THIS INDENTURE, Made the seventh day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and fourteen,
BETWEEN Osmond RATCLIFF and Grace G. RATCLIFF (his wife) both of Lake City, Modoc county, California the parties of the first part, and Charles STREIG of Fort Bidwell, Modoc county, State of California the party of the second part,
WITNESSETH: That the said parties of the first part, for and in consideration of the sum of ten and 00/100 dollars Gold coin of the United States of America, to them in hand paid by the said party of the second part, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged do by these presents grant, bargain, sell, convey and confirm, unto the said party of the second part, and to his heirs and assigns forever, all those certain lots pieces or parcels of land, situate, lying and being in the town of Lake city County of Modoc State of California and bounded and particularly described as follows, to with:
Lots numbered One (1), Two (2), three (3), four (4) five (5) six, (6), seven (7) and Lots numbered Twenty (20) Twenty one (21) Twenty Two (22) Twenty-three (23), Twenty-four (24) Twenty-five (25) and Twenty six (26) all in block "C" of said Town of Lake city,
TOGETHER with the tenements, hereditaments and appurtenances thereto belonging or in anywise appertaining; and also all their estate, right, title and interest, at law and equity therein or thereto, including the rents, issues and profits thereof,
TO HAVE AND TO HOLD, the same to the said Charles STREIG his heirs and assigns forever; and they do covenant with the said Charles STREIG and his legal representatives forever, and that the said real estate is free from all incumbrances, and that they will and their heirs, executors and administrators shall WARRANT AND DEFEND the same to the said Charles STREIG his heirs and assigns forever, against the lawful claims and demands of all persons whomsoever.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the said parties of the first part have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first above written.

BACHTEL Justice of the Peace in and for the said county of Modoc, personally appeared Osmond RATCLIFF and Grace G. RATCLIFF his wife known to me to be the persons whose name are subscribed to the within instrument, and they and each of the acknowledged to me that they each of them respectfully executed the same.
