Marriage (also called matrimony or wedlock) is a socially or ritually recognized union or legal contract between spouses that establishes rights and obligations between them, between them and their children, and between them and their in-laws.
Sacramento County Marriages
I have compiled an index of marriages gleaned from a variety of newspaper notices. For the years 1855 through 1859, I transcribed the yearly list posted in the Sacramento Daily Union. (The Daily Union published marriages, usually on January 1st, from the previous year.) These are listed as:

If I have found an individual marriage announcement, that will be found under Marriage Announcements. If at all possible, not only will the date of marriage be provided but also the newspaper the marriage information was found in will be included.
