Juanita Lenore Burton
July 18, 1945 Nov. 22, 2004

Juanita passed away peacefully from heart failure in her home on November 
22nd, 2004. She was born at Tinker AFB in Oklahoma. She resided in many places 
in Oklahoma and Texas before relocating to Bakersfield in the 1960s. Juanitas 
passion and profession was teaching at Longfellow Elementary School, where she 
served for over a decade. 

She is survived by her brother, Alan Cassiano of Corona, CA; her sister, 
Cimarron Hernandez of Bakersfield, CA; her children, Victoria Burton of Allen, 
TX; Alexandra Watson of Whittier, CA; and Jesse Alan Burton of Bakersfield, 
CA. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

A private family memorial service was held on November 27th. Memorial 
contributions may be made in her name to the Cesar E. Chavez Foundation via 
the National Chavez Ctr., 29700 Woodford, Tehachapi Rd., in Keene, CA 93531.
