F.W. Meiers, 63
VISTA - F.W. "Lefty" Meiers Jr., 63, died Sunday, April 16, 2000, in Oceanside.
Born July 3, 1936, in Bismarck, N.D., he lived in San Diego County for 58 years. He was the owner of Arrow Top Shop in Oceanside for 25 years and elder of the Neighborhood Bible Church.
Mr. Meiers is survived by his wife of 40 years, Linda Meiers of Vista; sons and daughter-in-law Eric Meiers of Omaha, Neb., and Kurt and Teri Meiers of San Jose; and grandchildren Madison and Grant Meiers of San Jose.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 22, at Eternal Hills Mortuary Chapel, with the Rev. James A. Fowler officiating. A private inurnment will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, April 24, at Eternal Hills Memorial Park.

Robert Kisling, 68
OCEANSIDE - Robert William Kisling, 68, died Sunday, April 26, 2000, of cancer, at his home.
Born Sept. 18, 1931, in Benton County, Iowa, he lived in Oceanside for four years. He worked for Market Fixtures Unlimited and served in the U.S. Navy.
Mr. Kisling was preceded in death by his son, Terry L. Kisling, in 1985. He is survived by his wife, Marian Kisling of Oceanside; sons Timothy Lynn Kisling and Thomas Lee Kisling, both of Etna; daughter Sonya Lee Campbell of Des Moines, Iowa; brother Howard Dean Kisling of Kentucky; sister Betty Jean Brown of Vinton, Iowa; and grandchildren Ainsley Marie Lamantia, Timothy Lael Kisling, Travis Kisling and David Kisling.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 20, at Carlsbad Community Church, with the Rev. Barry Jones officiating. Interment will take place at 2:30 p.m. today, April 19, at Memory Garden Memorial Park in Brea, with Dr. Ron Rietveld officiating.

FALLBROOK - Phyllis Laverne Ranes, 75, died Sunday, April 16, 2000, in Fallbrook.
Born March 26, 1925, in Crested Butte, Colo., she lived in Fallbrook for 20 years. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Ranes is survived by her husband of 30 years, Roy Lee Ranes of Fallbrook; sons Stan Perkins of Hood River, Ore., and Ted Ricci of Washington; daughter Linda Naverro of Los Angeles; and seven grandchildren.

Emily Lopez, 90
OCEANSIDE - Emily M. Lopez, 90, died Thursday, April 13, 2000.
Born March 2, 1910, in Buffalo, N.Y., she lived in Oceanside. She graduated from Case Western Reserve in Cleveland with a degree in library science. She worked for the Buffalo Public Library, the New York Public Library, the Los Angeles Public Library and retired from the base library on Camp Pendleton in 1972. She was a volunteer for Tri-City Hospital Auxiliary for many years.
Mrs. Lopez was preceded in death by her husband, Lester D. Lopez; brothers Dr. Robert H. Mehnert and the Rev. Frank B. Mehnert; and sister Mary M. Muller. She is survived by her sisters-in-law Betty Mehnert and Elsie Mehnert; and seven nephews and nieces.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, at the First Presbyterian Church of Oceanside.

CARLSBAD - Tracy Michelle Pate, 28, died Thursday, April 13, 2000, of a drug overdose, in Oceanside.
Born April 28, 1971, in San Antonio, Texas, she lived in Carlsbad for 10 years.
Ms. Pate was preceded in death by her father, Ken Sandlin. She is survived by her companion, Christopher DeMille of Oceanside; mother Jeanette Jones of Carlsbad; daughter Rhiannon Bliss DeMille of Carlsbad; brother Clinton Troy Crocker of Point Loma; and grandmother Patsy Jones.
A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 22, in San Antonio, Texas.

Born Dec. 7, 1978, in San Diego, she attended San Diegueno Junior High and San Dieguito High School.
Jeannette is survived by her mother, Marie Wampler of Encinitas; father Zale Wampler of Antelope Valley; brother Bryan Wampler of Mira Mesa; and sister Annette Wampler of Mira Mesa.
Visitation will be held at noon Thursday, April 20, at North Coast Calvary Chapel in Carlsbad. A funeral service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday, April 20. Burial will follow.

CARLSBAD - William James Koehler, 82, died Monday, April 17, 2000, at his home.
Born Nov. 14, 1917, in California, he lived in Carlsbad for 40 years. He was a mechanical engineer for SDG&E before retiring and served in the U.S. Navy.
Mr. Koehler is survived by his wife of 13 years, Mary Koehler of Carlsbad; stepdaughter and stepson-in-law Jeanette and Dick Brinks of Sun City; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nephews and nieces.
A graveside service will be held at noon Thursday, April 20, at Eternal Hills Memorial Park, with the Rev. Glenn Bechtold officiating. Burial will follow at 12:30 p.m.

SUN CITY - Fern Ruth Templin, 79, died Monday, April 17, 2000, at Menifee Valley Medical Center.
Born Jan. 6, 1921, in St. Louis, she lived in Sun City for 20 years. She was a homemaker for 60 years and was a member of the Sun City Swim Club, Travel Club and Illinois Club.
Mrs. Templin is survived by her daughters, Susan Whitaker and Laura Diaz, both of San Dimas; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

LAKE ELSINORE - Roger Lee "Tony" Willingham, 58, died Thursday, April 13, 2000, of a heart attack, at his home.
Born May 26, 1941, in Anderson, Ind., he lived in Lake Elsinore for more than 22 years. He was a building engineer with International Towers in Long Beach for six years and the owner of Hook, Line and Sinker Tackle Co. in Lake Elsinore for five years, Triple Play Sport Cards in Lake Elsinore for five years and Entrepreneur Publisher in Lake Elsinore for six years. He was a member of the Elks 2591.
Mr. Willingham is survived by his wife, Peggy L. Willingham of Lake Elsinore; sons Kelly R. and Kelly E. Jessee of Lake Elsinore and Thomas L. Willingham of Homeland; brothers Tom Davis of Greenwood, Ind., and Bill Davis of Anderson, Ind.; and two grandchildren.

SUN CITY - Trudus Adelna Ruiz, 85, died Sunday, April 16, 2000, of congestive heart failure, at her home in Sun City.
Born Jan. 12, 1915, in Mink Creek, Idaho, she lived in Sun City for 23 years. She was a self-employed building contractor and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Sun City.
Mrs. Ruiz is survived by her brother, O'Keith Keller of Ojai; and sister Roma White of Idaho Falls, Idaho.

CARLSBAD - Marjorie W. Hoffman, 74, died Thursday, April 13, 2000, at Carlsbad by the Sea Care Center.
Born Sept. 18. 1925, in Stockton, she lived in Carlsbad. She graduated from Vallejo High School and was a volunteer for jazz festivals. She was a supporter of the San Diego Zoological Society and the Cancer Society.
Mrs. Hoffman is survived by her brother, Howard Wood of Benicia; nephews Howard Wood Jr. of Sherwood, Ore., and Doug Wood of Concord; nieces Elaine Wood of Selma, Ore., and Carolyn Drues of El Cerrito; two cousins; and many friends.

ESCONDIDO - Dora Gallegos, 51, died Sunday, April 16, 2000, at her home.
Born July 7, 1948, in Mexico, she lived in Escondido for 28 years. She was a presser for Continental Cleaners and had been in the laundry business for 30 years.
Mrs. Gallegos is survived by her husband, Pedro Gallegos of Escondido; sons Jose L. Lopez and Ramon Gallegos, both of Escondido, and Jovani Lopez of Kansas; brothers Ignacio Bernal and Nardo Bernal, both of San Diego, and Abel Bernal of Mexico; sisters Esperanza Bernal and Maria Bernal, both of Mexico; and five grandchildren.

PAUMA VALLEY - James Jefferson Officer, 76, died Sunday, April 16, 2000, at Palomar Medical Center.
Born May 27, 1923, in Los Angeles, he lived in Pauma Valley for 1 1/2 years. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a member of St. Francis Episcopal Church in Pauma Valley. He retired in 1980.
Mr. Officer is survived by his wife of 52 years, Helen Officer of Pauma Valley; sons Jefferson Officer and Michael Officer; daughters Judith Lipton of Sun Valley, Idaho and Candace Anderson of Descanso; sister Jessie Crowe of Bend, Ore.; grandchildren Byron, Melissa, Chelsea, Catherine, Kelly, Rachael and Riley; and great-grandchildren Spencer and Sawyer.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 3, at St. Francis Episcopal Church in Pauma Valley. Interment will follow at St. Francis Episcopal Church in Poway.

FALLBROOK - Caroline Josephine Raleigh, 90, died Wednesday, April 5, 2000, in Fallbrook.
Born Feb. 10, 1910, in Puerto Rico, she lived in Fallbrook for 27 years. She was a bookkeeper for a wholesale grocer for 10 years and was a volunteer for Catholic charities.
Mrs. Raleigh is survived by her sister, Amalia Marxuach of Puerto Rico.
