SAN MARCOS - Gloria Pattison, 77, died Monday, March 20, 2000, at her home in San Marcos.
Born June 6, 1922, in Jamaica, she lived in North County for 30 years. She was a caterer and a member of the Church of the Brethren.
Mrs. Pattison was preceded in death by her sister, Alma Young, in 1998. She is survived by her daughter, Wanda Pattison of San Marcos; brother and sister-in-law Abe and Mickie Cowan of Shreveport, La.; sisters and brothers-in-law Alzier and Roy William of Thomasville, Ga., and Grace and Don Pierce of Lafayette, Colo.; granddaughter Beverly Pattison; and many friends.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 15, at St. Aidans Episcopal Church in Boulder, Colo.

NEWPORT BEACH - Stephanie H. Platt, 89, died Wednesday, April 5, 2000, in Newport Beach.
Born Dec. 28, 1910, in Franklin, N.H., she lived in Newport Beach for three years and had lived in Escondido. She was a secretary for Beckman Instruments for 40 years before retiring.
Mrs. Platt is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Patricia of Newport Beach; and grandchildren Jessica of Newport Beach.

OCEANSIDE - Helen Audrey King, 80, died Friday, March 31, 2000, in Oceanside.
Born May 18, 1919, in Lafayette, Ind., she lived in Oceanside for 29 years. She was chief clerk for Manon Railroad before retiring.
Mrs. King was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Joseph King, in 1993. She is survived by her son, Randal King of San Diego; daughter Deidre King of Otterbein, Ind.; brother Wayne Gingrich of Lafayette, Ind.; and two grandchildren.
A private family service is planned with burial to take place at Forest Lawn Glendale.

Born May 6, 1916, in Rockingham County, N.C., she lived in Southern California since 1934.
Mrs. Dawson is survived by her daughter, Mary Helen Stevens of Oceanside; granddaughter Tracie Anderson; and great-grandchildren Brittany Anderson and Eric Anderson of Ocean Springs, Miss.

POWAY - Steven Gust Carlson, 41, died Thursday, March 30, 2000.
Born April 3, 1958, in Maryland, he lived in Poway for 15 years. He served as an aviation 1st mechanic in the U.S. Navy for 23 years. He was a command senior chief at the Pacific Missile Range facility in Hawaii.
Mr. Carlson is survived by his wife, Cheryl Carlson of Poway; son Steven Carlson of Clovis; stepsons Justin Williams and Aaron Mendoza, both of Escondido; daughter Nicole Carlson of Poway; brother John Carlson of Connecticut; sisters Patty Bergman of New Hampshire, Kathy Barboza of Hyannis, Mass., and Eileen Carlson of Santa Paula; and three grandchildren.

Born Jan. 8, 1923, in Union City, Pa., he lived in Vista for 13 years. He was an aeronautical engineer for Aerospace Corp. in El Segundo for 28 years and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a prisoner of war in the European Theater.
Mr. Clark is survived by his wife of 54 years, Ellenore Clark of Vista; son Edwin James Clark of Bloomington and Brian Haniel of Bremerton, Wash.; daughter Melinda Anne McCanna of Spring Valley; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Mrs. Scimo was preceded in death by her husband, Victor Scimo. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Eleanor and Anthony Annis of Vista; daughter-in-law Felicia Scimo of Vista; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Born Dec. 29, 1922, in Casper, Wyo., he lived in Murrieta. He was a field engineer for Stewart-Warner Electronics for 10 years, retiring in 1975. He served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Force for three years, receiving an Army Occupation Ribbon, American Theater Campaign Ribbon, European-African-MidEastern Campaign Ribbon with three Bronze Stars, Good Conduct Medal, Victory Ribbon and three overseas service bars.
Mr. Blamey is survived by his wife, Maria L. Blamey; sons James F. de Leon of Cypress and Edward de Leon of Temple City; daughters Dr. Mary Lou Siantz of Bloomington, Ind., Carmen Hernandez of Torreon, Mexico, Sylvia Vasquez of Norwalk and Gloria Provincio of San Dimas; brothers William Brannen and Donald Brannen; and 14 grandchildren.

TUKWILA, Wash. - Francis A. Bauer, 84, died Saturday, March 25, 2000, at Tukwila Hospital.
Born July 27, 1915, in Waxahachie, Texas, he lived in Tukwila for six months. He worked for North American Aviation in Los Angeles, retiring in 1967. He taught organ and piano in Lake Elsinore for 20 years and was a member of the Elks Club, Shriners and Masonic Lodge in Lake Elsinore.
Mr. Bauer is survived by his sons, Dan Baker of Lake Elsinore and Terry Baker of Thousand Oaks; daughter Susan White of Tukwila; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Walter Chase, 78
FALLBROOK - Walter M. Chase, 78, died Wednesday, April 5, 2000, at his home.
Born April 12, 1921, in Needham, Mass., he lived in Fallbrook for 19 years. He worked for the naval electronics laboratory in San Diego, retiring in 1981, and served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II.
Mr. Chase is survived by his wife of 55 years, Dorothy Chase of Fallbrook; daughter Candace Chase Olsen of Moraga; and sister Barbara Palson of Medfield, Mass.
No service will be held at the request of the deceased. A private cremation is planned.
