SAN MARCOS - Lillian B. Hoppe, 90, died Thursday, Dec. 30, 1999.
Born May 13, 1909, in Boston, she lived in San Marcos for 27 years. She worked for Escondido Country Club before retiring.
Mrs. Hoppe was preceded in death by her husband, William Hoppe, in 1965. She is survived by her sons, Rudy Hoppe of Henderson, Nev., and Richard Hoppe of San Marcos; brother Arnold Burrough of Massachusetts; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
No service will be held at the request of the deceased.

SAN DIEGO - Dwight McKay Garrett, 85, died Friday, Dec. 31, 1999, of diabetes and kidney failure, in San Diego.
Born May 31, 1914, in White City, Iowa, he lived in San Diego for 51 years. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the Lutheran Church and the Elks Club.
Mr. Garrett was preceded in death by his wife, Marie E. Garrett, in 1989. He is survived by his sons, Dwight David Garrett of San Diego and Dennis Michael Garrett of Chandler, Ariz.; daughter Juanita Marie Dorman of Escondido; grandchildren Wirt H. Dorman Jr., Carol Smith, Julie Bliss, Eric Garrett, Tamaca, Treeana, Nichol and Penny; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Howard Stratton, 74
FALLBROOK - Howard Lee Stratton, 74, died Monday, Dec. 27, 1999, in Fallbrook.
Born Aug. 18, 1925, in Los Angeles, he lived in Fallbrook for 28 years. He was an electrical contractor for Stratton Electric for 45 years and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1943 to 1946. He was a member of the Fallbrook Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Stratton is survived by his wife of 49 years, Nancy L. Stratton of Fallbrook; daughters Patricia Dales of Fallbrook and Vicki Nye of Temecula; sister Donna Schroeder of Hemet; and grandchildren Nancy Dales, Jessica Nye and Chad Nye.
A memorial service was held Thursday, Dec. 30, at the Fallbrook Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Robert Cunningham officiating. Inurnment took place at Riverside National Cemetery.

Oliver Steen, 89
CARLSBAD - Oliver T. Steen, 89, died Sunday, Jan. 2, 2000, of cancer, in San Diego.
Born Jan. 29, 1910, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, he lived in Carlsbad for more than two years. He was a radiologist at McKessport General Hospital in Pennsylvania before retiring and served as a captain in the Canadian Army Medical Corps during World War II. He was a member of the Solana Beach Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Steen was preceded in death by his wife, Eunice Steen, in 1986. He is survived by his son, Jon Steen of The Woodlands, Texas; daughter Judy Johnson of Carlsbad; grandchildren Jennifer Davey, Jeff Steen and Tim Hall; and great-grandchildren Brittany Steen, Spencer Steen and Danny Hall.

RANCHO SANTA FE - James Harvey Berry, 79, died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 1999, of mesothelioma, in Rancho Santa Fe.
Born June 19, 1920, in Tulsa, Okla., he lived in Rancho Santa Fe for 26 years. He was in the building materials business and served as a paratrooper during World War II. He was a frequent contributor on the subject of water rights to the Opinion Page of the North County Times.
Mr. Berry is survived by his wife, Shirley Berry of Rancho Santa Fe; four daughters; and four grandchildren.

Mrs. Graeff was preceded in death by her husband, George Graeff, in 1972; and her son, Thomas Graeff, in 1971. She is survived by her son, James Graeff of Granada Hills; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

OCEANSIDE - Raymond Francis Bradlow, 90, died Thursday, Dec. 30, 1999, in Vista.
Born Nov. 1, 1909, in Waterbury, Conn., he lived in Oceanside for 49 years. He was a pressman for the San Diego Union-Tribune before retiring.
Mr. Bradlow was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Bradlow, in 1993. He is survived by his son, Raymond Bradlow Jr. of Murrieta; daughter Patricia Bradlow of Poway; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
No service will be held at the request of the deceased. A private cremation is planned, with cremains to be scattered at sea.

Born April 30, 1941, in Los Angeles, she lived in San Marcos for 28 years. She was a branch manager for the First Republic Bank in Del Mar for 12 years.
Mrs. Vasquez is survived by her husband of 37 years, Antonio "Tony" Vasquez of San Marcos; sons Paul Raymond Vasquez of San Marcos and Leonard Brian Vasquez of Los Angeles; daughter Kimberly Ann Vasquez of San Marcos; brothers Richard Villa of Whittier, Robert Villa of Wildomar, Casey Villa Jr. of Orange and John Villa of Rancho Cucamunga; sisters Helen Flores and Virginia Villa, both of Whittier; and two grandchildren.

ESCONDIDO - Cora Ethelyn Lee, 90, died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 1999, at Valle Vista Nursing Center in Escondido.
Born Jan. 23, 1909, in Arkansas, she lived in Escondido for five years. She was a department manager for Broadway stores before retiring. She was past regional president of Ventura County American Legion Auxiliary and a 1926 graduate of Manual Arts High School in Los Angeles.
Mrs. Lee was preceded in death by her husband, George E. Lee; and her son, Charles E. Storie. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Arthur Doig of Oceanside; and grandchildren David Collins of Encinitas, Paul Collins of Long Beach, Liane Collins of San Francisco, Randy Storie of Michigan and Glen Storie of Georgia.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 10, at Glen Haven Memorial Park in Sylmar, with the Rev. Richard Miller officiating. Interment will follow.

FALLBROOK - Harvey Sherwood Seapy, 85, died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 1999, in Fallbrook.
Born Nov. 23, 1914, in Hegesville, Mont., he lived in Fallbrook for 25 years. He was an aeronautical engineer with McDonald Douglas for 32 years and a member of the United Methodist Church of Fallbrook.
Mr. Seapy is survived by his wife of 57 years, Viva Seapy of Fallbrook; son John Reed Seapy of Manhattan Beach; daughter Megan Castrup of Corning; brother John Windsor Seapy of Anaheim; and grandchildren Mark Castrop, David Seapy and Daniel Seapy.

Born July 14, 1957, in Green Bay, Wis., she lived in San Diego County for 20 years. She was a medical records supervisor at Camp Pendleton Naval Hospital for 19 years, a member of the Valley Bible Church in San Marcos and a secretary of AWANA.
Mrs. Carlier is survived by her husband of 10 years, James W. Carlier of Oceanside; mother Shirley Leurquin of Connellsville, Pa.; sons Jimmy Carlier and Joey Carlier, both of Oceanside; brothers Francis Leurquin of Enid, Okla., Joseph Leurquin of Connellsville and Duane Leurquin of Redwing, Minn.; and sisters Michelle Channon and Lisa Vidrio, both of Houston, and Charlene Astorga of Tracy.

Mrs. Moyryla was preceded in death by her daughters, Mary Ruth Mallett and Ella Margie Johnson. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Paul Moyryla of Fallbrook; one grandchild; two great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Born Feb. 6, 1935, in Mexico, he lived in Carlsbad for 44 years. He worked for Union Local 89 and the Carlsbad Unified School District.
Mr. Duran is survived by his companion of 33 years, Alice Grijalva of Oceanside; mother Lola Rios Duran of Texas; father Jose Duran of Mexico; sons Jesse Moreno of Oceanside, Fidel Grijalva of Las Vegas, Jose A. Born Sept. 14, 1904, in Burlington, N.D., he lived in Murrieta. He was a grain farmer for 40 years and a member of Vista Masonic Lodge and Al Bahr Shrine, San Diego, in the Tin-Lizy Unit.
Mr. Parris is survived by his wife, Genevieve Parris of Murrieta; sons Wayne W. Parris of Woodinville, Wash., and Stanley P. Parris of Sarasota, Fla.; daughters Joyce Parris of Campbell, Janet Shaffer of Murrieta and Peggy Chubb of Paradise; 17 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.
