Matthew S. Grayson

Matthew Grayson, who was born in Bakersfield and raised in Shafter, passed 
away on October 10th while visiting friends in Seattle. 

Matt was a proud graduate of Shafter High School, class of 1990. Following 
high school, he worked for two years at BARC. He then began his career as a 
custodian, working at Shafter High for seven years and The Bakersfield Adult 
School for the past four years. 

Matt loved sports and was a huge fan of the Dodgers, Lakers, and 49ers. He was 
an avid BARC bowler. He lettered in Tennis at Shafter High School and 
participated on The Bakersfield Special Olympics Tennis Team (Matt had one 
mean serve).

He loved his life and had a passion for country music, Garfield, Spiderman, 
WWE Wrestling, soap opera OLTL, hamburgers and pizza.

Matt is survived by his parents, Larry and Judy Grayson; his sister, Cami and 
her husband, Jeff; his nephew, Matthew; and his grandmother, Audrey Stewart.

Memorial service will be conducted by Father Mark Lawrence on Saturday, 
November 6, 2:00 p.m., at St. Pauls Episcopal Church, 2216 17th Street, in 
Bakersfield. 

His life was a blessing; we miss him so much.
