Walker 1915 - 2004 Ralph L. Walker was called home to be with the Lord on September 1, 2004, in Bakersfield, California. Ralph was born in Arriba, Colorado, on October 26, 1915 to Llewellyn and Jessie Walker. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Margaret, in 1962 and by his loving and devoted wife of 40 years, Myrta, who passed away in 2002. Ralph is survived by his loving daughter, Susanne Landry and husband, Bill. His grandchildren include Serena and Monique Landry; Larry Fairbanks Jr. and wife, Susan; Ralph Fairbanks and wife, Norma; Michael Rowley and wife, Kari; Robert Rowley and wife, Ochie. His great-grandchildren include Larry III and Tyler Fairbanks; Luisa Yanez; Aaron, Tanner and Morgan Rowley; Joy and Mark Tollentino and Cheska Rowley. Ralph led a long and adventurous life. He was raised on farms and ranches in Colorado and Arkansas and helped his parents and brothers tend the land. Ralph worked as an engineer with the Southern Pacific Railroad until his retirement in 1978. Ralph and his wife, Myrta were always active. They spent many wonderful years together traveling across the United States with their family and friends. Ralph and Myrta loved camping and fishing, Balch Park was one of their favorite destinations. Ralph and Myrta had many, many friends and enjoyed dancing, entertaining and playing cards with them. Ralph spent his remaining months in the home and care of his loving daughter and family. Ralphs family would like to thank Maria, Kathleen and Claudia from Hoffmann Hospice for the excellent care and support they provided to Ralph and his family. A private gathering will be held in Ralphs honor to celebrate his life and the shared memories of his family.
