Of his immediate family he is survived by his two sisters Doris and Coralee Partlow, and was under the care of his sister Doris in Tuscan, Arizona, when he passed away after being treated in intensive care once again for breathing complications related to his long-time battle with emphysema. In addition to his sisters, Lou is survived by his four remaining children, Teri Walker, Jay Walker, Raequell (Rocky) Duran and Michael Pendleton. Lou joined the armed forces at a young age, and enjoyed travel to Korea, Louisiana and especially Florida where he spent plenty of time at the beach as a lifeguard. In later years he worked at Starkist Foods and Packard Bell before moving to Bakersfield in 1968 and working for the Santa Fe Railroad until retirement. Following retirement, Lou became the unofficial city host of the Southwest and Downtown Bakersfield establishments. Lou made it his job to say hello to lovely ladies and many longtime friends on a daily basis. He also enjoyed spending time with his "running buddies", friends Bo Bispo and Charlie Pixler. There is sure to be a surplus of lemons and salt now that he's gone. He used to say he liked Blondes, Brunettes and Redheads. We used to say you can always tell a Texan because you can't tell him anything... Graveside services will be held on Friday, February 10th, at 10:00 a.m., at Greenlawn Southwest Mortuary, 2739 Panama Lane, Bakersfield, CA 93313.
