Harvard R. Munson, 68
FALLBROOK - Harvard R. Munson, 68, died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2000, in Murrieta.
Born June 2, 1931, in Presque Isle, Maine, he lived in Fallbrook for 20 years. He served in the U.S. Army, retiring as a major after 22 years. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Vista and the Ultralight Association.
Mr. Munson is survived by his wife, Lou Munson of Fallbrook; son Harvard Jay Munson of Harwood, Md.; daughters Terry Williamson of Puyallup, Wash., Jacqueline Gore of Anchorage, Alaska, and Janet Hailey of Portland, Ore.; sisters Mavis Ross and Joyce Burney, both of Coffeyville, Miss.; and seven grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 22, at the Vista Church of Christ, with the Rev. Haskell Hallmark officiating. Interment will take place at 10:15 a.m. Monday, Jan. 24, at Riverside National Cemetery, Staging Area 2.

Clarence Goodson, 80
FALLBROOK - Clarence F. "Tex" Goodson, 80, died Friday, Dec. 17, 1999, of heart failure, in Mexico, N.Y.
Born in Syracuse, New York, he lived in Fallbrook for five years. He worked for Allied Van Lines before retiring and served in the U.S. military during World War II. He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church and the Teamster's Local 317. He was a bow-hunting education instructor.
Mr. Goodson is survived by his wife of 60 years, Margaret K. Switzer of Fallbrook; five sons; one daughter; four sisters; 23 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
No service was held at the request of the deceased.

VISTA - Lillian Norene Nelson, 86, died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2000, in Vista.
Born June 30, 1913, in Rochelle, Ill., she lived in Vista for 36 years. She was a homemaker for 67 years.
Ms. Nelson is survived by her cousin, Muriel Olson of Vista.

Chresten Petersen, 76
POWAY - Chresten Petersen Jr., 76, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2000.
Born Sept. 13, 1923, in Oakland, he lived in Poway for 22 years. He was a technical instructor and supervisor for Pacific Bell and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Mr. Petersen is survived by his wife, Edith B. Petersen of Poway; son John Petersen of Manhattan Beach; daughter Sue Dean of Escondido; sister Norma Golden of Vista; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 24, at Cathedral of the Valley in Escondido. A graveside service is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 25, at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery.

Mrs. Petridge is survived by her daughters, Fern Roberts of Redmond, Wash., and Diane Burgess of Medina, Wash.; sister-in-law Fern Louise Jefferson of Seattle; and niece Carol Smith Hatch of Bend, Ore.

SAN MARCOS - Mary Hilda Foster, 85, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2000, at Palomar Medical Center.
Born Aug. 16, 1914, in Tennessee, she lived in San Marcos for nine years. She was a legal secretary for Dana & Dana Attorneys-at-Law before retiring.
Mrs. Foster was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Foster, in 1996. She is survived by her brother-in-law, Gene Judd of San Marcos; sister Marilda M. Judd of San Marcos; nephew Barry Judd of Layton, Utah; and niece Sherry Hulstine of San Marcos.
A Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 25, at St. Thomas Moore Church, with the Rev. Peter McGuine officiating. Interment will follow at noon at Eternal Hills Memorial Park.

RANCHO PENASQUITOS - Debra Mavis Day, 40, died Monday, Jan. 17, 2000, of gall bladder cancer, at her home.
Born Dec. 21, 1959, in San Diego, she lived in Rancho Penasquitos for 30 years. She was vice principal and director of Maranatha Christian Schools and a member and area chairman of Associated Christian Schools International.
Mrs. Day was preceded in death by her father, Jimmie Lee Mavis, on July 28, 1971. She is survived by her husband of 18 years, Glenn Day of Rancho Penasquitos; mother Patricia Mavis of Escondido; daughter Kathlynne Michele Day of Burbank; brothers Jim Mavis of Newport News, Va., and Richard Mavis of San Diego; sisters Sandra Walton of Escondido and Myra MacKenzie of San Diego.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 25, at Maranatha Chapel in San Diego, with Ray Bentley officiating. A private cremation is planned.

Born March 26, 1939, in Coronado, he lived at Lake San Marcos. He was a retired commander in the U.S. Coast Guard.
Mr. Hinkle is survived by his wife, Deborah C. Hinkle of San Marcos; mother Melrose P. Hinkle of Coronado; sons David Jon Hinkle and Robert Scott Hinkle, both of Escondido; brother Roland Hinkle of San Luis Obispo; and three grandchildren.

DALLAS - Dennis Armon James Sealey, 41, died Jan. 17, 2000.
Born Nov. 14, 1958, in Fort Campbell, Ky., he lived in Escondido for 34 years. He was a 1st sergeant in the U.S. Army Special Forces for 21 years and died in active duty. He was a graduate of Orange Glen High School in 1976 and a graduate of Defense Language Institute in Monterey.
Mr. Sealey is survived by his wife of 10 years, Hyun-Ju Sealey of Dallas; parents Bonnie and Ronald A. Sealey of Escondido; sons James Ronald Sealey of Escondido, Dennis A. L. Sealey of Killeen, Texas, and Harold Sealey of Dallas; daughter Brandy M. Sealey of Killeen, Texas; brothers Scott A. Sealey of Cudahy, Wis., and Bryan K. Sealey of Roland, Okla.; and grandmother Loyce M. Routa of Escondido.

Duncan Cormack, 86
ESCONDIDO - Duncan J. Cormack, 86, died Jan. 13, 2000, at Palomar Medical Center of pneumonia.
Born Aug. 9, 1913, in St. Louis, he lived in Vista for 30 years. He was a retired self-employed furniture manufacture representative. He was a graduate of Los Angeles High School in 1931 and lived in Downey from 1942-1970. He was a member of the Downey Junior Chamber of Commerce, Downey Lion's Club, a lifetime member of the DeMolay and Chapter Dad of Downey DeMolay. He was a Master Mason of Downey Masonic Lodge for 25 years and the Consuelo Lodge of Escondido for 25 years, receiving the Golden Veterans Award. He was a member of the Al-Malaika Shrine of Los Angeles, Knights Templar and Dean of the Legion of Honor and a member of the Southern California Furniture Club.
A private cremation with scattering of cremains at sea is planned.

San Marcos - Vera M. "Robbie" Burns, 77, died Jan. 14, 2000, of respiratory failure.
Ms. Burns lived in Tustin for 46 years. She was a retired medical assistant.
She is survived by her son, Robin Burns; daughters Stephanie Kisner, Anita Kloss and Nancy Burns; and eight grandchildren.

Born July 27, 1911, in Russia, he lived in Oceanside for 25 years.

He is survived by his sons, Vincent Rupp of Castaic, Lawrence Rupp of Monrovia and Henry Rupp III of Lake Arrowhead; daughters Mary Catherine Rupp of San Francisco and Diana Rupp Kennedy of Orinda; brother William Rupp of Nebraska; 15 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

TEMECULA - Bassam Matti, 39, died Jan. 13, 2000.
Born March 25, 1960, in Mosel, Iraq, he lived in Temecula for 12 days. He was a chemical technician for Applied Micro Circuits Corp. for 15 years.
He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Delphine Matti of Temecula; father Keriakos Keriakos of El Cajon; sons James Matti, Andrew Matti and Justin Matti, all of Temecula; brother Manny Keriakos of El Cajon; and sister Ban Keriakos of El Cajon.
A viewing will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 21, with rosary recited at 7 p.m., at Alhiser-Comer Mortuary in Escondido. A Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 22, at Church of the Resurrection in Escondido. A private interment is planned.

CANYON LAKE - Phyllis Virginia Kuzawa, 74, died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2000, of lung disease and cancer at Menifee Valley Medical Center.
Born Nov. 23, 1925, in Hart, Mich., she lived in Canyon Lake for four years. She was a 1943 graduate of Hart High School and a 1946 graduate of the University of Grand Rapids. She was a real estate agent and broker in Hacienda Heights, Palmdale and the Palm Springs area for 22 years, retiring in 1988. She received top salesman awards.
Mrs. Kuzawa is survived by her husband, Donald Kuzawa of Canyon Lake; sons David Kuzawa of Minden, Nev., Daniel Kuzawa of Mountain Center and Mike Kuzawa of Canyon Lake; daughter Robin Totonelly of Woodinville, Wash.; sister Shirley Chilberg of Vero Beach, Fla.; and two grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 22, at Anza Baptist Church.
