Landwer 1/23/1942 10/5/2004 Douglas passed away October 5, 2004 in Boise after a brief illness. He was born in Bakersfield, CA on January 23, 1942 to Keith and Marguerite Landwer. He graduated from BSH in 1959 and continued his education at Cal Poly, SBCC, and USC. In 1961, he moved to Santa Barbara to continue his education and open his first architectural firm and general contractors business. During his career he designed, built and/or supervised over 95 custom homes, large subdivisions, condos, hotels, motels, and many commercial buildings in CA, AZ, ID, La Paz, MX, Baja, MX, St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. Over the years he won numerous national and local awards for his design and craftsmanship. Douglas moved to Eagle, ID in 1995 and was a partner in Birkshire Estate. Over the years he was affiliated with several professional and service organizations. He was a member of the Meridian Mason Lodge #47 and was active in the Eagle Lions Club where he was in charge of eye glasses for kids. Douglas will always be remembered for his great sense of humor, gourmet cooking, compassion for others and his exceptional quality of design and craftsmanship. He is survived by his three children, Douglas Jonathan Landwer, La Selva Beach, CA, Elizabeth (Jim) Gallacci, Steven (Sandra) Walden and granddaughter, Madison Walden, Fresno, CA; sisters, Lynda (Bill) Coker, Elk Grove, CA, Diane Brocklesby, Goleta, CA; Uncle Ed and Aunt Barbara Pensinger, Bakersfield, CA and several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Charles Brocklesby. At his request no services were held. Contributions in Douglass memory can be made to the Lions Club Eye Glasses for Kids or the Cancer Foundation.
