The family requests that all County Road Workers please come to the memorial service in their road working attire. Richard Erdman was born September 19, 1944, in Glendale, CA. He was a Road Grader for the Kern County Roads & Bridges Dept. for 32 years. He loved watching NASCAR races and was a very honest, friendly, and hard working man. He has received many awards for helping stranded motorists on the roadways. Richard was a Sergeant in the U.S. Airforce as a Air Policeman. He attended and graduated from Kern Valley High School in 1962. Survivors include his wife, Susan Erdman of Inyokern, CA, 2 sons, 1 daughter, 6 stepchildren, brother and sister-in-law, Phil and Janice Erdman of Clovis, CA, 2 grandchildren, 14 step-grandchildren and 7 step-great-grandchildren. Family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society Indian Wells Valley Unit, 129 E. Ridgecrest, Blvd., Suite F, Ridgecrest, CA 93555.
