Grants Pass, Oregon, was a sundown town in the years before World War II.[161]
Medford, Oregon, had a reputation of being a sundown town unwelcoming to "negroes and other racial minorities" prior to 1963.[163] According to the Medford Mail Tribune, "In some cases of record, many years ago, police officers were assigned to see that no such individuals were permitted to remain here overnight."[163]
