Burkhart, C.S.Sp. The Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m., Monday, August 2, 2004 and the Mass of the Christian Burial will be said at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 3, both at St. Philip the Apostle Church. Burial will be held in Hemet. Visitation is Monday, from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m., at Hopson-Anspach Family Mortuary, 620 Oregon Street, Bakersfield, CA. Beloved priest and friend went home to the Lord after a lengthy illness. Serving as a priest for 60 years, Fr. Roy ministered at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish and Mercy Hospital as well as other ministries in several states and Puerto Rico. Known for his welcoming smile, profound simplicity, generosity and love for the poor, he continued to ask us: Keep smiling! His remaining siblings are Mary Bucellato, Larry and Paul Burkhart, Rosemarie Spangler and Ruth Stockert. He has many cherished nieces and nephews.
