Pastor Ron Roberson will officiate. Leon was born June 30, 1944 in Clinton, Arkansas and he went to be with our Lord on January 27, 2006. Alvin is preceded in death by his father, P.C. Bishop; sister, Mary Jo Wombles; granddaughter, Jamie Emerson and niece, Suzanne Bishop. He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Bishop; mother, Mary Bishop; children, LaTressa, Mark, Allen and Raymond; son-in-law, Miguel Madrid; daughters-in-law, Kelly, Melanie and Stacey; grandsons, Michael, Jeremy, Anthony, Allen Jr., Raymond Jr. and baby Barton on the way; granddaughters, Marissa, Jessica, Alex, Amanda and Ashley; great- grandson, Jaden; brothers, Doc, Johnny, Jimmy, Gene and Kenneth Bishop; sisters, Ruth Sanders, Irene Bishop, Ann Bishop and Martha Sue Williams. Leon came to California in 1956. He resided in Bakersfield for 50 years where he was a carpenter by trade and he was an excellent woodsman. Leon was married to his wife Shirley for 45 years and together they had four children. He loved planting and watching his vegetable garden grow. He enjoyed fishing and his favorite times were when he was out driving with his side kick Shirley. He was loved by all that knew him and he will be deeply missed.
