Alice Marie Lightner
Services: Sat., March 5, 10 a.m.

Alice Marie Madigan Lightner passed away on February 25, 2005 in San Diego, 
CA. 

She was born on February 5, 1916 in Connellsville, PA, and moved shortly 
thereafter to Los Angeles. In 1933, she married Clifford Alton Lightner, 
descendant of pioneer Kern Co. families (Early, Reynolds, Lightner) and moved 
with her family to Bakersfield in 1949. There she worked for the City of 
Bakersfield, Kern Co. Credit Union and the Bakersfield City Schools before 
retiring to San Diego in 1986. Throughout her life, Mrs. Lightner was a 
talented and avid artist. 

Possessed of an outgoing personality, a kind heart and an indefatigable 
spirit, Mrs. Lightner was predeceased by her husband Cliff (Sleepy). She is 
survived by her daughter, Victoria Lightner of San Diego; her sons and their 
wives, Kevin and Sharon of Coronado, CA and David and Renee of Reno, NV; her 
grandchildren, Mikah Lightner OMara, Derek Lightner and Amy Lightner.

A graveside service and burial is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 5 
at Greenlawn Southwest in Bakersfield.
