Sybil Dixie Mull
1919 - 2004

Sybil was born January 4th, 1919 in Clay County Alabama to Jane and Sam 
Hickey. Sybil resided in Bakersfield for most of her 85 years where she 
attended Standard School and graduated from Kern Union High School. She then 
embarked on obtaining her Cosmetology License. She also attended Bakersfield 
Junior College. Sybil met the love of her life Robert Mull and they were 
married January 3, 1940. This was the beginning of a union lasting 64 years. 

After her marriage, Sybil worked for a short time as a beautician. She then 
became employed by Kern County Juvenile Hall where she remained for 13 years 
as a Group Supervisor. After her retirement she worked for the New York Life 
Insurance Company.

Sybil was a devoted member of North Hills Community Church where she and Bob 
found much joy and faith in the daily teaching of the word of God.

Sybil was preceded in death by her eldest son, Robert L. Mull, known as Pete, 
and is survived by her grandson, Jimmy. She is survived by her beloved husband 
Robert, her son Steven and his wife Melvina and granddaughter Stephanie.

A memorial service will be held at North Hills Community Church on Saturday, 
September the 18th at 5:00 p.m.
