer in the U.S. Marine Corps serving during World War II and the Korean War. He was a master marine mechanic in Oceanside and a 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus. He was a member of Elks, The Association of National Police Officers, the State of California Sheriff's Association and St. Francis Catholic Church in Vista. He enjoyed cruises around the world, motorcycles and golfing.
Mr. Sinclair was preceded in death by his brothers Lee, Richard, John and Alvin Sinclair.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Lucille K. Sinclair of Escondido; stepson Dennis Sorenson and wife Jan of Las Vegas; stepdaughters Cindy Cook and husband Stan of Escondido and Mary Kay Eastman and husband Bob of Armagosa Nev.; sisters and brothers-in-law Belva Sinclair of W. Hartford, Conn.; sister-in-law and husband Jeanette and Bob Lilly of Port Huemene; grandchildren Rob Eastman and wife Lorraine, Lori Heilman, Tobin Sorenson, Kim Sorenson and Angela Lawrence; and eight great-grandchildren.
